Chap-23- Colors of the rainbow
Akash had been very excited about the fact that he had been chosen for the assignment and he would be part of the team setting up the center at Sweden. He had been surprised that Ananya was not considered for this assignment .He had thought about asking Dr. Gupta but Ananya had turned it down saying he would feel offended that they were proposing each other's name because if Dr. Gupta would have asked her to choose between the two of them she would have chosen Akash for sure. Akash and Ananya both were sad about having to stay away from one another. Both did not know how to deal with the news, because it's a double edged sword and if they were happy about one's success, they were livid about the separation. Ananya had finally managed to put up a brave front and convinced Akaksh that in this age of technology, distances did not matter and they would always be together. In the following weeks Ananya had been shuttling between research center, her orphanage work and shopping with Shefali.Yes, Shefali's wedding had been fixed and was around the corner. Ananya, Shefali and her mom had shopped every weekend till they had dropped dead. Since post marriage Shefali would be away for honeymoon and she wanted a leave for three weeks, her boss was giving her a hard time making her work overtime almost every day. Although Shefali had insisted on shopping for Ananya as well along with her wedding trousseau but Ananya had stayed away from the extravaganza because Akash going away was on the back of her mind and she was not feeling like shopping. Shefali had been busy with her engagement and wedding prep so had been unable to catch up with Ananya but in the small conversations they had Shefali was overjoyed to know that Akash had finally said those wonderful words to Ananya. She was equally angry with Ananya as to why she let her go the wonderful career opportunity she had. Ananya had finally got fed up and asked her that if Kunal and Shefali were facing a similar situation wouldn't she have given the opportunity to Kunal. Shefali had finally climbed down from her stand and said "I agree, you both are in love but I am not having this good feeling about Akash going away for such a long time without some kind of commitment, I trust you know what you are doing and I just want the best for you".
An: I know Shefu , you really care for me like your own sister so I adore the protective instincts that you have but I trust Akash , I know he understands me and will do what is right for both of us and I know he will not let me down.
Sh: My you are so much in love Ana..I never knew I will get to see such a blushing and glowing in love Ananya one day
Saying this both of them burst into peals of laughter.
Akash had also been busy preparing for his new assignment and hardly had time to spend with Ananya and they had been missing each other badly. One fine evening, Akash decided that he had enough and he just had to drop everything and meet his lady love. Ananya was at the orphanage singing and dancing with the kids when Akash reached. Ananya was surprised to see him there as he had neither called nor texted but she anyways liked the surprise and she was also missing him badly. She left the podium and ran to him and both drank from each other's eyes as if they were meeting after ages.
Ak: Chalo mere saath, aaj mein sab kaam chodkar aaya hoon , aj tum bhi thodi der ka break to le hi sakti ho
An: Haan Akash mein bhi tumse milna chahati thi par aj mein inhein song & dance class leti hoon
Ak: Maine Sister Maria se baath kar li hain, woh aj tumhare bina manage kar lengi
Ananya tried to reason but Akash raised his finger and said
Ak: Aj agar tum mere saath nahin aayi to main maan loonga tum mujhse bilkul bhi pyar nehin karti aur mera tum par itna bhi haq nehin ki main tumhare kuch ghante apne liye maang sakoon
Ananya did not have any arguments for all this and in a few minutes they were speeding away in Akash's car. She was surprised to see that Akash had stopped in front of a shopping mall and she asked:
An: Yeh hum yeh shopping mall kyun aye hain...
Ak: Shefali agar tumhari best friend hain to meri bhi accquanitance to hain hi aur uski shaadi mein kya mein thode naye kapre nahin kharid sakta.After all you should also know how handsome I look and why girls swoon on me.
Ananya caught him by his collar and said:
An: If that is the reason you are better off without new clothes.
Ak: I smell something terribly burning in the car
Saying this both burst into laughter and went shopping. After Akash had bought a few things, he pulled Ananya to a ladies boutique and Ananya asked:
An: What do we intend to buy here
AK: Why clothes for you? After all if I wear new, you also are supposed to.
An: No Akash, its ok, I will manage with what I have. Seriously I don't intend to buy one.
Ak: Are you from this planet. Woman!!I have not met a girl who does not like to shop. I am not taking all the excuses Ananya. I want you to look the best in your best friend's marriage and you cannot stop me from doing that.
Saying this he dragged her to the shop and literally let them show out the best they had and Ananya could not deny seeing the excitement in his eyes as he put the various colors on her to choose the one that suits her the best. At the end of it, they had bought for them dresses for almost each of the wedding function. As they sat down to have some snacks, Ananya asked:
An: Why are you being so spendthrift? These all was not needed.
Ak: I wanted to do this for you. You never ask me anything and what's the point earning if you cannot spend it on your loved ones. I loved buying those for you and felt so elated.
Ananya eyes were trying to stop the tears from spilling over and with a broken voice she said:
An: Akash, since my parents fell sick nobody had bothered to do anything for me, it was just me and myself.
Akash held her hands and caressed them and said:
Ak: I just want to do everything in this world for you, for your happiness, anything for the smile. I want to fill your life with the colors of the rainbow.

Ananya looked at the dresses that Akash had chosen for her, they were so perfect for each occasion. It was Shefali's mehendi and it was a pale green and pink lehenga that Akash had chosen for her. The choli had fit her perfectly with the tassels swinging on her back tied by two Doris. The duppatta was embellished in gold and in shades of pink and green.Ananya wore her jhumkas and necklace before she rushed to the gate where Akash was waiting wearing an equally immaculate kurta pyjama looking devilishly handsome as ever. He was left struggling with his control the moment he saw Ananya coming towards him. She looked like some dream girl descending just for him and throughout the drive to the marriage venue he could not take his eyes off from Ananya and had to hear fellow traffickers honking at him for not being alert. Akash could not just take his eyes off Ananya and she was blushing and smiling with all his focus on her but she was satisfied that she had taken a long time to dress up for the person who was now lost in her. Akash and Ananya entered the venue of Shefali's marriage and soon Ananya was pulled in by Shefali's cousins and Akash had to go to Kunal's section in the venue. Soon Ananya's phone beeped and it read "Missing you..please let me in somehow".Ananya laughed at his frustration and continued with the mehendi function but the lovebirds kept texting each other.
After a couple of hours once the mehendi was applied to Shefali and the rest , Ananya was on her way out of the hall into the corridor when somebody grabbed her hand and pulled her into a corner. She was about to shout when she noticed it was none other than Akash. Ananya blurted out "What are you up to Akash..what will people think if somebody sees us here".Akash seemed not to be listening to any of her rants and inched closer to her face till their breaths intermingled and Ananya was both scared and jittery anticipating what was about to come. As she struggled with her emotions, she felt Akash whispering her name huskily and as she opened her eyes she saw Akash had just clicked a snap of her in his mobile. He then looked and smiled at her disheveled state and asked:
Ak: Waise tumhein kya lag raha tha ki main kya karne wala hoon
An: Mujhe kya maloom bas sabke beech aise ek kone mein accha nahin lagta
Akash could sense the disappointment in her voice and he knew she expected him to kiss her and only he knew how deparate he was to do the same but in this crowded place he knew it would have been risky and hurried and he wanted both of them to enjoy their first kiss, not this way, definitely not hear. As Ananya ran away lest Akash could see the embarrassment at being caught he heaved a sigh. He saw Ananya stopped on her way and was looking at a couple where the man was feeding the lady because her hands were filled with hena.Akash realized that Ananya and him both were hungry as both were waiting for each other and also that Ananya could not eat with her hands filled with henna.He was soon there with a plate of food on the terrace where Ananya sat looking to oblivion. Akash knew Ananya was hurt but he could not let her go hungry. He stood infront on Ananya holding his ears with a plate of food. Ananya looked from him to the plate of food and vice-versa and then finally smiled and gave up. They just spent some time together with Akash feeding Ananya and Ananya struggling to make Akash eat. Akash dropped Ananya home promising to pick her up the next day.
The next day was the Sangeet as it was a mix of cultures so some of the follow-up rituals were done to suit both sides.The Sangeet was actually done to double up like a bachelor/bachelorette party organized at one of the posh hotels.Ananya had worn a full length black anarkali embossed in white and gold thread work and she looked like a perfect model. Akash was equally dressed in a light grey colored suit with a grey bow and white shirt. They looked wonderful together and apart from the bride and the groom the focus was on this duo. As the sangeet started with the traditional songs, the ladies dragged Ananya on Shefali's request and she being always a lover of dance started dancing to the beat. Soon enough the music had slowly transgressed into the DJ playing various numbers as people ate, drank and danced. Ananya and Akash talked through their eyes as they moved within the crowd and they could hear the DJ announce that if anybody wants to request a song or play anything for their beloved they are requested to come to the deck area. After sometime some of the romantic numbers stated playing with various couples requesting, once the music subsided, Ananya noticed that Akash had picked up the guitar and playing a few notes on it but within seconds he was playing the guitar like a professional and singing with his collar mike tucked in. Ananya smiled looking at him, she did know that he sings and loves playing guitar but she did not know that he was such a professional at it.Akash had the guitar slung around his shoulders as he played out the tunes and mingled with the crowd. He moved between couples urging them to dance to the romantic tunes playing. After couple of minutes the songs stopped and the lights dimmed and Ananya saw some shadows in the dark and suddenly the spotlight was on her. She looked around stunned and then looked infront of her to see Akash standing with his guitar playing one of her favorite song..jeena jeena. It was as if he sang the song for her lost in her thoughts of their moments together.

Ananya and Akash recollected their first meeting at the NIAMS research center
Tere naam pe meri zindagi, Likh di mere humdum
Their first meet at the hospital where they had become friends

They remembered how they had grown close to each other and how they missed each other when they were away.

They recollected the moments when Ananya was about to be hit by a truck and Akash had felt the earth had ended for him.

Akash sat infront of Ananya on his knees and placed a hand on his heart and the crowd went loud with ooh and aahs.

Chap- 25 Bliss
As he finished the song, Akash sat on his knees infront of Ananya asking her for a dance and how could she say no to such a nice proposition. Soon, Akash was twirling Ananya to the tune of a romantic number(teri meri prem kahani hain mushkil do laafzoon mein baayan na ho payein from Bodyguard), dropping her down and then pulling her up, then lifting her up and then rolling her down. Both danced with abandon as they matched each other on the steps. It was followed by a slow romantic number as couples danced together close and intimate along with Ananya and Akash. After a long winding night as the sangeet ceremony drew towards a close and people flocked towards dinner, Shefali and Kunal caught up with Akash and Ananya who were proceeding for dinner and Shefali said:
Sh: So looks like you guys are not able to stay without each other and you are so so much in love.
Ku:Akash..I have given you my most precious little sister as a gift, please take care of her.
Akash looked lovingly at Ananya and said.
Ak: She is my life's most precious gift. I cannot think of living without her or breathing without her. I wake up every morning thinking about her and go to sleep the same way.
On hearing this both Shefali and Ananya had tears in their eyes,
Sh: I am so glad that Ananya finally has found someone to call her own, someone to love her solely and take care of her.
Ak: I don't know why you girls cry for everything, when you are happy, when you are sad, when you are alone
Shefali playfully slapped his hand and said "leave it you won't understand".
Ak: If I have both your permission can I take Ananya out for a long drive.
Shefali and Kunal smiled at each other and nodded their heads in a yes and soon Ananya found herself being pulled by Akaksh into his car as they drove through the almost empty roads at night towards the outskirts of the city with both of them stealing glances at each other but not talking much. Soon Akash was driving on the National Highway and he crept forward and caught Ananya's hand which was lying on her lap. He brought it near to his mouth and lightly brushed against his lips sending a shiver down her spine as his warm lips met her cold ones. Ananya tried to pull away her hand but Akash held on to it not letting it go. They pulled into a highway inn and had some coffee and both of them sat on a small hillock overlooking a small passing by stream glittering in the approaching full moon night. Akash looked at Ananya and said,
Ak: I had always wanted to spend some quality time like this together with you but somehow our busy scheduled did not allow us. Now that we had got this opportunity, I did not want to let go of it.
Ananya just smiled and looked on not knowing what to speak so after sometime Akash asked her again:
Ak: Did you enjoy the evening and I hope you did not mind that I did not ask your permission for taking you out. You are not angry with me right?
On this Ananya still did not reply anything just nodded a no and side hugged Akash and rested her head on his shoulders. After sometime Akash felt something wet on his shoulders and shockingly realized that Ananya was crying. He swiftly turned around and encased her face in his palms and looked at her with pain and asked "Kya hua Ananya tum ro kyun rahi no, maine kuch galat kiya kya".Ananya on hearing him just nodded her head and replied "No you have not done anything wrong. You are the best thing that happened to me and you are asking about just the evening, I enjoy each and every moment that I spend with you. I never knew after my parents died there would be somebody who would love me so much, care about me and my feelings".
Akash then slowly kissed her forehead and then he slipped down to kiss away the tears and that's when he looked at her lush pink lips glistening and finally could not stop him and gradually touched his lips to hers. Contrary to what Akash thought Ananya did not withdraw or back off so encouraged he started tugging at her bottom lip sucking them and then at her upper lip and then gave small bites coaxing her to open her mouth. Slowly she opened her mouth letting him in and he delved and dived deeper to explore the crevices of her mouth, tasting the sweet nectar.Intiailly Ananya was still but slowly Akash found her moving along with him and both were almost pouring their love in the kiss as they craved to taste each other's mouth. They felt as if they were diving into unending heavenly bliss as they continued to plough each other's mouth with Akash pulling her closer and bending her slightly to get better access and Ananya pulling Akash closer by winding her fingers behind his back in his deep silky hair. They continued kissing still they were breathless and had to come up for air. They sat in each other's arms looking at the moonlight night trying to gauge what had just happened between them and the bliss they felt when they kissed. Slowly Akash reached out for Ananya's hand and pressed it softly asking "Are you ok.I just could not hold myself anymore. I am sorry ..." and Ananya had stopped him saying "I guess we both wanted to experience this "..Akash smiled at her as he held her hand and proceeded back home with Ananya much more closer and intimate.
