Have to admit, Akash is perhaps one of the most decent and relatable male protagonists I've seen on Indian Television since a long, long time.
He's neither the borderline abusive, angry young man types so adored by the masses(including yours trulyπ), nor is he completely soft and docile. He's very, very human, and a relatable one at that.
He is very courteous to all the ladies- be it Ananya, Mahima and her sister, and even Natasha. Not disrespectful towards them like the sneaky Capt. Rathore, the flirtatious Karan or the worst of the lot- Prashant π€’ who harassed Ananya at her place of work.
At the same time, he is stern while on duty, which is a professional requirement, considering the immense responsibility that his job brings. And is also moody sometimes, natural because of the 'double life' he is leading. He can't seem to catch the perpetrators responsible for Mahima's death, who are also perhaps the ones he's looking into.
And his treatment of the female protagonist- he underestimated her initially and squabbled with her. But he was quick to recognize his fault, as well as Ananya's potential.
He doesn't grab her arm or belittle her. He's not chauvinistic, doesn't patronise Ananya, but guides her gently by banking on his experience. For eg, the way he acknowledges her as a good first officer who needs to occasionally have a sobering effect on her superior officer and put her foot down when he's being impulsive or wrong.
He seems more at ease with Ananya now and there's this good camaraderie between them. Loving their dynamic, which at present seems to be more of a mentor-mentee relationship, and seems to be progressing fast into a good friendship. He seems to be in awe of how much she lets her heart rule her decisions, and how determined she is to succeed in a largely male-dominated field. The way he encourages her is awesome.
Kudos to the writers for giving us a hero we can like, admire, and relate toπ
