Chapter 7

This was their routine. Everyday they avoided talking to each other. Randhir tried to talk to her only to face disappointment. He couldn't see her like that. He wanted her to fight with him, but sanyukta only ignored him. She was already so drained out with the happenings, she hardly felt like talking to him or rather fight with him. The engagement preparations were going on full swing. It was Friday and the engagement was on Sunday. She just went with the flow; she just did what she was asked to... her smile had gone on a holiday. No signs of happiness shone on her face. She kept herself engaged in some or the other work. Sanyu's mom had given up to her dad's decision.

Sanyu's dad worked from home as he had to look after her daughter's engagement preparations. Ankit and Randhir preferred to stay back at home. Everybody was at the breakfast table. Sanyu was in kitchen and sanyu's mom was serving at the table. The bell rang and sameer walked in. He greeted everybody. Sanyu's parents welcomed him and asked him to join at the table for breakfast. He agreed. Randhir was worried that if sameer had recognized him. Sameer saw randhir and immediately recongnized him.

A- aree jiju inse miliye, yeh randhir hai, hamare office mai internship kar raha hai.

Sam- ha mai janta hu isse. Us din jab hum sanyukta ko dekne aaye the tab hum mile the.

A- acha who kaise.

Sam- agar uss din yeh nahi hota toh hum yaha aa hi nahi paate. Who hamare gaadi kharab hogai thi aur tabhi randhir ne aake hamari help ki hi.

All smiled at randhir. He turned around and saw sanyukta wiping her tears from the corner of her eyes. She came into the hall. Sameer greeted her and she smiled sadly.

Sam- Actually uncle mai aapse kuch puchna chahta hu.

S.D- ha beta kaho kya baat hai.

Sam- who uncle mera ek dost hai... aur aaj uska birthday hai aur usne mujhe aur sanyukta ko invite kiya hai. Uncle agar aapki ha ho toh kya mai sanyukta ko apne sath le jaa sakta hu ?

Randhir's eyes shot up. He somehow didn't want sanyukta to go with him

S.D - lekin beta (hesitantly) ab tak toh tumhaari sagai parsu hai aur aaj iss tarah se...

Sam- mein samjh sakta hu uncle .. lekin sirf kuch hi ghanto ki baat hai. Mai sanyukta ko raat mai ghar chod dunga. Aur uncle hum jaldi hi wapas aajayenge.

After much efforts of sameer to convince sanyukta's dad , he agreed surprising both randhir and sanyukta. Sameer bend to take his blessings. he then went to sanyukta who was standing at the other end of the table. He went closer to her irking randhir. He said her to be ready by 7 pm. She quietly nodded. Randhir as taken aback. He din expect sanyukta to agree so easily. Sameer smiled victoriously. Randhir notced this smile. He found something unusal. He couldn't understand at that moment. Sameer took everyone's leave.

S.D- Aaj shaam ko sabke saath dhang se muskurake baat karna. Meri izzat ka khayal rakhna. Samjhi tum.

S.M- yeh toh achi baat hui. Sanyu issi bahane tumhara man behel jaayenga.

Sanyu nodded and left for her room. Sanyu's mom got busy with the daily chores. All the three men went to study to discuss some project. Randhir was lost. He felt something was wrong. Sameer's unusual smile, sanyukta agreeing to his request...

@ evening

Everybody were enjoying the evening snacks with tea. Sameer was also there conversing with them while waiting for sanyukta to come down. Randhir was inside his room. He wanted to tell her not to go with sameer. He felt something wrong was to happen, and he didn't want her to fall into trouble. He tried calling her. Sanyukta was getting ready. She wore a black dress with red border. She put on light make up and darkened her eyes with kohl. She checked herself in the mirror. She heard her phone ring. It showed "MCP". She cut the call. Randhir called her again and she cut it again. Randhir gave up. He mumbled to himself "yeh ladki sach mai pagal hai". He heard ankit calling him downstairs. He wore a black t-shirt , put on a red jacket and went down.
