In a fierce moment, her life shattered like a fragile glass into too many pieces. Nothing could fix anything now, she felt helpless.
She had stayed strong in front of everyone. Her children. All her tears and sadness were blocked behind a face she had now mastered. But now, at this place, no one would bother her. She could be herself for sometime now.
She allowed her tears to flow freely. Why stop them?
What did I do, that such a horrifying future was to befell me?
She had showered love - her husband, her children, garima, mom and everyone of her family.
She had loved Samarth so much. But then, was that love blind? Selfish? She trusted him with her life. And he killed that very trust.
For nine years, she struggled, worked really hard to be a good wife.
Is this what I get after doing so much for my family?
In a trice, it all ended. She couldn't take it anymore. Her husband showed his real colors when news of his various affairs leaked in the media. In jail he was. All accounts were freezed. Mom was strictly against her doing any job. And now her house too... Why me?
Why doesn't anyone support me?
Her children. She worried for them the most. How was she supposed to clear out their confusion? Their questions were something she knew she couldn't handle. A sudden feeling of restlessness filled her.
Too many questions were floating around for which she had no answers.
Samarth had done something unthinkable. She loved him. And he repayed it with being unfaithful.
He broke her trust.
Why? Was I too naive to comprehend him?
She stared blankly at the dense network of trees surrounding her. Moonlight was enough to make her tears glint.
She needed some time alone and this was the best place. Night had already fallen and the moon shined brightly.
She sat there, alone and sobbing.
Suddenly, she heard someone speak behind her.
"Excuse me! You know its dangerous around here... unless you are attempting to get in 'danger' here. "
Her heart skipped a beat. Ofcourse, a woman shouldn't be out this late.
She turned to see the source of voice.
She slumped back when the familiar face stared at her.
"Why are you here? "
" I can ask you the same question. " he said.
How rude and annoying can a person be?
Agreed, she worked for him, but then her circumstances were dreadful. She had no choice. She had qualifications but the required experience was non existant. This job had come to her like a real opportunity knocking straight to her face.
Shw couldn't deny that vikram was a complete egoistic jerk.
"Just go," Her face was all red, eyes swollen.
He could see the tears flowing .
He simply walked and sat besides her. She looked at him in surprise.
"Here. " He handed her his handkerchief.
"huh? You are being exceptionally kind today." She said in a muffled voice. Sure, she was surprised by his gesture.
He looked up. "No. Actually the condition of your makeup is real bad. You look like a zombie. " He replied, with a straight face.
Shobha stared at him with wide eyes. Was I really expecting him to behave like a normal person ? Never!
She took the hanky from him without a word.
After a silence(and sobbing) of what felt like an eternity, he spoke.
"What is it? "
Why would you want to know? To laugh at me? Mock me?
He narrowed his eyes.
"I already have enough reasons to NOT answer your question."
"You know what, your story is as good as a typical bollywood masala movie. I might enjoy it! " He smirked.
"I am in no mood to listen to your nonsense, Mr. Vikram."
He laughed. "Try me. "
Why is he...
She looked ahead. Her voice quivered a little.
"I am tired. Tired of fighting and running. I have lost everything I had. I haven't got the courage to fight anymore... " she trailed off, fighting the urge to not shed tears.
"Is that all you wanted to say?" His face suddenly became inscrutable.
"You haven't even tried anything and you are giving up? Grow up Shobha! There's your whole life before you. You want to let go of it just like that? Look up. LOOK AT ME! "
Breathing heavily, she looked up.
" Look around Shobha. There are many ways right in front of you. Search for them. By being that jerk Samarth's doll isn't going to take you anywhere. " he continued "Open your eyes. "
She pondered over his words for some time.
She felt like crying even more. And she did, much to Vikram's dismay.
Even he didn't understand how that happened, but somewhere inside his head he was glad for it.
He held her close, his arms tightly around her as she cried her heart out.
"You are right. I am sorry. " she said between sobs.
"I know." He said, comforting her.
