Chapter 124
[MEMBERSONLY]
[NOCOPY]
Smita,😊
Here is the interpretation to Section 4 of Part 28.
The movie goers' were treated to seeing Arnav Singh Raizada, the business tycoon, in toto with the entire legion of Raizadas' along with Khushi and her Buaji in the theatre. When the ladies took their seats, Arnav coming in at the rear, caught hold of Khushi's arm and pulled her aside. When with a smile she asked him, what happened Arnavji? it earned a nothing from him. He did not voice out to her that he had no intention of sitting in the darkness of the theater for two to three hours with the chasm of Raizadas' and Guptas' between him and Khushi. Her prophesy with utmost cheer, that it was a sure whizz bang to make him a movie buff, made Arnav smile to himself sceptically and think, that would be the day. Nani sat with Buaji, with Anjali, Mami, Mamaji, Akash, and Payal taking their seats after her. Only then, Arnav let go of Khushi's arm to let her sit and occupied the very seat next to hers. Khushi was extremely happy, that the family had gone out together and had decided to spend the afternoon in such a zany way but nevertheless an entertaining! She was heard by Arnav, humming under her breath,
Aaj mausam he suhaana
Phillum dekhne ka he bahana'.
She was almost giddy with happiness making him look away to hide his smirk in the darkness.
When the movie began, much to his chagrin it was DDLJ, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge? It was a part of the celebrations of Yash Chopra week! Laid back on his seat he observed Khushi and his family. All were so engrossed in the movie that they had a pleasant glow in their faces. It looked that Lady Smile had deemed it fit to bestow their face with her presence. There were clapping galore and Mami was saluting the protagonists, with a whistle every now and then, with Khushi joining her in the act, placing two of her fingers in her mouth, much to Arnav's chagrin. For Arnav, it was an unbelievable sight! He looked around feeling self-conscious and thought to himself, What the! What had he let himself into!
When he started to observe the movie, Raj Malhotra met Simran. Arnav had an expression of exasperation, disbelief and disapproval all rolled in one, at their antics. He wondered how long he had to bear with this moronic act. Suddenly he felt Khushi's fingers grip his thigh in excitement! Jerking upright in a shock, turned his head towards her. She was so engrossed in the movie and had a radiant smile with eyes shimmering in excitement, making Arnav stare at her in wonder.
When Raj delivered the dialogue,
Bade bade deshon mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai...,
Khushi sighed in pleasure turning to Arnav with a smile, sharing her pleasure with him. Arnav forcing himself to gulp the lump in his throat, placed his fingers on hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. On screen, Baldev was mired in anger at his daughter Simran for her romance with Raj and forcibly shifted his family to Punjab. Arnav saw only Khushi's face that was depicting her heart wrenching distress at the separation of the two love-birds, a hitch in their love story. His thought, What the! mirrored his stupefaction at the emotions it invoked in her even after seeing the movie at least ten times in the minimum. He wondered, knowing that the guy was sure to get the girl at the end why was she so upset? Leaning forward he looked at the other members of his family. Nani, Mami, Buaji, Di and Payal were wiping away their tears that were streaming down their cheeks and sniffling! What a perfect company for Khushi! He watched a tear rolling down on her smooth white cheek. Arnav sighing at her state but hiding a smile placed his pristine white handkerchief in her hand. Without taking her eyes from the screen with a smile she took it and dried the tears that had marred her smooth, pale, clear, fair skin. While so much of emotions were poring out, Arnav with a sigh, noticed that Mamaji had let himself doze and was happily snoring away to glory, amidst the din.
Covering his lips with his fingers, Arnav continued his watch on Khushi and the emotions it displayed. It was a visual treat for him. Every emotion that was displayed on the screen reflected on her face. He could see the mirror reflection of the joy when Raj and Simran reunited, the anxiety when Raj tried to woo Baldev, the excitement when Simran cut her finger to avoid wearing the engagement ring, the look of almost heavenly bliss when Raj fed Simran on Karwa Chaut. When he turned to see the others who had come to the movie he found it to be filled with females of various age groups who had dragged their escorts, be it unwilling husbands, boy friends, brothers, cousins, sons, uncles, male neighbours or fathers, to view the chick flick that was a certified tear jerker! He felt heart-felt sympathy to these male members who had to undergo this torturous ordeal. Turning his attention towards Khushi, he manged to pry her hands away from his thigh and slide it into his hands, giving himself a breather. He succeeded in managing to salvage his runaway self control under his leash from the brink of falling apart.
Looking at her rapt eyes that were glued on to the screen, he gently ran a finger along her palm, caressing the webs at the base of her fingers that had her nerves tingle. He could see a sharp change in her breathing and she drew in a sharp breath. Lifting her hand upto his mouth he gave it a butterfly kiss making her fingers curl. She felt like a fly caught in the spider's web and glanced at the rest of the family hoping that the byplay had gone unnoticed. The rest were sitting at the edge of their seats engrossed in Kuljeet and his friends beat Raj mercilessly. Arnav kissed her fingers and gently nipped a finger tip. Her soft whimper off the screen, went unnoticed as it merged with the sound effects of the good punches doled out on the screen. He salved the bitten part by lapping with his tongue. The two were caught in the giddy frisson of romance and he could feel every tremor of her body and relished its effects.
While on the screen, Raj stood at the door of the train waiting for Simran to come to him, Baldev was holding Simran back, Arnav gently dropped a kiss on Khushi's palm abraded by his stubble, right on the Mount of Venus. She almost melted into a puddle of sparkling delectation in her push back seat. When Simran ran after the train to reach Raj, Arnav kissed her Mount of Jupiter at the base of her pointer making her toes curl with sensuous intoxication. Khushi fell sideways against him, her body resting against him her left side against his right. As the credits rolled and the lights came on people readied to troop out by stretching their arms and legs.
Khushi pulled her hand away from Arnav who was smirking at her discomfort, while she had her eyes cast down to hide the rapid heightening of color on her cheeks. Akash's querry, Bhai, how was the movie, had him answer with a smile, a replica of cherubic innocence, that it was very interesting, interesting enough to make him want to do it more frequently and they ought to do it.
This update is about QT, the QUALITY TIME, the time spent with loved ones, the close family, partners that is important, special, productive and profitable. It is the time that is set aside for paying full and undivided attention to the person or matter at hand. It is also the time spent performing some favorite activity.
When the Raizadas with Khushi and Buaji entered the theater Arnav held Khushi back, so that he could make her sit next to him. He had cancelled a string of meetings just to spend some quality time with her. Once the rest were seated he succeeded in getting Khushi to sit beside him. Arnav was a happy man as he could manipulate the seating arrangements to his liking.
"All happiness depends on courage and work"
~ Honore de Balzac
For Khushi the definition of quality time was to spend time with family. She is a family oriented person. Her happiness was attached to the happiness of the family. She being family-centric, found the outing with them extremely satisfying. For her the family outing would not have brought happiness that she was experiencing now, without Arnav joining them. Each and every member held their place in her heart and being with them and enjoying together was her idea of quality time. This is what made her hum under her breath her very own sweet ditty.
"Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking"
~ Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Though Arnav had come with them it was not to watch the tear jerker. He was more inclined to watch Khushi and have a whale of a time that was special, productive for him and profitably used. While the movie was being screened he used it to study and memorize the face of his beloved who was oblivious to his perusal. He spent his time doing his favorite activity. Knowing that she had seen the movie umpteen number of times, he was amazed at her interest. But her one movement, her fingers gripping his thigh, gave him the opening that he was seeking. He tried to maximize this opportunity that was provided by placing his fingers over hers initially and slowly held her hands in his hand to get a reprieve from the sensations that was assaulting him with that mere touch of hers.
"Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting some on yourself"
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Making sure the family had their eyes glued on the screen, he started his own assault on her senses that led her to lean on him, weak with dizzy, with the sensuous treatment meted to her hands by him. Her response was muffled by the sound of the movie and when it reached the crescendo she was a quivering bundle in his arms. He had spent his time doing his favorite activity and he thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a special productive time for him as he realized once again that Khushi was not averse to his advances in public as long as it was known only to the two of them. It was a profitable foray for him.
"Happiness doesn't result from what we get, but from what we give"
~ Ben Carson
When Akash asked him how was the movie, though he had not watched it, a visibly relaxed Arnav, was ready for an encore with the QT spent with Khushi and said that they needed to do it more often.
"They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for"
~ Tom Bodett
Hence it is titled Quality Time.
That's it from me. Hope you enjoy it.
