Chap-10 Tresspassers
Akash had met Ananya at her place every other day of the week as she recovered. Shefali also had warmed up to Akash and she did not mind him being around Ananya because she found he was really taking care of her. Over the weekend Shefali had invited Akash and Kunal over to their place and they had a feast over pizzas and spent the day watching movies on the newly bought home theater. Akash not only liked being with Ananya but also he enjoyed the company of Shefali and Kunal. They were quite opposites but still they were a cute couple and he saw how they were made for each other. After a week Ananya was quite excited to be back to work and Akash had picked her up from her apartment and reached the office together. Ananya had laughed at being picked up because she used to just stay 10mins from the campus. Akash had just chided her saying that since she did not like bikes and he could not live without bikes so it was just his way to make her comfortable with bikes and make her like them as well. After a couple of days Ananya had refused to ride the bike saying she missed her date with the gulmohar because the gulmohar trees were like her friends and she really loved being with them and talking to them. Akash although was hurt initially because that was the best time for him he had when he rode the bike with a shaky Ananya pillion riding with him but he thought maybe Ananya is still not so comfortable with bikes and he thought about letting it go for now. He decided to join her everyday in the gulmohar pathway and walk with her.
Ananya knew Akash used to reach early on purpose to NIAMS on the main gate and then walk back to give her company and walk with her along the gulmohar path but everytime she asked him why he was walking with her , he tried to make up some silly reason every day. Akash told Ananya used to talk about everything apart from walk while they walked together and during this time he told that his mother was going on a pilgrimage along with an entire group from the ashram of some baba, she is a devotee of and he is going to miss his favourite parathas till she is back. The day Akash's mother left for the pilgrimage he was in NIAMS early since he had to have breakfast but infact did not enjoy any of the offerings on the menu. So he had to do away with a plain dosa and some filtered coffee. As Ananya started discussing some research details and the plan for the next week, she saw he was not concentrating and on asking Akash revealed that he was feeling hungry. On hearing that Ananya was quite surprised because it was not even 12 in the afternoon and Akash was not an early lunch person and then she came to know about him skipping the breakfast and how he was missing his Mom. The temporary cook was the gardener that they had but he was an awful cook and unless he had no other option he had to eat from Ramu kaka's kitchen.She felt sad for him as Akash loved food and she knew how lonely he must be feeling. The next day she came in a little late for the research center and Akash was really worried since she is never late. He saw her carrying a big tiffin box and as she opened the box the smell wafted through the small canteen .Everybody asked her what's so special and she explained that she had made some extra parathas for breakfast today in excitement of making parathas so she packed them for everybody. As everybody started having the parathas and praising her culinary skills , she indicated Akash to come and have the parathas. Even after everybody had there were quite a few left and Akash on seeing that asked Ananya "Yeh sab kyun kar rahi ho Ananya..main manage kar lunga..itne saare logon ke liye tum aise roz to paratha nahin laa sakti".On hearing that Ananya started the lame excuse of making extra for breakfast and before she could complete Akash stopped her saying "Keep that explanation for people who don't know you, don't give them to me. But by the way thanks..I really love these parathas".On hearing that Ananya said "I could not make like Aunty but tried my best from whatever I heard from you". Hearing her confession Akash laughed "so, finally you admit you made this for me , then why share with others, I would have made better excuse and taken all".
Ananya smiled and said "Tum pagal ho, itne parathas ka karoge kya ..do you want to have lunch, dinner breakfast also next day on these". Although Ananya preferred to have lunch at canteen and occasionally carried from home but just for Akash she tried different recipes and cooked lunch for both of them and carried them to workplace and they shared the lunch. Akash used to also wait for her to serve lunch for both of them and sometimes he would serve for both of them if he reached the canteen early and wait. The only thing Akash now missed in terms of food was non-vegetarian and he was sure Ananya would never make that since she was a vegetarian and also Shefali and non-veg food is a strict no-no at their apartment. Ananya used to pack him some extra curry for dinner so he could ask his horrible cook Ramu kaka to just make the rotis and the non-veg. Akash could never get used to street or restaurant food in his lifetime unlike other bachelors like him who were so used to outside food. Akash was very occasional outside eater and his mother used to tease him that he should get a wife who loves and enjoys cooking. As he thought of this the face of Ananya flashed in front of him and he started thinking how she has been literally taking care of him. His thoughts were broken as his mobile started ringing and he saw it was Natasha calling. As he picked up the call she started questioning him about his leave and where has he been. She had been hearing news about him visiting Ananya and pillion riding with her every day. Akash was irritated with her questioning and said "Look Natasha, this is my life and I don't owe an explanation to anybody about what I do". At this Natasha said "Oh no , Mr. Handsome, you willingly came into my life and ended up as my boyfriend and now that you are taken you are my territory and I will not let anybody trespass it .Do you get that, all this research center entry , all the other enjoyments that you and your friends are having is at my expense remember." Immediately Akash knew where this was going and replied back "No Natasha, I am sorry I did not mean it..actually I am a little stressed out so".
Nats: "Oh My Baby!! I understand that Ananya must be dumping all her work on you..my poor baby"
Ak: "Its just that it would have been a police case if I would not have gone out of the way and helped Ananya recover. I was worried so just acting helping and decent to avoid any trouble"
Nats: "Don't worry Akash, they wont dare and in case something like that happens Dad is always there to bail out"
Ak: "No sweetheart, its not that. Its not fair to involve your Dad for such petty issues when we have alternatives. He is a busy man. Anyways now that things are sorted don't worry. When are we catching up by the way "
Akash smiled and thought it was a close call , he was almost caught and he was not worried about anything but been thrown out of NIAMS and then he would not be able to meet Ananya. He could not afford that at any cost but this is going to be a perennial problem and he needs to find a quick solution to it. He was at the moment too tired to think as he needed to call Ananya to thank her for the lovely mixed vegetable curry she has made for dinner. He was least interested in the party as well but for now to avoid further ripples in the placid life he decided to join Natasha and gang for the get together. Little did he know that small problems if not fixed on time might become bigger issues.
