He wins your heart with his smile and innocent face. Rahul Pendkalkar has made a name for himself, when it comes to child actors in theentertainment industry. The 11-year old has starred in films like 'Wake Up Sid', 'Rann', 'My Friend Ganesha 3', 'Ghajini', 'Lafangey Parindey' and 'Delhi Belly'.
Last, he was found working in the daily soapHitler Didi on the small screen. Rahul, who has been acting since he was five years old, has been seen in many commercials and TV shows. In the city recently, Rahul, was here to promote a new reality show for kids โ India's Best Draamebaaz. He says, "Reality shows mainly revolve around singing and dancing, but this will focus on acting."
Dressed in a black and yellow jacket, Rahul cuddles up on the sofa and comfortably starts talking like a grown up star who is ready for an interview. He recalls his experience of working with the Big B โAmitabh Bachchan in movie Rann. He says, "He does a lot of masti with me and he also plays with me." Rahul, who is currently enjoying his share of fame and adulation says that he is able to handle his studies also well. He says, "I don't have problems with my studies even if I'm shooting. When I go back to school after completing a shoot, myfriends tell me, 'tu kahan tha itne din, bohot padhaya hai...jaldi complete kar do'."
On his first visit to the city, Rahul tells us that he is a foodie and love eating aloo matar ki sabzi."My mom is a Punjabi and my dad is a Marathi. People write wrong spellings of my surname all the time but my dad has told me to retain it even when I grow up," he says. Like all boys, Rahul gets more interested as the conversation steers towards his other big interest after acting โ football. "I love watching and playing football. I like to dance and swim too."
Ask him what he aspires to be when he grows up and he replies, "Actor!" He then adds, "I would also like to be a lawyer as I have family members who are lawyers." On a parting note he tells us, "I am looking forward to playing Chiku in a new show Housewife Hai Sab Jaanti Hai."
