Everyone gathered around the dining table. Payal and Khusi got the dishes and placed it on the table. Anjali asked Khusi and Payal to seat next to their respective husbands and the Prakash brother's to serve food to everyone.

Mamiji: "Why will HP an OP serve?? What will the gupta sisters do?? Sit and enjoy. It's their first rasoi, so they need to serve everyone."

Khusi silently picked up the Kheer bowl and went to serve Nani first, but Anjali stopped her and said: "Khusiji, first serve to Chotte, it's the tradition that the bride serves the first plate to her husband and eats from the same plate."

Khusi smiled at Anjali and served Arnav, which he happily took from her hand with a smile intact on his face. Shyam got frustrated by the lovey dovey reaction of Arshi and said: "Khusiji, will you serve Saale Saahab only? We too are waiting to taste your food." Arnav gritted his teeth while NK took a bowl, showing it to Khusi said: "Khusi bhabi, put some kheer here, Jeejaji is too hungry to eat." Arnav gave a confused look to NK which he ignored and looked at Khusi. She forcibly served some kheer in it and went to serve Naniji and others. The kheer was delicious and mamiji couldn't stop from serving herself some more. Shyam wanting to create some disturbance said: "Khusiji, this kheer contains sugar. How could you serve this to Saale sahib?"

Khusi controlling herself said: "You don't need to worry JIJAJI. I care for my husband's health more than anything else. I have made kheer with artificial sweetener. I would never cook something which my husband can't eat". It rubbed off the smile from Shyam's face while lightened up a more brighter smile on her husband's face. Nani became happy inside that her Chotte finally got happiness in form of Khusi but still maintained a straight face. Rest others smiled at Khusi's answer and Mamiji said: "Phatti saree, I want you to make sugar free dishes for me every day, because I don't want to gain weight because of high calorie food. Figure maintain kare ka padi. Samjhi ki nahi.." Khusi smilled and nodded her head.

Anjali: "Khusiji, you too sit and have your breakfast." Khusi obliged to it and settled beside her husband.

NK: "Di, I had heard that on the first day of marriage husband and wife should feed each other, it increases love you know."

Anjali: "Haan NK bhai. Chote you will have to feed to Khusiji and Khusiji you too have to feed chote from your hands."

Arnav: "Okay Di", saying that he forwarded the plate towards Khusi and kept it in middle and took a spoonful of kheer towards Khusi's mouth signalling her by his eyes to eat. Khusi shyly ate it and forwarded another spoon of kheer towards Arnav's mouth. Shyam who was feeling a bit uneasy couldn't take it anymore and excused himself and hurriedly walked to his room.

NK called out from behind: "What happened Jiju, why are you running like this?"

Arnav got a message from NK in his mobile. He got confused why had NK send him a message while he is sitting across him on the table. But nevertheless he opened the message.

SMS

Today whole day our dearest jiju will stay in the bathroom, was too interested to eat kheer made by Khusi bhabi. Had mixed medicine in his bowl. Poor jiju feeling sorry for him.. ;) :P ...

Arnav had a hard time controlling his laugh.

Payal lost her patience and went to serve the halwa-poori. She served all and finally settled down beside Akash to eat from the same plate as instructed by Anjali. Everyone took a bite and various funny expression played on their faces. But Mamiji spat out the food before Anjali or Mamaji could do any damage control she shouted at Payal: "Ye kya cooking kiye rahi tum. You are the daughter of a halwai and don't know how to make a simple halwa. You have added so much of salt in this?? Is this what your mother has taught you? Kitna acha tastewa tha muh mein kheer ka, sab destroy kar diya.. Hello Hi Bye Bye" ("What have you cooked? You are the daughter of a halwai and don't know how to make a simple halwa. You have added so much of salt in this?? Is this what your mother has taught you? My mouth had a nice taste of kheer and you have spoil it")

Anjali trying to divert Mamiji said: "Mamiji why don't you have some more kheer, so less is left, if you don't eat it I will finish it off."

Mamiji: "After having eaten this horrible halwa, I badly need to have this kheer to restore my taste buds. Give that to me."

Naniji stood up and gave two packets to Mamiji saying: "Manorama pass this to the bahus as a shagun for their first rasoi."

Mami sarcastically said: "Kaheka rasoi Sasuma, itna sundar halwa ke khatir ka?" ("What cooking sasuma. For making so delicious halwa?")

Payal was embarrassed and feeling insulted, not knowing how she did such a silly mistake of adding salt instead of sugar. She remembered how she was planning to put salt in Khusi's kheer but before she could do that Anjali had shifted her vision towards her involving her in the ladies gossip she and Khusi were doing, which resulted in her adding the salt to her halwa instead of Khusi's kheer.

Nani seeing Payal's teary eyes said: "Manorama, Sabse galti ho jati hai. Aapse jitna kaha hai utna hi kijiye" ("Manorama, Mistakes happen by everyone. Do as much you have been told.")

Manorama first gave the gift to Khusi, who as a token of respect touched her feet and Mami said: "Touching feet will not do. Make sugar free burfies for me tomorrow." Khusi happily nodded her head. She then passed the gift to Payal and went away muttering something about the bad halwa.

Nani: "Anjali Bitya, Tell your brothers that Madhumatiji had called. They need to drop their respective wives at their mayaka for pag-phera and fetch them back in the evening. And yes, they too need to gift something to their wives for this first-rasoi." Saying this she went away. Anjali asked the couples to get ready and leave for Buaji's house. The couples went to get ready.
