Ronit roy doesn't want to be called a judge but says he is a friend, philosopher and guide to the participants of Aajaa Mahi Vay | |
The most visible face in the daily soap scene is fast becoming the most visible face on reality shows as well. After participating in two dance reality shows, Ronit Roy is now judging a third. STAR Plus's Aajaa Mahi Vay will see Mahaabhaarat's Bhishma Pitamah in the judges' seat with Shweta Tiwari and Apara Mehta. A t2 chat… On being a judge after being a participant… I have participated in two dance reality shows so far. At the time of the first (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa) I was a student and during the second (Yeh Hai Jalwa), I was the coach who brought together a couple of novices and danced our way to the finals, which I think is no mean accomplishment. On Aajaa Mahi Vay, I am going to use the experience that I have garnered on these two shows and share them with the participants. I wouldn't really like to be referred to as a judge on the show. I would rather be a friend, philosopher and guide to the contestants. On Aajaa Mahi Vay being different… The concept of the show is its USP. The participants are not here for fame or money, but are here for love. They are all facing hurdles in their respective relationships and the show is a medium to prove to their people how deep their love is. I think that's what makes Aajaa Mahi Vay different from the rest. On his co-judges… I have worked with both Aparaji and Shweta for six long years. Aparaji and I are extremely comfortable working with each other and that should extend to Aajaa Mahi Vay as well. Shweta and I have great chemistry on screen as is evident from the Bajaj-Prerna pairing in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Since then, Shweta has grown as a human being and I have grown older (laughs). I am looking forward to being on the show with both of them. On the avalanche of dance shows... I am no analyst or strategist to actually comment on this. But all I can say is that there is a section of the audience that enjoys these shows, that is a part of reality television. The day the audience stops liking these shows, they will no longer be made. On juggling so many shows… For the last couple of years, I have always been a part of at least three shows at any given point of time. It's either been Kyunki-Kasautii-Kasamh Se or Kyunki-Kasamh Se-Kayamath or Kyunki-Kayamath-Jalwa and now Kyunki-Aajaa Mahi Vay-Mahaabhaarat. So doing so many shows at a time has never really been a problem for me. Also, I have no extra-curricular activities as such. I don't party, I don't socialise and I don't drink. All my spare time is spent with my family. And whenever I can manage some time off, I go on a vacation with my wife and kids. |
