I get very happy when I get into the skin of a negative character - Nikhil Deewan

Actor Nikhil Deewan, a theatre actor and drama artist from Delhi is presently doing a stellar job as the MCP character of Rathore in Star Plus' Airlines - Har Udaan Ek Toofan (Miditech India).

Rathore is a strict pilot who believes in his rules of conduct and wants his juniors, especially Ananya (Tulip Joshi) to adhere to what he says. Well, this character has given the actor a lot of appreciation, and his taqiya kalam' -Main baat karne ka andaaz pakadta hoon' has gotten very popular.

Says Nikhil, "Aah, the twitter Airlines Fan Club goes gaga on seeing me in action. They like the way I use my taqiya kalam' and I am being appreciated for my work. They like the fact that I do complete justice to the rude character that I play. If viewers hate me, then that is a victory for me as an actor. It is a great feeling to be part of Airlines, playing one of the main characters."

Nikhil who started his career with theatre work in Delhi 10 years back got his first break as an actor with Lajja on Sony TV, produced by Edit II. He has done a show for Sahara One, Kise Apna Kahein, Rahein for Zee TV, Stree for DD1 and many episodics in CID, Crime Patrol and Savdhan India.

Being a Delhite, he is happy that he got to bag a show shot in Delhi. "Usually, not many good shows get shot in Delhi. But when Airlines happened to me, I was glad. I am now looking for good work that gives me a challenge as an actor."

Ask him what actually pleases him as an actor and he says, "I prefer doing a good character, by I love to do negative roles. I am good at comedy too, but I am very happy when I get into the skin of a negative character (smiles)."

He does make the viewers' skin crawl with his arrogant attitude and male chauvinistic remarks. He is truly doing perfect justice to his character. TFS Alujna!
