PART 11

Recap : The guys get approval for Taani and Sharon to be AGS and ACS. Sharon accidentally hugs Swayam for saving them. Taani and Rey tease them and they all have a good laugh.

10:00 am

Sharon and Taani were in Sharon's house to finish up some last minute work. After running through a checklist, they both chat while having coffee.

"So today's the day out with the guys" said Sharon

"I think they're taking all this a bit too seriously" said Taani

"I hope they don't go through too much trouble" replied Sharon "but it'll be nice of them obsessing over us"

"Right" said Taani "especially Swayam" she laughed

"Heyy…nothing like that" said Sharon "Rey's the romantic one of the college"

"no…..actually both of them are known for that" replied Taani

"You know that payal female right?" asked Sharon

"Ya miss popularity snob" replied Taani "so much attitude"

"Yea….her…you know what? She looks at both of us as if we killed her family or something" said Sharon

"She's probably just jealous" replied Taani "I heard that Rey and Swayam used to give her a lot of attention before, and now they don't even look at her…..so she kind of thinks that we're the reason for that"

"Ohh…so that's the huge reason" said Sharon "serves her right" They laughed.

"You guys are sooo looow" the said together imitating payal's most famous line, expression and accent.

"dude…we had so much work yesterday…just the first day and….uff now I realize why they need assistants…no one can do this type of work alone…" said Sharon

"I know right? Papers, papers and more papers" replied Taani "But even ater the checklist…I feel we've missed something out….something that we have to do before we can go out today"

"Really ?" asked Sharon and launched into deep thought. She looked around a couple of times and then exclaimed:

"OH MY GOD!!"

"What? What is it?" asked Taani

"Do you have anything to wear today?" asked Sharon

"Yea…that's it!" replied Taani "We had agreed to go shopping yesterday remember? And we couldn't because of the work"

"Oh Yea…" replied Sharon "Now what to do?"

"I don't know" replied Taani "I swear I cannot wear anything that's in my wardrobe right now"

"Let's go now" replied Sharon

"Now?" asked Taani "Oh yea…your driver can take us there right?"

Yea of cour…..Oh no no" cried Sharon, expression changing from brightened to tragic "I can't go anywhere today….my car's down"

"Great!" said Taani throwing up her hands "Now what? Taxi? Auto?... Bus?"

"Oh I hate going on those" relied Sharon "Don't we have a fourth option?"

"I guess not" replied Taani "It's not like we can cancel the day with….the BOYS!"

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Asked Sharon

"Oh I'm thinking it alright" replied Taani

"So…" said Sharon

"So?" asked Taani

"Call…" replied Sharon

"No not me….you call" argued Taani

"No way…I asked you first" said Sharon

"Oh come on Sharon…you call please" pleaded Taani

"Ok fine" Sharon agreed "I'll call"

"And put it on loudspeaker" added Taani "I don't wanna miss out on you two lovebirds"

Sharon glared, dialed Swayam's number and put it on loudspeaker.

"Hello…" a voice came after a few minutes

"Oh hi Sway….." began Sharon

"You've reached Swayam Singhania" it continued "I'm either really busy or just sleeping and can't pick up my phone, so you can leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you" The phone beeped and Sharon cut it without leaving any message.

"It was a…..voice mail?" asked Taani

"Yup" replied Sharon "or just sleeping? I bet that's the case now but….who puts that in a voice mail?"

"Just try again" begged Taani "maybe he didn't hear the phone ring"

Sharon tried a few more times, but to no use.

"Now can you call?" asked Sharon "Oops my phone's battery is low, let me char….never mind, it's turned off"

"Ok I'll call" replied Taani as a smile escaped her lips

"Ohh…. Thinking of calling Rey and already blushing and all huh?" teased Sharon

"No…I just remembered a very hilarious joke" defended Taani

"Then would you like to share it?" asked Sharon raising her eyebrows

"I…ummm….it…it was…ehh" Taani fumbled for words

"Ok Ok I get , it was a joke alright" Sharon smiled "Now call"

"Ok fine I'm doing it" replied Taani as she dialed Rey's number

"And put it on loudspeaker" Sharon imitated Taani "I don't wanna miss out on you two lovebirds"

It was Taani's turn to glare as she put it on loudspeaker…

AT THE SINGHANIA HOUSEHOLD

10:00 am

Rey had just come back from his daily 2 hour morning jog. He usually went at 5 but due to the previous night's work, he had slept late and gone at 8 instead. He went to Swayam's room to see if he had woken up. Swayam was curled up in his bed, fast asleep, hugging his pillow and smiling.

"Hey Swayam…wake up" said Rey loudly

Nope. No effect on Swayam. He hadn't even moved .

"Dude come on…how long will you sleep?" asked Rey, louder.

Still no response.

"Hmmm….let's see how you sleep when I use 'THE DAD' method" he said as he went near Swayam's bed and pinched him hard.

"Ow…." Swayam shouted as he sat up abruptly "Ok Dad I'm awake I'm awake….wait…what? Rey?"

"Good Morning" said Rey

"Hardy har har" replied Swayam mock laughing "not cool man… I thought it was Dad"

"You wouldn't wake up" replied Rey "I had to do it"

Swayam fell back groaning

"Dude…It's a Sunday….Lemme get my beauty sleep, I've got a big date today"

Rey rolled his eyes and noticed Swayam's phone flashing on the bedside table. He took it

"Five missed calls from Janie" he read aloud "wait….who's Janie?"

Swayam sat up again "Janie? Ohh….you mean Jaani…that's Sharon…Wait…5 MISSED CALLS!!?" He snatched the phone

"Dude…Jaani spells J,A,A,N,I and not J,A,N,I,E. You must've been drooling over the thought of her while typing it that you spelled a simple 5-letter word wrong" Rey slapped his forehead.

"Dude..forget the spelling" replied Swayam trying to call Sharon for the third time "Damn…her phone's switched off…I hope she's not angry"

"Maybe she heard your stupid voice message and turned her phone off for good" chuckled Rey "and better change that spelling cuz if she sees it, she's gonna think you've got a gig with aother girl, and believe me you don't want that"

"Ok fine…..HERE! changed the spelling….HAPPY?" he asked

"Very" replied Rey

Just then his phone rang. 'PRINCESS CALLING….' It said

"Taani?" he quizzed as he picked up the call

"Hello?" he asked

"Oh hi Rey…" replied Taani

"Hi….." said Rey "How…come you…called?"

"Put it on loudspeaker" whispered Swayam. Rey did.

"Ya…I was thinking if you could do me a favour"

"What kind of favour?" asked Rey

"Could you take me and Sharon to the mall?" asked Taani "It's kind of urgent"

"Nooo" signaled Swayam. They knew how long girls took to shop.

"The mall? Umm….I…Uhh actually…" Rey fumbled for an excuse and looked over at Swayam, but he too had nothing.

On the other side, hearing this, Sharon signaled a long 'Please'.

"Pleaaase" asked Taani

Rey immediately melted at this tone of Taani's. "Ya sure" he replied "Why not?"

Swayam hung his head and collapsed onto the bed.

"Thanks Rey" said Taani

"Anytime" replied Rey

"Bye"

"Bye"

They both disconnected.

"Yes" the girls announced together

"What the hell is wrong with you?" asked Swayam

"Hey I can't say no to that" replied Rey "You heard how sweetly she asked"

"UGHHH!" said Swayam

"Hey chill dude" replied Rey "Sharon…I mean Janie's gonna be there" He laughed

"It's Jaani" argued Swayam "But that is a good reason for me to come"

Soon the boys got ready, picked up the girls and headed for the mall. Once there, the girls right away started browsing different shops while the boys just stood there bored.

"Oh I'm gonna kill you when we get home" said Swayam

"Oh don't bother" replied Rey yawning "I'll turn into a skeleton or something here itself…anyway I'm off"

"To where?" enquired Swayam

"I have to get Taani something" replied Rey

"Me too" agreed Swayam "Meet back here in 1 hour?"

"Fine" replied Rey

They trailed off.

1 HOUR LATER...

Swayam and Rey met at the same place. They each had a bag in their hand.

"Done?" asked Rey

"Done" replied Swayam

Just then the girls came holding large shopping bags.

"No wonder you took time" Commented Swayam

"Sorry guys, got bored?" asked Taani

"Nah…It's fine" replied Rey

"Ya totally" added Swayam

"What's that?" asked Sharon pointing at the bag in Swayam's hand

"Ohh..that's just our….new game and stuff" replied Swayam

"ohh" were the girls' response

"So..shall we go?" asked Rey

"Yea sure" answered Sharon

They walked off to the parking lot. When they reached the car, Swayam offered the front seat to Taani so that he could sit behind with Sharon. Soon they reached Sharon's house.

"I'll walk you over" jumped in Swayam as Sharon waved bye to everyone

"aww thanks Swayam" replied Sharon

As they reached the door of her house, Sharon hugged Swayam.

"Thanks…a lot Swayam" she said

"You're….uhh….welcome" replied Swayam dazed

Sharon laughed and ruffled Swayam's hair

"See you in the evening"

"Ya…see…you…" stammered Swayam

IN THE CAR

As soon as Swayam and Sharon left, Taani and Rey sat awkwardly for a few seconds. Then finally, Taani spoke up

"Heyy Rey..I'm really sorry you had to come so early on a Sunday. You probably hate shopping and I know you were bored there…I'm so sorry I…" Rey interrupted Taani's apology by keeping his finger on her mouth.

"Shhh" he replied "It's okay…and you don't have to apologize or thank me repeatedly for that" He removed his finger.

Taani slowly leaned towards Rey and gently kissed his cheek. Then, she whispered in his ear "But I will anyway….Thanks". She sat back smiling. Rey, in surprise and shock was about to say something (or faint 😛) when a dazed Swayam hit the side of the car. He then proceeded to open the door and get inside, still as if in dream.

"Swayam!" Rey called out, coming back to his senses "Aren't you supposed to open the door before you come in? what did you think? You could just pass through?"

"Huh?" replied Swayam coming back too "Uhh…yea…I…forgot…I think"

Rey shook his head and started the car again. He was still in a state of shock and happiness. He looked at Taani a couple of times but she didn't make eye contact. After sometime…

"Umm…Rey?" asked Taani "You just passed my house"

He stopped the car suddenly.

"I'm so so sorry…I ….I just..uhh.." he mumbled

Taani laughed. "It's fine…I'll just walk"

"No no this is entirely my fault…I'll walk you over or something" he replied

"It's fine Rey, It's just here. And anyway you can't keep the car in the middle of the road" Taani pointed out

"Fine" agreed Rey "You sure you'll be okay?"

"I'm sure" replied Taani "Anyway thanks for the ride Rey…you too Swayam..thanks for bearing with us today"

"No probs you're welcome" replied Swayam

"Bye" she waved

"Bye" the boys waved back as she walked back.

As they drove back to their house, the boys could certainly hear themselves thinking "Today was a good day"….
