Part-4
Ananya had never been so happy in the last 1 year. Savita tai looked at her vigorously digging into her dinner and the slight smile that crept into her face. Looking at her questioning face, Ananya told her that there that Shefali might get married soon, just to avoid further questions. Today morning Mr.Kashyap had called her to urgently leave everything and come to his office. Ananya felt it was odd for her to be called to the DIB office since owing to safety and security reasons she had hardly been once to the office apart from when Akash was apparently killed. She had left everything and rushed to the old rustic building in the south of the city to meet Mr.Kashyap. Two days before the IOs seemed to have got hold of a freelance reporter's documentary on terrorist neighborhood training camps. Ananya and Mr.Kashyap went into the private dark room in the back of his cabin to check on the video. At the first look it seemed it's a normal documentary how people are being indoctrinated on the politics of hate and how they are using gullible young unemployed youths in the business of terror. On a closer look when one of the team recruits were boasting how they caught hold of Indian soldiers as well and kept them in captive , in the background a tired , blemished face covered in mud and dirt with torn clothes and an overgrown grey and black beard was visible alongwith some folks in similar condition. Ananya's heart skipped a beat on seeing those eyes, she could identify them even in a milling crowd and as Mr.Kashyap cropped the photograph and photoshoped it and there was Akash clearly visible. Tears of joy had flowed down Ananya's eyes drenching her neatly ironed pristine white shirt as she had hugged Mr.Kashyap out of happiness. The old man had understood her emotions and held her in his fatherly embrace and let her vent out all her pain and loneliness .
After coming out of the initial reaction of seeing her Akash alive, Mr.Kashyap had spoken of the harsh reality that getting back Akash from a terrorist camp would be next to impossible and they had very less chances of getting him back. Ananya on seeing her love alive was determined now to get him back at any cost, even if she needed to beg, borrow or steal. She was determined to do the impossible and in the process she was ready to sacrifice her ethics, honesty, rules anything required to get back Akash. Mr.Kashyap had promised all support financially and with network in the right places. He had also put two IOs with her to follow the trail. The starting point of their search was the creator of the documentary and Ananya was all set to meet him the next day. Since, Mr.Kashyap had asked to keep the information a secret as the information was key to Akash being alive and leakage would jeopardize his life so Ananya was forced to lie to Savita tai. She would have lot of time to apologize once Akash was back , she thought as she finished writing the diary and put it in the locker for the day. She had a big day tomorrow and she had to prepare for maybe her life's biggest challenge.
Next morning Ananya and Subhankar(IO) met the maker of the documentary Mr.Prakash Mulund. The middle aged, well built, short and stout man seemed to have loads of working experience in the field. His studio was pretty unkempt and various materials lay dumped and scattered as he clamored to tidy it up a bit so his guests would not be offended. Ananya and Subhankar were hardly perturbed by this as they had come on a mission and every minute mattered to them. Both of them briefed Mr.Mulund about Akash although keeping his DIB story away and majorly focusing on the family and pilot part of this life. They told him that they had chanced upon the video on youtube and they came looking for him to figure out how to get to Ananya's husband and the father of two small souls and to know the reason as to why such an innocent citizen was doing in the terrorist cells. Mr. Mulund, seemed to Ananya to be a nice guy but Mr.Kashyap had his strict instructions so they had to keep the DIB story hidden. They managed to figure out all the details regarding the camp and the location so that they could figure out the people whom they need to contact to get Akash freed. Ananya was a warrior always but never knew life would throw her so many challenges. She now knew that this would involve officials in multiple countries and negotiations of highest level to get Akash back to her. This is probably a battle she would never win but she was made of strong metal and would not let it go without a fight. As of now what she needed were powerful people who would be able to influence the echelons of power in the country. She had to reach out to every one she knew in this world who was powerful or could influence the powerful. Her biggest support in this activity was DIB and Rohit, her best friend and CEO of Inde Airlines.
Precap: Sneak peek into Akash Ananya love story
Part-5
Ananya's life now revolved around reaching to Akash at the earliest and getting him out. She wrote about her encounters each day in her diary so she could narrate them as is once Akash was back and not forgetting a single day or a single instance. The will to meet Akash became stronger for her with each passing day and her efforts also to get him back as well. Ananaya wrote
"Rohit, not only ran the airlines business but his father was one of the most renowned in the country .They had businesses in processed food, leather goods, bauxite mining etc. Rohit and I travelled to Mumbai to meet some top businessman who had flourishing trade in Myanmar and could influence the government to talk to these folks and maybe influence the release of Akash. Rohit and his father Mohit Mafatlal had advised me not be part of the discussion but just be around in case they need some info. I had left it to them since they knew better how they would negotiate with these folks. I stayed back at the beach hotel which Rohit had booked for me and waited looking at my watch every minute. Hours passed by watching the people walking, playing as the waves seem to be calling out the shores with full of love and running into the open arms of the shore and soaking them unabashedly in the colors of love. It was one of our flight to Mumbai when we knew that our attraction for each other was just more than being friends and co-pilots. For months we have been flying together and we loved flying with each other. Sometimes you would applaud me for being good at my job and sometime you would apprehend me for not saying a no or being emotional. Our flights together were never boring and had always a lot of surprises and a lot of discovering ourselves. Although at that point we were scared to admit but we missed flying with each other, on the days the roaster had somebody else in place of me or you. One fine morning we both had flown to Mumbai and had both together travelled to the hotel where we were supposed to stay for 2 days before we flew back to Delhi. We both had decided to take a day off for Capt Sekhawat's sangeet ceremony as we would not be able to make it for his wedding here. Since we were due to anyways fly to Mumbai we decided to attend this event as well.
As we both entered the lobby of the hotel, collected our room keys and started walking towards the elevator, I heard a very familiar voice, an old tall man walking towards us. I was both shocked and surprised and completely forgot Akash beside me and called out-Dad, you here. How have you been, its been such a long time .The old man looked shocked initially and then a little irritated and asked me -who are you and why do you call me Dad. I said -I am Ananya, your and Radha's daughter .He looked at me gave a faint smile and then said-nice to see you but I don't want to meet nor look back at my past so it would be good if you also move on. Saying those words he had walked away and I had stood there like a statue unable to move or talk. I had just looked blankly at the space before me, the space where a man was standing a few minutes ago, the man whom the world calls as my father and my mom as her husband and the same man who was not happy to see me. Akash, you had heard every bit of the conversation and had pulled or rather dragged me to the elevator before people started noticing my state of shock. I do not remember how u dragged me to my room, opened the door and pushed me in and made me sit and held a glass of water to my lips. Everything was blur to me as I drank the crystal clear liquid trying to cool my nerves and surge myself back to reality. As I slowly felt coming out of the shock I found a pair of dark eyes intensely looking at me out of curiosity, love or empathy, I did not know but at the moment I just wanted to drown in those dark pools. I just could not hold it anymore, I flung myself at you and just started let all the tears flow. I still remember how you held me and continuously patted my back. I did not know how long I had sobbed and when I had drifted of to sleep. When I woke up from my slumber, I had found you sitting beside me reading some magazine. That afternoon you had never left me alone for a single moment and even had almost force fed when I had refused to have lunch. You had literally blackmailed me into eating and going out to juhu chowpathi at evening.
I admit now that I had fallen completely and irrevocably in love with you probably that day but at that time could not put a finger on it. The whole evening we had spent walking on the beach, playing in the sands, going on rides , eating golgappas .Towards late in the evening I had insisted and we had walked along the beach together. As the winds blew, I noticed you staring at me and then as if on instinct you had lifted your hand and held the loose strands of my hair and put them behind my ears and the touch had sent shivers in my body and I had closed my eyes to soak myself in the feeling. I felt as if your fingers lingering a little too much near the back of my earlobe and as I opened my eyes , I noticed you giving me a sexy smirk of yours .Then we had again walked a few meters before you had held my hand and smiled at me. This time I also wanted to go with the flow and had interlaced my fingers with yours and we had walked together till almost it was late night. When I had retired back to my room I had paused before entering my room and said thanks for everything but today I admit Akash, I had wanted to give you a tight hug that day for making me forget all my pains and literally making me move on.
