Hey Behna. Lovely analysis! You pretty much covered everything, my post is a mere addendum to what you said, though it's in the guise of an essay๐
At this point I am furious with Akash. I have made no bones about the fact that he is my favorite character in the show (the second being Ananya๐), but the way in which he's stringing the two ladies along is not appropriate. Granted that he is not doing it intentionally, but he is just hurting both Ananya and Natasha in the process.๐I soo much agree with you on thisThe way in which he refuses to confront his feelings tells us that he's probably afraid of the implications of an affair with a woman, which might put her in danger. Considering that he's investigating something of a high-profile nature (a terrorist plot?), his fear is justified and founded in reality. And personally, Akash is a very honorable man. He is likable, empathetic and generous, and the fact that he is chivalrous and generous is just the icing on the cake. At this point, however, he needs to resolve this conflict between his personal and professional life that seems to be wreaking a lot of havoc in the lives of Ananya and Natasha. As much as I dislike the clingy Natasha, I did feel sorry for her. The fact that she is a little vicious and a snob doesn't mean that she is devoid of feeling. Akash must emphatically clarify the status quo with her, because otherwise, he is just stringing her along, like other men do. Maybe he's doing it out of consideration for his old friend, but in any case, it's not nice. Just stupid.๐กBut I probably feel more for our earnest Ananya than Natasha. Perhaps we are biased towards her because she is a nice person; our heroine- and it's practically a given that we will support her. But even if you look at the situation objectively, it's she who's caught in the crossfire for no fault of her own.At least Natasha has Akash's friendship. The two share a camaraderie by virtue of their history, and their...mess is of their own making. But Ananya doesn't even have that! She does not even know Akash that well! The dinner was probably the first time they had a full-fledged, informal conversation. Regardless of how they've been breaking the ice recently, Akash and Ananya will always be bound by the chain of command. She is his subordinate, and he, her superior officer; and this hierarchy will always persist.Note how many times in the episode he 'orders' her to do something-though he's just doing it to persuade her for all the good reasons, either to get into the taxi with him, or to take the room keys for herself and let him sleep in the lounge. He's being a gentleman and a good superior officer, but I don't know whether their workplace dynamic will be conducive to their interpersonal relations.Strangely, Akash and Natasha easily bypass the same hierarchy because of their familiarity, as evidenced by Natasha's slip of the tongue and her referring to Capt. Saluja as 'Akash' quite often. People do not find it strange because everyone knows of their history. But they ironically look askance at Ananya and Akash's propinquity.Let's also remember that the air-hostesses of Inde Air, who are women, are not really fond of Ananya because she is a woman in a man's world, doing a job that a man 'ought' to do. Remember how Natasha enraged was that she had to serve Ananya sandwiches in the first episode? They regard her with suspicion, because for them Ananya is not someone trying to break the glass ceiling in a male-dominated field, but a weak and vulnerable woman completely unfit to do the job. They resent and envy her for doing something challenging and different, perhaps even superior. There might be a point, where Ananya's gender comes into play in judging her ability. I am envisaging a situation where Ananya being a woman, a beautiful one at that, gets her into trouble. She might be accused of using her sexuality to get benefits from her male superiors, though nothing could be further from the truth. People have already started commenting on the 'chemistry' between Ananya and Akash. Capt. Prashant made a nauseating speech laced with sexual innuendos- about her 'long fingers', asking her whether she packed a little black dress, how pretty she looked even in her uniform, and his phisalna๐ก He even propositioned her under the guise of having drinks! And soon this Rohit fellow might also be friendly towards her and attracted to her.So with all the male attention coming her way, the poor thing might be accused of horrible things, and tongues ARE going to wag, especially of the misogynistic and bull-headed Capt. Rathore's and the malicious Natasha's. There might even be a situation where Ananya is sexually harassed by Capt. Prashant in case they commandeer another flight together. All I hope is that they show her standing up for herself and her dignity. And that ultimately, at the end of the series, people come to respect her prowess than judging her constantly for the fact that she's a woman. And I felt so sorry for her at the end of the episode. She seems like a shy, serious person, ambitious and diligent. By her own admission, she has not had a boyfriend (perhaps choosing consciously not to). And here is Akash, flirting with her left, right and center- complimenting her hair, bantering with her, calling her affectionate nicknames ("Rules ki Devi"), teasing her, etc,. She is flustered by his attention, and does not know how to respond to it. It's all very new to her, as testified by her blushing and her inability to muster an articulate response. Though of course, she does have her own share of comebacks, and can give back as good as she gets. No wonder that Akash is smitten by this firecracker of a woman.๐ณExactly my thoughts. As per her monologue and by her own admission she is probably falling for a man the first time and she does not know where she stands in her love's life. At a later point of time maybe a few episodes down when there love story progresses this will be a point where there might be serious trust issues if Akaksh does not clear his stand and Ananya is not sure whether her wait is goin to be fruitful or endless. Superb analysis of Ananya's character.I must say Tulip was good in this episode. And to be fair to Akash-his flirting is quite clean and not laced with innuendos like Capt. Prashant.Yet, he IS demonstrating his interest in her, only to withdraw and go running to Natasha the very next moment! Blowing hot and cold like this will get him nowhere, if in the future he seeks to have at least a good working relationship with, by his own admission, this gorgeous and 'feisty' first officer.PRECAP- Poor Ananya. Har udaan ek tufan hii hai uske zindagi mein. Can't she ever catch a break? Methinks she has an injury in her leg, may be her ankle is broken or something.

Hey, thanks for liking my post๐ I really felt sorry for Ananya at the end of the episode. More so because Akash is the only friend (?) she has at her workplace. If he too behaves with her this way, the girl is going to have a hard time. And so will Akash, later on, when Ananya cannot bring herself to confide in himYes, Tulip has improved and impressed me with her portrayal of Ananya in this episode. The flustered look, the blushing, the attraction- everything was spot on.BTW, why do you think Akash hid Ananya's hairband? Just playfulness, or something else?๐ณ Lovely post:)
I think Akash is falling for our Lady deeply and irrevocably but will take sometime to come to terms with the truth. I think when he realizes that he is in love and miss her is when this band will come inot play. By the way your character analysis are bang-on and I really love to read your posts..Btw the forum has been going bonkers on Himanshoo's entry so what's your take on it. My thoughts are based on reading few articles...there is bound to be some jealousy induced because it is said to be a love story of two pilots. But, a toi article says he will play a pivotal role so it has got me ticking.I think these stories of he being paired etc. is just to keep audience hooked. I think he is going to the pivot in the mystery part.I am starting thinking on lines of Kahani ..๐loving this guessing game..
