Chapter 188
[MEMBERSONLY]
[NOCOPY]
Smita,๐
Here is the interpretation to Part 46.
Anamika walked into the kitchen of the cottage with Ganesh, after having chatted with Gaurav and the rest of the Raizadas' a gaiety packed 10 minutes, they were set to prepare a meal. Ganesh showed her where all the ingredients were stored in the larder. Gathering all that were necessary for the meal they set about to cook their breakfast which was more of a brunch. They shared the cooking as Ganesh who was used to taking care of himself was a versatile cook. They had an enjoyable time cooking while reminiscing their old memories and creating the new ones. While cooking, Ganesh utilized every opportunity he got, to touch and kiss Anamika at his will. Anamika was only too glad to oblige and every now and then he did so it elicited a giggle from her. She was feeling chirpy and happy as birds in the spring. As they shared their meal Ganesh told her, Anamika, I was thinking... making her look at him. With a serious tone he told her, that maybe they should not have any more children, making Anamika's eyes widen. Putting down his cup Ganesh explained, that Gaurav might feel left out. And he never wants him to feel so ever. If they have more children he may feel that he does not belong to them and all their attention would go to the new born. Ganesh was a worried man. Anamika looking into her cup with a small smile dancing on her lips put in a query in a soft voice, So you don't want a child of your own? He told her without a bit of hesitation, that he has Gaurav, who was his child in all the ways that matter. He was quite sufficient and happy with him as his progeny. In a choked voice she told, that it was a pity, making Ganesh frown at her strange words and ask, why? She told him, that Gaurav was telling her, and Buaji, Naniji, Anjaliji, Payal, Koel, and anyone and everyone who would listen, how much he was looking forward to having an army of brothers and sisters... She enjoyed seeing Ganesh's shell shocked expression. After a few moments, Ganesh asked, really? Anamika confirmed it and said, he was trying to pick good names for them.. with Buaji's help. This was a surprise for Ganesh and after a while pondering over it, he asked, An army? Anamika lowering her head confirmed it. So it looks like it was going to be very busy next few year, was his dry retort. Anamika nodding in agreement, hugged Ganesh and whispered in his ear, that she would love to have his babies... making Ganesh throat go dry but his heart humbled at her wish.
Khushi checking out the larder in the farm house, selected all the ingredients that she needed to cook the breakfast, while Arnav was engaged with a call to RM and talking to the family members. He was making sure that things at RM were sailing on smooth seas and their absence was not leading to any havoc in Shantivan. While he was listening to his Di, Mami and Nani and answering their querries, he was leisurely relishing the coffee that Khushi had brewed for him. At times their querries and teasings made him smile and blush. Mami in her version of Hinglish asked him, it was eleven'o' clock! What happened? Was he late in getting up? Did he not go for jogging today? Arnav looked everywhere in search of an answer. He could hear Scooby barking and Gaurav joking with NK in the background. Akash was trying to get them speak in a low voice so that all could hear Arnav. Di came to his rescue asking Mami, what kind of question was that? How could she tease her Chotey so? Making Arnav sigh in relief. Di continued to question Mami, Why should he go for jogging now? Running after Khushiji all his life will keep him healthy! Saying so she laughed out loud, bringing a smile on Arnav's face while he could hear Nani, Mami, Buaji, Amma and Payal chuckling. Buaji gave him, her bit of advice saying, Arnav Bitwaa... Don't let Titliyaa fall from the bed and hit her head. As it is, a screw is loose somewhere, Nandkisore! If she hits her head, there is no saying.. It had all in laughter and Arnav promised her that he would take due care. Suddenly he heard NK asking, Nannav, mere bhai! Are you OK? Arnav pretending to be puzzled said that he was fine. When NK insisted was he sure and was he not missing them? Arnav looked at the ceiling with a cynical smile thought that Khushi and he has just got married and had arrived at the farm house only last night and had spent just one night apart from their families! It was not as though they had gone on an wilderness expedition or were for their honeymoon at Timbuktu! What was the fuss really about then? His silent query was answered by his Nani, who explained that, Nanhe is asking him so because if he was missing them, if he was not OK over there, then they could make a beeline to the farmhouse to keep him company. A look of horror marred Arnav's handsome visage. Arnav hastened to reassure them, that they both were fine and absolutely perfect. His reply elicited bursts of cachinnation from his family, at having successfully taken him for a ride.
Arnav walking into the kitchen from where the tempting aroma was wafting through, dropped the newspaper on the table and went to stand behind Khushi who was making pooris. Khushi turning her face towards him told with a smile, that it would be ready in a few minutes. Her smile made him kiss her on her cheek and peek into the pipping hot oil, in which the poori's were dancing merrily. Arnav in a gesture that shocked himself, offered Khushi his help. His kitchen skills were slight, to be precise nearer to zilch. Khushi shot up her eyebrows in disbelief and said, you? You will cook? Arnav, with one raised eyebrow as though it was unbelievable that she was questioning his kitchen skills told her, of course. Grabbing a slotted spoon, as though he was a master chef, began playing with the pooris in the oil much to Khushi's amusement. Hiding her grin, she told him, Arnavji, the pooris know what to do to get fried. You don't have to dunk them in the oil. And moreover, stand slightly away from the pan. If the oil bubbles and splutters, it will burn you. Arnav sheepishly, took a step back and with Khushi's help, managed to transfer the fried ones on to the platter. When Arnav with a smirk asked Khushi with a lazy drawl, what will she give him for helping her? Khushi was surprised and widening her eyes in disbelief, she asked him, why should she give him anything when it was she who had got more than half of the work done? Arnav stepped closer to steal a kiss from her but Khushi in a quicksilver movement shot out of the kitchen to the dining area with a wide grin and the platter of pooris safe in her hand. Arnav collecting the other dishes, followed through thinking where would she be going? She had no where to run to and he would get his kiss no matter what!
In the dining, Khushi made him sit on a chair and made a plate for him. As she turned away to get his cup, he caught her by her hand and invited her to sit by his side. Khushi, looking at his love-filled eyes, sat by him, feeling her cheeks go warm with happiness. Taking a piece of Poori dipped in sabzi, she took it to his mouth startling Arnav. In a moment he recovered and with a smile he parted his lips and ate from her hand. When he tried to give her a morsel, she burst out in laughter. His eyes glued to her highly amused expression, and waited patiently for her to let him have an insight to her thought that had tickled her so much. He wondered what was going on in that crazy brain of hers?
When he finally asked her, what was it that caused so much of mirth? Khushi clutching her tummy with the spate of laughter still not receeding, let out the reason saying, Just think... Arnavji, if.. if.. If Amanji... if Amanji sees him now... This much itself was enough for Arnav to smile but Khushi continued to say, He will... die of shock. The great Arnav Singh Raizada... feeding poori... When a smiling Arnav inserted, that he made... Khushi still laughing amended it, that he helped to make... to his wife... What will he say, Arnavji? Arnav leaning towards her and rubbing his nose with hers and angled for her lips saying, Aman would pronounce that Arnav Singh Raizada is a very lucky man.
After leisurely satiating his stomach as well as his heart, Arnav took Khushi to his Mama's garden. He had her seated on a bench by a rose bush with big beautiful red rose heads that were aromatic and went by the name LEGENDS.
Khushi drew in a long appreciative breath. Arnav caressing the leaves gently with a tender look on his face said that his Mama planted many of the plants there in the garden making it a special place for him. The subtle sway due to the gentle breeze blowing along made them feel that the plants were welcoming them. Khushi smiled at Arnav feeling of enchantment that the whole garden placed them in. The beautiful pond, the huge shady trees, the stone benches... all contributed to the aura were truly magical, like a piece of heaven, far away from the concrete jungle and the crowds... Arnav breaking into her trance where she had transported herself into, told her softly, that he wanted to give her this when they were here. So saying he handed over a paper to her. Khushi looked curiously at the paper and at the drawn look on his face. As she unfolded it she saw that it was a letter from her saasuma to her. Her eyes moved slowly along with the lines, tears filling them as she met the lady who had given birth to her Arnavji. Her stream of tears made Arnav gather her close in his arms and with a constricted throat say, Khushi, don't cry. Khushi's murmur, that Mama wanted her to put up with his anger, made him give a wry smile and concede, only she can manage him when angry. Khushi added with a whisper that, she had written to see through his stuck-up, snobbish, grumpy attitude that he shows, to see his heart. So saying she leaned her head against his chest. Arnav smiled, knowing that they both knew the answer to it. Breathing against the bare skin exposed by the open neck of his white shirt, she told him that mama had written to love him a lot, because he would return it hundredfold. Arnav promised, pulling her closer into his arms, that he would. He knew that she was his home, his family, the very reason for him taking the next breath. He asked tremulously, Khushi... promise me.., making Khushi look in to his solemn face that held moist eyes. Arnav sought assurance from her saying, Promise me that you will never leave me, Khushi. Without you, pausing in between he continued, without you I'll not be able to survive... Khushi hugged him tightly and promised, that then he would have a long life, an extra long one with his Sanka Devi, a promise, she reiterated with her lips on his.
This update is about contemplate or conceive as a possibility or a desirable future event. It is ENVISAGE.
When Anamika walked into the kitchen after having a lively chat with Gaurav and Raizadas, Ganesh and she set about to cooking meal, a brunch. They cooked together sharing the chore as well as kisses. They set about to do their task reminiscing old times as well as creating new memories. This was the life they visualized themselves to lead. The way Ganesh wooed Anamika with talk, hands and lips, she felt as giddy as a schoolgirl. It was as though they were reliving the wasted years and it was too much fun to disregard. They regarded it with happiness as their own world as it made them live without a care. When Ganesh broached the subject of kids with trepidation and great seriousness saying, that he was not in favour of having any kids as he did not want Gaurav to feel left out and feel unwanted, Anamika just said that it was too bad that he felt so as Gaurav had been tom-tomming to all those who cared to listen to him that he was happily imagining a life with a horde of brothers and sisters and very much looking forward to and he had even roped in Buaji to search good names already. This revelation left Ganesh shell-shocked and later with elation. When all that Anamika told him seeped through, feeling happy visualizing his family with his wife, son Gaurav and other kids who come along and Scooby he told Anamika that then they would be having a busy few years ahead. Anamika answered hugging him that she was very happy to be able to conceive his babies, leaving Ganesh spellbound. He had never imagined that he would be so lucky to have Anamika agree to marry him, seeing her men off limits attitude. He had only envisioned but could never envisage life with her. But now he not only has envisaged life with her but also picturize a future of a family with her. His photographic mind could now ideate a hearth and home with Anamika in the pivot and their brood of kids with Gaurav in the fore and Scooby in tow. This was the life both Anamika and Ganesh Vidyarthi would be leading in the years to come.
"Having a place to go is home, having someone to love is family, having both is a blessing"
While Khushi was gathering the necessary items to cook breakfast from the larder, Arnav was busy with a call to RM. All the members of their family could visualize Arnav, now happily spending his time with Khushi and not only enjoying their time alone from their family but also putting it to good use. By giving in an impression of a rhetorical querry Mami asked, why had he not gone for his morning jog and was he late in getting up? While Arnav was searching for answers, his Di came to his rescue asking, how could she pose such a question to her Chote and tease him, in a tone stating that they would have to face her first before being able to tease him. This made Arnav heave a sigh of relief and complacent. Her very next sentence, in line of his defense, why should he go jogging now that, he has to run after Khushiji all his life, had all in mirth and Arnav in smiles. To add to his complacency and regard their concern to be of serious in nature, Buaji gives him a tip, stating not to let her Titliyaa fall off the bed and hit her head. It may cause much more complications than he could ever consider, with she becoming as mad as a hatter, elicting the reassurance of taking good care from Arnav. Now they go in for the kill with NK asking Arnav, whether he was OK? followed by, was he sure and not missing them was he? making Arnav who was surprised first to perplexed and later wonder what was the fuss all about. It was not as though they were hearing from him after a long time when the time in question was just overnight. The way they were creating a fuss he could visualize it as though they, he and Khushi, had gone far off to some godforsaken land! Or the top of Mount Everest! Or even them being shunted off to the remote corners of Siberia! For crying out loud, it was his farm house that was just an hour or so away from his home! His pondering received the answer from his Nani, who explained NK's querry with a laughter, that it was with consideration of him needing company for he was all alone with Khushi and that too with just two of them, chances of being bored was more and if necessary, with just a word from him all were ready to drop their work and join him at the farm house. All were raring to go and were waiting for just a signal from him as his wish was their command! The manifestation of abundant love had him horror-stricken. He had heard love makes the world go round but with his family it makes the world go crazy! Arnav's hasty, they were fine, perfectly fine, reassurance was a treat for his family who could visualize his reaction and imagine his discomfort at them turning up at his door! While Arnav could contemplate this action from the footloose and fancy free NK and Gaurav but the rest was beyond his capacity to conceive of! But that was reality and that was his family! His family was like a zoo. It can get crazy and loud but were worth the price of! His comment had regaled his family and had put them on cloud nine, for having been able to pull wool over his eyes for once, even if it was in jest!
"Family is not an important thing, it's everything"
~ Michael J. Fox
While in the kitchen he helped Khushi with the preparations of pooris and that was to transfer the pooris from the oil to the platter with the help of Khushi! For one who had answered Khushi's querry, You? You will cook? with a cocked up eyebrow as though she had asked a preposterous question when he had offered her help. When all he did was trying to dunk the pooris into the bubbling oil in which they were already floating, she could imagine how much of a cordon blue he was! A chef par excellence needing her to instruct not to dunk the pooris in the oil and to stand a bit away so as not to get burns from spluttering oil. The helpful act was conceived of and the result of an idea to extract the wages, wages of his liking. Once the pooris were ready, he asked what he would receive in due and in answer Khushi darted off. He knew he would be able to extract his due out of her and it was only a matter of minutes. As she served him he made her sit beside him and when she fed him a morsel, he returned the favour. Khushi burst out in laughter and the picture she created made him fall in love with her all over again. The tinkling of her laughter always pleased his senses and it was no different this day. The pleasing lilt to her voice made his heart sing and dance to the rhythmic beats. He waited to listen to what she had to say on this burst of laughter. When she managed to say, that her thoughts had been at the expressions that would flit across Amanji's face, if he saw him now, his ASR feeding pooris to his wife, What he, Amanji would have said about it, Arnav said that he made, only to be corrected by his wife as, helped to make. Arnav who had been waiting for this opportunity leaning close to her, stated that Aman would think that ASR is a very lucky man and angled her lips and proceeded to have a hearty breakfast, breaking the fast of a few hours as well as of a few minutes. This meal lived upto his expectation and it was a hearty meal, all and more than both he and Khushi had visualized it could ever be.
"Find out where joy resides, give it a voice far beyond singing. For to miss the joy is to miss all"
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
When in his Mama's garden he introduced Khushi to the plants that had been planted by his mother, Legends, the big beautiful red rose heads that were aromatic, his Mama's favorites, they were in full bloom and it was like his Mama welcoming her personally spreading her sweet fragrance in the air. Khushi drew in her breath appreciatively and the gentle breeze that blew over, pond, huge shady and flowering trees, stone benches added to the enchantment. Arnav giving her a letter from his mother said he wanted to give it to her when in this garden. Such ideation can only be understood, if one knew the attachment he had with his Mama and the attachment he has with his wife. He wanted the two to be brought in close vicinity while he gave Khushi the letter and his Mama's garden was the place where he felt her presence always and sought solace at times of turbulence in his life. The letter, moved Khushi to tears. She could imagine the mother who was worried about the well-being of her son who was very much attached to her. Khushi could picturize his mother's agony at being unable to be there for him when he needed. Khushi could see the trauma his Mama went through while writing the letter, hoping that his life-partner would be his soul-mate who would bring cheer to him. It was a letter that was filled with hope, love and blessings to her Chotey's bride. It was a letter where she had given the key to the thoughts of her Chotey. She had written that, if his bride was strong enough to bear the brunt of his anger till it cools down, and loves him still, then she would be the recipient of his love a hundredfold, which had proven to be true. Khushi was confronted with the realistic opinion of her Saasuma that she had envisaged, while her Chotey was still a chotey in age. At that time itself, his Mama had sensed and contemplated on a desirable future event. Now Arnav knew that he had reached his destination and with Khushi beside him, life on Earth was heavenly and she had become the very core of his existence. She was the very breath he needed to survive and so he asks her to make a promise not to leave him as without her, he would not be able to survive. Her promise, that she would be with him at every step and he would have to put up with his Sanka Devi for eons and it was a commitment meant for forever was sealed with her lips on his. This was what the ideal life both Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada envisaged for them, to be together and forever.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
That was also what we the readers had envisioned as well as ENVISAGED.
That's it from me. Hope you enjoy it.
ADDENDUM
You might be wondering why I have used envisage and not envision and at certain places I have used both but highlighted only envisage. It is because though both envision and envisage mean to visualize, they differ slightly. To envisage is to contemplate or consider something, usually something real, in a certain way, or to predict a particular set of circumstances based on evidence or strong belief. Envisaging often relates to planning real-world projects. When you envision something, it's usually more hypothetical, imaginary, or removed from reality. The difference is subtle. Envisaging usually involves something real, while envisioning involves mostly imaginary elements.
Finally, my thanks to all the readers for their encouragement and appreciation. THANK YOU!
