Age showing on Salman

Audience beware: Pictures of Sallu in Veer with a ripped body may be misleading.

Shown in promotional material of his next big film with a six-pack like he had 20 years ago, Salman doesn't quite look like that at the moment.

In his early 40s, Salman sports a puffy face, as these pictures show, and the wash board stomach is, if not a belly yet, thicker than it used to be. Reporters invited to the sets of Veer saw a Salman looking quite run down. "He had big bags under his eyes and the once-taut chest was a little flabby," said one of them, "He was wearing loose trousers and a fur vest for the shot that the promotional picture also has and he looked nothing like the picture. He sat slouched on his chair and his midriff looked soft."

Salman is known for his relentless fitness regime. But he is equally famous for his lifestyle and shaandar parties. Salman loves his drink, and his smokes, and doesn't believe in hiding either habit. In fact the actor is known to throw get togethers for the smallest occasions at his home in Bandra. And it looks like his lifestyle is finally catching up with the actor.

Many close associates of the star insist that Khan is still one of the fittest amongst others in Bollywood and trains every day for at least a couple of hours. If unable to make time in the day, the actor often trains late at night or even cycles from home to the sets in Film City.

Salman has worked on his hair and has additional strands woven in to help deal with hair loss - a must if he wants to continue playing the dashing lover boy on screen.

Here are pictures of Salman on the last five occassions that we caught him...

Salman at a promotional event for Saawariya in October 2007. The actor looked very much in shape.

In March this year we spotted Khan at a derby and the actor was seen wearing dark shades all day. The face looked slightly puffy from the last time we had seen him.

In a month's time when we met Khan again in April the bags under his eyes were quite prominent.

In August Salman had stopped tucking his shirt in - something he almost always did - and the beginning of a double chin could be seen too. Once again the eyes and the face was all puffy too.
