Hey Behna. Lovely analysis! You pretty much covered everything, my post is a mere addendum to what you said, though it's in the guise of an essay๐Ÿ˜‰

At this point I am furious with Akash. I have made no bones about the fact that he is my favorite character in the show (the second being Ananya๐Ÿ˜Š), but the way in which he's stringing the two ladies along is not appropriate. Granted that he is not doing it intentionally, but he is just hurting both Ananya and Natasha in the process.๐Ÿ˜•
I soo much agree with you on this

The way in which he refuses to confront his feelings tells us that he's probably afraid of the implications of an affair with a woman, which might put her in danger. Considering that he's investigating something of a high-profile nature (a terrorist plot?), his fear is justified and founded in reality. And personally, Akash is a very honorable man. He is likable, empathetic and generous, and the fact that he is chivalrous and generous is just the icing on the cake. At this point, however, he needs to resolve this conflict between his personal and professional life that seems to be wreaking a lot of havoc in the lives of Ananya and Natasha.

As much as I dislike the clingy Natasha, I did feel sorry for her. The fact that she is a little vicious and a snob doesn't mean that she is devoid of feeling. Akash must emphatically clarify the status quo with her, because otherwise, he is just stringing her along, like other men do. Maybe he's doing it out of consideration for his old friend, but in any case, it's not nice. Just stupid.๐Ÿ˜ก

But I probably feel more for our earnest Ananya than Natasha. Perhaps we are biased towards her because she is a nice person; our heroine- and it's practically a given that we will support her. But even if you look at the situation objectively, it's she who's caught in the crossfire for no fault of her own.

At least Natasha has Akash's friendship. The two share a camaraderie by virtue of their history, and their...mess is of their own making. But Ananya doesn't even have that! She does not even know Akash that well! The dinner was probably the first time they had a full-fledged, informal conversation. Regardless of how they've been breaking the ice recently, Akash and Ananya will always be bound by the chain of command. She is his subordinate, and he, her superior officer; and this hierarchy will always persist.

Note how many times in the episode he 'orders' her to do something-though he's just doing it to persuade her for all the good reasons, either to get into the taxi with him, or to take the room keys for herself and let him sleep in the lounge. He's being a gentleman and a good superior officer, but I don't know whether their workplace dynamic will be conducive to their interpersonal relations.

Strangely, Akash and Natasha easily bypass the same hierarchy because of their familiarity, as evidenced by Natasha's slip of the tongue and her referring to Capt. Saluja as 'Akash' quite often. People do not find it strange because everyone knows of their history. But they ironically look askance at Ananya and Akash's propinquity.

Let's also remember that the air-hostesses of Inde Air, who are women, are not really fond of Ananya because she is a woman in a man's world, doing a job that a man 'ought' to do. Remember how Natasha enraged was that she had to serve Ananya sandwiches in the first episode? They regard her with suspicion, because for them Ananya is not someone trying to break the glass ceiling in a male-dominated field, but a weak and vulnerable woman completely unfit to do the job. They resent and envy her for doing something challenging and different, perhaps even superior.

There might be a point, where Ananya's gender comes into play in judging her ability. I am envisaging a situation where Ananya being a woman, a beautiful one at that, gets her into trouble. She might be accused of using her sexuality to get benefits from her male superiors, though nothing could be further from the truth. People have already started commenting on the 'chemistry' between Ananya and Akash. Capt. Prashant made a nauseating speech laced with sexual innuendos- about her 'long fingers', asking her whether she packed a little black dress, how pretty she looked even in her uniform, and his phisalna๐Ÿ˜ก He even propositioned her under the guise of having drinks! And soon this Rohit fellow might also be friendly towards her and attracted to her.

So with all the male attention coming her way, the poor thing might be accused of horrible things, and tongues ARE going to wag, especially of the misogynistic and bull-headed Capt. Rathore's and the malicious Natasha's. There might even be a situation where Ananya is sexually harassed by Capt. Prashant in case they commandeer another flight together.

All I hope is that they show her standing up for herself and her dignity. And that ultimately, at the end of the series, people come to respect her prowess than judging her constantly for the fact that she's a woman.

And I felt so sorry for her at the end of the episode. She seems like a shy, serious person, ambitious and diligent. By her own admission, she has not had a boyfriend (perhaps choosing consciously not to). And here is Akash, flirting with her left, right and center- complimenting her hair, bantering with her, calling her affectionate nicknames ("Rules ki Devi"), teasing her, etc,. She is flustered by his attention, and does not know how to respond to it. It's all very new to her, as testified by her blushing and her inability to muster an articulate response. Though of course, she does have her own share of comebacks, and can give back as good as she gets. No wonder that Akash is smitten by this firecracker of a woman.๐Ÿ˜ณ
Exactly my thoughts. As per her monologue and by her own admission she is probably falling for a man the first time and she does not know where she stands in her love's life. At a later point of time maybe a few episodes down when there love story progresses this will be a point where there might be serious trust issues if Akaksh does not clear his stand and Ananya is not sure whether her wait is goin to be fruitful or endless. Superb analysis of Ananya's character.I must say Tulip was good in this episode.

And to be fair to Akash-his flirting is quite clean and not laced with innuendos like Capt. Prashant.Yet, he IS demonstrating his interest in her, only to withdraw and go running to Natasha the very next moment! Blowing hot and cold like this will get him nowhere, if in the future he seeks to have at least a good working relationship with, by his own admission, this gorgeous and 'feisty' first officer.

PRECAP- Poor Ananya. Har udaan ek tufan hii hai uske zindagi mein. Can't she ever catch a break? Methinks she has an injury in her leg, may be her ankle is broken or something.

Hey, thanks for liking my post๐Ÿ˜Š I really felt sorry for Ananya at the end of the episode. More so because Akash is the only friend (?) she has at her workplace. If he too behaves with her this way, the girl is going to have a hard time. And so will Akash, later on, when Ananya cannot bring herself to confide in him

Yes, Tulip has improved and impressed me with her portrayal of Ananya in this episode. The flustered look, the blushing, the attraction- everything was spot on.

BTW, why do you think Akash hid Ananya's hairband? Just playfulness, or something else?๐Ÿ˜ณ Lovely post:)

I think Akash is falling for our Lady deeply and irrevocably but will take sometime to come to terms with the truth. I think when he realizes that he is in love and miss her is when this band will come in to play. As of now he is as u said clearly showing his interest and trying to queer the pitch .He is clearly fascinated by our Lady.By the way your character analysis are bang-on and I really love to read your posts..
Btw the forum has been going bonkers on Himanshoo's entry so what's your take on it. My thoughts are based on reading few articles...there is bound to be some jealousy induced because it is said to be a love story of two pilots. But, a toi article says he will play a pivotal role so it has got me ticking.I think these stories of he being paired etc. is just to keep audience hooked. I think he is going to the pivot in the mystery part.I am starting thinking on lines of Kahani ..๐Ÿ˜‰loving this guessing game..

Bold part- Amen to that!๐Ÿ˜ƒ As you pointed out, there is a definite connection/ attraction which is slowly transitioning into romantic love. At this point, he seems to be holding himself back because of all the complications in his life (His undercover life, his friendship with Natasha).

His half-hearted rebuttal about anything cooking between him and Ananya, and how she's just a co-pilot said it all๐Ÿ˜‰ Even Natasha who was drunk to the gills spotted it- "I know there's something more", I think she said. But denial is not going to help Akash any because he has a new competitor on the scene. And yeah, would love to see the hairband playing a part later. I think he put it in his pocket, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š

And I love your posts too, they are so clear-cut and coherent. Your analyses are very interesting and I look forward to them always.๐Ÿ˜Š

As for Himanshoo, I like that actor because he's very handsome.๐Ÿ˜ณ So I welcome the new character because I always like the beautiful-heroine-caught-between-two-guys- scenario. Yes, I am THAT shallow.๐Ÿ˜† But not so much that I'd prefer Akash over Rohit for Ananya, because he is our hero, after all.It is just a jealousy-inducing plot, as you said. All I'd like to see is Akash getting a much deserved kick in the pants and waking up to the reality of his feelings for his 'co-pilot'.๐Ÿ˜‰

In the future tracks, I see Rohit's appearance messing up the fine dynamic that Akash and Ananya have gotten into. Even if nothing else exists between them (which is hard to believe), they have become good friends. The camaraderie between them is palpable at the moment.More importantly, I see how in every episode Akash hones Ananya's flying skills and teaches her something important. Like the one in which he soars above, when he's actually required to lower the altitude as per the rules.

When Ananya learns of how his superior skills and instinct saved the situation, she was very impressed. He seems to have taken on the mantle of a personal mentor for her, and it is a role that he revels in. For eg, in last week's episode, when Ananya mentioned about the Category II something, which impressed Akash till no end. It's almost like he is her guru, taking pride in his pupil's accomplishments.

Now this Rohit guy is apparently passionate about flying. That spells trouble for their mentor-mentee relationship because Ananya's flying hours with Akash might be preempted by this newbie. Surely that would irk Akash. Particularly if Ananya bonds over flying with the new guy, because that is a bond that Akash shares only with her. Not even Natasha, an old friend, can have that bonding with Akash.

This Rohit is also a prototype of Sid Mallya, as per the articles. If he is the son of the airline owner, it is a given that he will play a pivotal plot in the story. I also read in an interview that at one point in time the airline will have a financial crisis like Kingfisher. Maybe they'll show something on the lines of how this financial crisis prompted the owner to resort to shady means to avoid bankruptcy. Perhaps the son will be involved in these illegal activities, perhaps he won't. In any case, we should be suspicious of all the characters, except Ananya and Akash and perhaps Shaifu, since the writer of a movie like Kahaani will have an ace card up her sleeve and give us a rude shock in the end.

After this episode I also think that Ananya will give Akash a cold shoulder because she's previously let her heart rule during her interactions with him, and it led her nowhere. But now that she was spurned TWO times in favour of Natasha, she will certainly be more careful with her feelings. She might restrict their interactions to being of a strictly professional nature And Akash may attribute their growing distance to the new entry๐Ÿคข Their relationship is still at a nascent stage, more like attraction and mutual admiration at this point. Let us see where it leads them. I, for one, am enjoying the ride๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I agree unless he sees Ananya in a life threatening situation or somebody else as his competitor Akash will probably not understand his true feelings for Ananya and her importance in his life.

His half-hearted rebuttal about anything cooking between him and Ananya, and how she's just a co-pilot said it all๐Ÿ˜‰ Even Natasha who was drunk to the gills spotted it- "I know there's something more", I think she said. Oh!! yes how did I forget Natasha in her drunk state did not forget their chemistry.I think she ideal sp villain now.Yes , you are right he put the band in his pocket.

I am rolling with laughter after reading the above lines and I cannot agree more on this.

In the future tracks, I see Rohit's appearance messing up the fine dynamic that Akash and Ananya have gotten into. Exactly, Akash has always been stressing the fact that she is a good pilot and he feels proud when he sees her learn from him and his deduction about her coming true that she is eqully good although inexperienced.

Frankly speaking I do not think this guy will be flying a commercial plane. My father owns a airlines does not mean I can just get in a cockpit and start flying.I mean that is my way of looking at it. Maybe at times he will be around the crew .Some of the articles did say he is a pilot but these are generally wrong or it is deliberate to take us away from the mystery angle.Let's wait n watch.

After this episode I also think that Ananya will give Akash a cold shoulder because she's previously let her heart rule during her interactions with him, and it led her nowhere. I for once think Akash will misunderstand Ananya and this new guy's relation and that's when they will have a showdown where Ananya will remind him how he left her in lurch at one call from Natasha and how can she trust him.I infact want her to do that to drill into his romantic portion of his fat head that he needs to sort out his relationships and determine their boundaries.

^ We seem to think on similar lines. I concur with each and every word of yours.

Now I want Ananya to ignore Akash royally in the next episode, and for the latter to finally feel the pinch. Let us see:)
