CHAPTER-4

"Marrying me is not such a scary thing Khushi?" said Arnav who was startled to hear his voice all of a sudden. She was standing on the bank of the same Lake where they had first met.

"Go away" said Khushi annoyed.

'Well yeah I am, that's why I have come to say good bye" replied Arnav.

"Well good Riddance" muttered Khushi loud enough for Arnav to hear who just smirked in response.

"Vaise Khushi how do you people just survive on fruits and vegetable, don't you ever feel like gorging on spicy food...like malai kofta,Paneer Buter Masala,pepper chicken..."

"Stop"

"what's the matter sweety are feeling tempted?" asked Arnav.

Truth be told Khushi was a big foodie and her mouth was watering just at the thought of all the food that Arnav was mentioning.

"Actually today is my last day here so No more fruits and vegetables for me" replied Khushi.

"Wow so you have decided to marry me after all"

"You wish Raizada"

Now Arnav was genuinely confused,Why was Khushi leaving the Ashram and Why?

"Well where are you going to go?" asked Arnav

"I have not yet decided " replied Khushi.

"Are you mad, do you even realize what you are saying,where will you go on your own?" asked Arnav

"That's none of your business" retorted Khushi.

"Listen Khushi come home with me, we don't have to marry,you can't stay there, my family is really great they will..."

"I know they are great but I can't accept this..." began Khushi

"Why not?"

"Because people will talk" replied Khushi.

"What nonsense? People will always have something to talk about everything so why should we let their words stop us?" asked Arnav.

"We may not care about what others say but your family definitely will and I don't like hurting anyone" replied khushi.

Arnav was impressed and he could not help but fall for her more when she said this.

"Khushi I just want to help you" said Arnav.

Khushi looked at Arnav, who was this going and why was he caring so much for her? She din't trust him as she could never trust another man in her life. But if she was going to run away from Arnav soon there would be someone else and for how long will she keep running and how far will she keep running?.

"Do you really want me to help me?" asked Khushi

"Yes" replied Arnav earnestly.

"Listen Arnav I know nothing about you and neither do you know anything about me and you claim to be in love with me but I can never associate myself with Love,I am just not made for love or Marriage so let's make a deal." Said Khushi

"Deal?What kind of a deal?"asked Arnav.

"Lets marry each other but it will be a compromise and it will last just for six months and after that we can annul the marriage and go back our seperate ways these six months will give me time to set my life on track but the ball is in your court so no compulsion or anything." Replied Khushi.

Arnav was stunned to hear such a proposal from her did the girl who just claimed that she din't like to hurt anyone just throw his feelings to the wind and propose such a deal to him. He quickly composed himself and gave his reply.

"So let's make it a deal then... I am fine with it" said Arnav and held out his hand.

Khushi shook his hand and couldn't help but feel disappointed, somehow she had felt that Arnav would protest but may be she was right Arnav was just like others he was not in love with her,he was just carried away by his attraction towards her.

"I have six months to make her fall in love with me" thought Arnav as he shook her hands.

The next day Arnav and khushi were married in the Hidimba Devi temple in the presence of Dadi, Lavanya,NK and Akash. That very night they left for Delhi. Khushi and Arnav were in a different compartment while NK,Lavanya and Akash were in a different Compartment.Arnav and Khushi had a quite dinner neither of them knowing what to say to the other.They quitely went to sleep and both of them were given births facing each other.Arnav watched Khushi fall asleep through the corner of his eyes and slowly he too dozed off.

Suddenly Arnav felt someone shaking him from his sleep, he sat bolt upright when he saw that it was Khushi.

"Khushi what is it?" asked Arnav

"Arnav I just remembered something" replied Khushi her eyes filled with tears.

"What?" asked Arnav seriously worried.

"your family...they will feel bad if your marriage falls apart won't they, how could I have overlooked that, I am so selfish, atleast you could have told me about it" said Khushi.

Arnav just stared at her in disbelief this girl was totally crazy she had woken him up in the middle of the night to say this.He could just kiss her right now, she looked so cute and innocent when worried.But to his shook tears began to pool in her hazel eyes.

"Hey Khushi stop worrying we have six months to think of a way for that so go back to sleep for now" said Arnav.

Khushi just nodded obediently and Arnav tucked her in to bed as though she was an eight year old kid. Khushi was reminded of her dad when he did that and she was shocked at her own behaviour for not having protested. Though she could not stop herself from flinching when Arnav touched her in the process.

Arnav noticed the way she had flinched at his touch and felt bad.

When Arnav and Khushi reached Shantivan they were heartily welcomed by the Raizadas. They had been adamant that Arnav should carry Khushi through the threshold as per the Raizada tradition but Arnav remembered the way Khushi had flinched at his proximity the previous night and objected to it. And everyone knew better than to argue with Arnav Singh Raizada as it was a miracle in itself that he had actually got married. During the Ring fight Arnav let Khushi find the ring and smiled when she jumped with joy.

Soon all the rituals were complete and Khushi was first taken to the bedroom for Suhaag Raat by Anjali who made her sit on the bed, But when Arnav came in he found Khushi fast asleep on the recliner. He gently lifted her and placed her on the bed and took the recliner himself. He fell asleep watching his beautiful wife sleep.
