BE  MINE (Maaneet ff)

PART 1

Maan and geet were studying in 2th standard, same school but they were not friends just classmates ! Geet was new to school,but Maan was not, He is smart, charming, mischevious boy! He used to be top in everything,whether it’s about studies, sports, dance or other things, in other words he was perfect in everything he does. He was a friend only to boys but not girls ! he used to maintain a distance with girls reason unknown to him.

Geet is also a very intelligent and cute girl. But being in new school made her nervous and scared, she used to cry for every little things.

Always being the topper teachers used to forgive maan for his naughty things. He teases geet a lot ! also gave her a name cry baby!!. This made her fume in anger and was determined not to cry over small things, she started to compete with maan in everything, his studies, sports etc..... so thats she becomes leader of the class and complain her teacher about maan.... this continued til they reached 7th standard. But somethings changed between them! He used to crack jokes with his friends only to see her smiling form. They used to stare at each other, fight with each other! There was an unknown pull between them! In 8th standard her wish got fulfilled she was first in class,even got a prize for that and her happiness new no bounds knowing she won over Maan! After completion of summer holidays when she reached her school the surrounding air felt different to her and she was feeling uneasy !!  after entering into the class she got to know from her friends that Maan went to another school and this surely hit her hard there was some unknown pain in her heart! She doesn’t know why he went off suddenly without saying her anything! She felt dejected as if he was her friend and he went off without saying her the reason of his sudden missing!  but he was not even her friend then why was she feeling this sudden numbness, she doesn’t know!! She thought for a moment and remembered his words i dont know if i will be staying in this school next year!! My mother wants me to join other school !! he said these words looking straight in her eyes... there was something in his eyes she don’t know what! was that pain?...... She doesn’t know then that he was serious about him going to other school, otherwise she could have done something?  NOO i couldn’t have done anything who is he to her! anyways, He is nothing to me not even a friend !! AAH why am i even thinking about that khadoos! forget about him she thought . but her heart has different saying to her mind she missed him terribly, she missed to fight with him, compete with him, tease him, irritate him, stare at him .......she missed every single thing about him. Thinking about all this , she was close to him but was never too close so that they can share a friendship at least!! All they expressed their feels to each other was by fighting with each other or stare at each other, those moments felt a bliss to her now, because she could read his eyes well!! they expressed same feelings as her, their liking towards each other but she  never got a chance to confess him and his sudden missing resulted in their seperation, the seperation without even the start of their love story !!

AFTER 10 YEARS

Geet is now 24 years old she became pretty beautiful and kind in Nature. She is doing her reasearch now!

Geet’s family is a very reserved middle class family and they want her to get married this year. Marriage this word she was not sure whether she is ready for that.... all this thought process lead her to only one person and she doesn’t want to think about him ! where was he, what was he doing. How was he ... she doesn’t want to know anything !! yes by coming years after her highschool she got to know that she had fallen for him and it was not infatuation which she thought it was ! she was unable to forget about him, he fighting with her, cracking jokes only to see her smile, teasing her.... all this moments were unforgettable memories to her and she used to cry every night thinking about hin ..... But now she doesn’t want to think about him anymore, after so many years !! she got to know about him from her schoolmates that he did his engineering and one thing about him that never changed was he keeping his distance from girls.... and that made her smile sadly may be he never liked me and i was the only one fallen for him. If he even a cent percent liked her then he could have come for me but he was not! so this proves he never liked her!! She thought and was determined that she will forget about him and Will never think about him.....!

GEET’S HOUSE

“Hey Geet...” said pink and meera entering into the house with smiling faces

“OMG pinky .... meera .... i cant believe what a surprise “geet exclaimed hugging them. She was surprised to see both of her friends at her house after a very long time. Pinky and meera were her dearest school friends but they were not in touch with her as they all were busy in their own lives.

 so sudden whats the matter asked geet gesturing them to seat...

“ Geet next month is my wedding “said meera blushing giving invitation card to her

“wow congractulations but so sudden?” said geet looking at the card

“ Hmm thanks love marriage hai “ said meera blusing and continued “ engagement and all the rituals of the wedding are in shimla so you have to come no exemptions “ she said sternly knowing geet will not come once getting to know that the wedding is in outskirts of delhi.

“offoo love marriage I'm so happy for you meera... But.... you do know how’s my reasearch i can’t take those many leaves and looking at the card the gap between engagement and the wedding is about 1 month.... so..” she was about to continue but stopped hearing meera and pinky exchanging namastes to her mother who just entered into the hall....she smiled shaking her head knowing their friends will definately convinve her mother to send her to marriage..... after so much of pleasings from both pinky and meera her mother agreed geet to go to shimla, only if they takes care of geet.. nodding their heads furiously and saying ‘off course aunty we will take care of geet” ......... it’s not like her mother will not send her... it’s just that geet won’t take care of herself properly ! involved in so much work she skips her meals sometimes and there should be always someone around her to remind her whether she ate and also being middle class and reserved family her mother was quite worried about her safety !!

Saying Geet to be ready tomorrow morning as they booked train tickets for all of their friends to shimla pinky and meera went off hugging geet. She sighed looking at their retreating form her best friend was getting married !

Geet was ready with her luggage. Her mother eyes were brimming with tears it was their first time to send their daughter to far place away from them for whole one month. Geets eyes got filled looking at her mother“MOM i will take care of myself papa tell na “ she said pouting looking at her father.Her father put a hand on her head kissed her forehead and said softly “Take care of yourself and don’t skip any meals and call us once you reach” Ok dad shesmiled and hugged her father nd mother and left with her brother to reach the station.....

“Take care and ha muje call karna agar koi bhi problem ho tho !! and don’t roam around  the hills at night all alone it’s quite dangerous and eat properly...... wear a sweater to keep you warm, call me once you reach there.... “ her brother never ending list was about to continue but geet put a stopsaying “ bhai agar mai aapki concern list aur sunti rahoon na tho meri train choot jayegi aur phir apki yeh list kaha apply karungi “  she smiled looking at his smile and said assuring him “ I will take care of myself and yeah i will not roam around hills late night all alone... will eat properly , wear a sweater and ha will call you daily pakka” she smiled at him and hugged him saying bye she left with her friends who were waiting for her and got into the train....

After about 7 hours they reached shimla. Geet , pinky and her other friends reached the mansion where wedding and all the rituals takes place.They were shocked to see the huge mansion lit with beautiful lights... they had never seen such mansion before.

They all entered into the mansion. Geet hugged the new bride who was putting her mehendi on her hands as it’s her engagement tomorrow... The servants of the mansion showed their rooms.... two of them shared each room as only geet was remaining she got a whole room for herself. Her eyes widened looking at  the room it was a beautiful neat and clean just like she had seen in hotels! As she was very tired due to long journey she headed into washroom took cold bath, changed into nights and jumped into the bed hugging her pillow tight she slept.

ENGAGEMENT NIGHT

Geet was all ready and was looking like a beautiful angel in her yellow coloured lahenga choli with red flowered embroidery work all her friends complimented her and she too returned their gesture saying they are looking no less than her and they all laughed and headed into the huge hall where the ceremony is going to take place.

Geet was running here and there to look after all the arrangements. Meera kappor was the only child for kappors family and her parents considers geet as her own daughter and they told her to look after some arrangements.....

“ Excuse me.....is this your payal” said a husky male voice behind her. Geet was facing her back to the person, she looked at her feet to see one payal missing she turned around smiling to thank him and stretched her hand to take the payal but her smile faded slowly to look at the person standing infront of her ... her heart beat started racing why his features were so similar to him !! she thought and 

observed at his face again...His brown eyes looking at her piercing as if staring into her soul, he had a sharp nose, prominent jaw, M shaped lips..... He was dressed in black armani suit he was handsome like a greek god, a well maintained body.... she was brought back by his “Ahem Ahem ......  i asked is this your payal” he said in a husky clear voice looking at her now straightened form. “ Yes it’s mine thank you so much” saying this she grabbed her payal from his hands and went off running!. She got a shiver ran down her spine when her fingers touched his hand she shrugged all her thoughts and went to meera muttering hereself NO He was not MAAN why will he be here!

“Geet can you please come here i have to introduce you to someone close to me!” said Meera smiling.... Geet smiled at her and looked at the other person who was facing his back to her. She came and stood beside meera “ let me introduce you to Maan... Maan singh khurana” said meera just then someone called her and she went off saying them she will come back in few minutes ND let them continue the conversation!! 

Maan looked at the same PAYAL girl and smiled slightly “ Hi I’m Maan singh khurana” saying this he outstretched his hand for a handshake....geet gaped at him wide eyes no it can’t be true this man can’t be maan.... looking at him now in front of her all her past feelings about him had resurfaced in her heart again she felt her heartbeat racing in an errotic way. She feared he may hear it... she controlled herself and smiled slightly at him “ Hii Geet... Geet handa “ and joined her hand in his shaking... she felt that same familiar feeling of shivering in her again and quickly took her hand back. Smiling at him awkwardly.... just then meera came back and smiled at both of them... “who is he” geet asked whispering so that only meera could hear.... meera misunderstood her and thought she was asking her about his fiance who left her to talk with his friends so she replied “my fiance”.... Geet felt as if the ground beneath her was slipping away from her, she felt her heart crush into thousand pieces yet again !!!!  Maan is meera’s fiancee .....

Maan thought he knew this girl but where he can’t remember !! ..... she looked so familiar to him and her name is familiar too!! He looked at her again .... she was looking beautiful like an angel in her yellow lahenga choli.Her almond eyes adorned with kajal now slightly filled with tears he frowned are they tears and his heart pricked to see her eyes now shining with slight tears.... her nose red .... her plump lips between her teeth.... she looked as if she was trying hard not to cry but why he thought.......
