TR room, taani adjusting herself on the bed with difficulty..rey came out of washroom..late in the

night

Taani is this whole stuff done now? She nodded good because you need to start taking rest...your

backache s worsening kyunki tum rest nahin karthi

She didnt reply, instead tried to lie down in a specific posittion with difficulty. He frowned at her

and went to help her but she said main karloongi dismissively and lie down turning away from his

side of the bed

Rey s frown became worse, he marched to his place grumbling ek tho u miss an appointment and

upar se she doesnt even feel sorry about it and lie down on his side without talking to her

Taani knew she had to apologise to him for missing the appointmnet but ...is waqt agar main kuch

bhi kahoongi tho ulta hi kahoongi...her mind was still processing swayam saying aashi tho pehle

hi aagayi thi 10 days back...rey ke saath

Aur rey...rey ne nahin bataya ki wo aashi ke saath aaye the...and shut her eyes tight , her fingers

clenched...situation hi kuch aisa tha ki shayad rey bhool gaye..but...the uneasy voice in her head

persisted...aashi mujhse mili tak nahin! And had a glimpse of a happy aashi saying something

that made her laugh happily with her, she missed her- missed telling her her daily stuff, missed

how she got her to crib abour reys mom and feel better, missed telling her how she felt when the

baby kicked or about the wrong match of neha s dress...her eyes filled and she wiped them

hurriedly taking care to hide them.she didnt want to talk to rey now

Or maybe she should ...poochlena taani...kya poochoon? She fidgeted...her stupid back was more

painful in this position but if she turned, she had to face him...kuch mat poocho, just let it be...aisi

koi baat nahin hogi jiske wajah se tumhe hurt hosakhe...jealous hone ka reason bhi nahin hain..

Aashi s message had said ...and had another glimpse of aashi giving rey a side hug as he held

her after some performance long ago...hey krishnaji, meri dimaakh mein yeh kya kya ideas

aarahe hain, please make them go away...and again fidgeted pulling one leg up and trying to

adjust, she wished the pain would go..the baby seemed to be kicking on her sides as well now

Rey- He hated this kind of a silence between them and she was fidgeting continuously, the stupid

backache! Usko neend bhi nahin aayegi in that position , waise bhi is room mein hi usko neend

kam aathi hain he bent over to the side table, picked out a pain balm and lifting the top up of her

night suit started rubbing the balm on her back in slow circular movements

She stiffened for a second as her top went up and she felt his fingers apply the balm ...then clench

ed the pillow in her fist tightly...the warmth of the balm and of his fingers slowly massaging her

back rhythmically relaxed her tensed muscles, the knot in her brain loosened and the uneasy

feeling in her heart reduced with his slow massage inke baare mein aise kaise soch sakthi hoon?

Taani ur a fool and shook her head

She turned to his side exactly at the moment he bent towards her to ask okay? She took in the

concerned irritation written clearly over his face and nodded. He gave her a quick peck on the

lips and went back to his place keeping the balm back on the table and looked ...she had turned

towards him, he smiled and she moved into his arms head on his chest, one of her legs on him

and sighed as his arms went around her, the baby kicked continuously , rey felt it and stroked her

tummy but taani couldnt bring herself to talk to baby in the usual way

After a second she said sorry rey he kissed the top of her head and said its okay sweetheart , lets

go next week she wondered what he meant and then realised he was talking of the appointment,

she smiled ,she was thinking of other stuff...bekaar ki baatein and snuggled to him closer ignoring

a part inside said tho phir inhone kyun nahin bataya ki aashi inke saath aayi thi?

Four five days later-TR room--taani sleeping on the bed pillows propped up everywhere...rey came in from the washroom

calling her Taani get up...she didnt, she was tired and tired ...he sat next to her smiled and kissed

her , she stirred smiled a little but didnt get up.he shook her, she frowned and opened her eyes

sleepily mumbling rey please

We have to leave today wedding ke liye he said bending over her

She opened her eyes immediately and turned her face to him haan, mujhe sharon bhabhi ke

saath shopping jaana tha plus packing bhi baaki hain and got up pushing him off her . He pulled

her back as she stood up making her bend and said wheres my good morning kiss? Tum aaj kal

kuch zyaada hi ignore karrahin ho mujhe

she smiled guiltily and gave him a quick kiss , he didnt let her go with that but pulled her closer , he

r back ached as she bent and she struggled free and gave him an apologetic look her hand

holding her back...he understood and said first thing when we get back... the doctor. She nodded

and went to the washroom saying good morning utgaye ho mentally to the kid, no kick

Door knock and rey opened it to find sunithi with tea and toast saying madam ne kahaaan tha,

didi keliye referring to his mom

he smiled as she walked in placed the tea on the side table and told her tum aaj taani ki packing

mein help kardogi? Warna wo phir se uparwaale room ...

Haan haan sir...main sab nikaalke dedoongi unhe.us din girne ke baad se hi unko seediyaan

chadna nahin tha and shaking her head us din tho itna khoon nikalrahaan tha aur phir bhi

unhone ...stopped smiling at taani who came out of the washroom , looked at the tea and smiled

back at her didi bohot himmatwaali hain...taani and rey smiled at her and she went out , rey not

realising she had spoken of taani falling down not reys dad and taani handt heard that at all

Taani took the tea and sat on the bed as rey still smiling told her she heroworships you ...taani

laughed and showed him a her wrist.there was a small daaga tied around her wrist...usne diya

kal so that my delivery goes fine

Rey laughed and said and you are wearing it!

Her belief rey , agar main pehenthi hoon tho usse safe lagega and shrugged, he smiled at her

pulling her leg afterall best friend hain tumhaari!

Taani s smile disappeared best friend ! Where was she? And looked at rey , he noted the silence

and raised his eyebrows

Rey...ummm...wo aashi...wo aashi mera call kyun nahin utaarahin hain? Aur kisi ko batake bhi

nahin gayi hain

He turned , went to the cupboard and said let her be taani

Did she imagine it or was he avoiding looking at her? then he turned and caught her staring at

him with wide eyes and coming to sit beside her , held her hand and said dont worry, leave her

alone that meant he knew something?she felt a mild kick

And she stared at him , a huge part of her brain knew if she asked him anything else he would

blow his top off but then a huge part of her heart felt a dread that she couldnt ignore

Her mobile rang...that uncle..rey passed it to her...hello uncle good morning...and listened...umm

umm umm...ok,main aaj ke liye aajaaoongi...rey made a NO face at her, she bent her head

avoiding him dad mom delhi gaye hain ek hafthe ke liye but jo bhi plannning karna hain aaj finish

karthe hain bcoz main...

I know thats why i wanted you aaj, you are out of town for three days ...so see you at office.

She disconnected and looked at rey, he walked off obviously irritated but somehow she couldnt

bring herself to calm him or explain anything...she was somewhere angry with him for hiding

something and with herself for...zyaada sochne ke liye...She gulped her tea and hoped to meet

aashi at the wedding atleast...warna main paagal hojaaoongi yeh soch soch ke ki problem

Wedding venue of nil/simmi- a day later some resort kind of a place little away from the city,day

before the wedding , gangs generally busy and happy sitting at a place and watching things

happening here and there...no aashi...its a christian wedding ( dont ask me why, just felt like it

though im not going into details of anything..happy nil simmi wedding.fullstop about them )

TR room

Taani trying on the dress that simmi had bought for her ,frowning in front of the mirror

Ready? Chalo and rey stopped , she looked lovely, the gown hugging her curves perfectly in

the upper half spread out lower hiding her bulging tummy just enough..the chain he had gifted

nestling in the small dip below her neck...at times like this he had remind himself she was pregnant

he sighed ...she looked very graceful, the flush on her cheek complimenting the glow which

seemed to envelope her completely nowadays making him wonder where it came from- from her

eyes or her heart or the baby? Wherever- he was glad he was the one seeing her like this -

except - except that she was frowning

He moved to her , putting his hand around her shoulders softly said you need just one thing to

look completely perfectly stunning

Kya? Oh no maine sindoor nahin lagaaya? She moved towards the dressing table the frown still

put on her face but he pulled her back

Sindoor ispe suit nahin karega taani, i meant your smile..thats missing and made a smiley on her

Her frown deepened , she said oh cmon rey, main itni ...and made a big big gesture with her

hands and she bent her head...i cant even see my feet.

He bent his head along with her and said dont worry, its still on the ground she tried to shake him

off but he just held her tighter

mujhe aana hi nahin chahiye tha wedding but i so badly wanted to come, sabke saath time spend

karne ka last chance baby ke aane se pehle but see abh yahaan aashi nahin hain, the girls are

all busy aur mujhe koi kuch kaam hi nahin karne detha..sharon bhabhi ne mana karke rakha hain

sabko she grumbled on top of it ,i look funny looked at the mirror

you are looking perfect, just relax taani and smile and bending sideways kissed her softly

catching her cheek between the ear and eye, she blushed involuntarily as he kissed her again

now near the ear brushing her ear slightly as she turned and whispered rey! We have to go

He placed another kiss on her cheek sighing saying chalo, better we get out of here

She looked at the love overflowing in his eyes and felt guilty for ever doubting him but he chose

the exact moment to say but u know aashi hothi tho wo hamesha hamare beech mein

aajaathi hain , in a way good shes not here

moving away slightly as he said it , he held her at arms length hands on the

shoulder and then finding the gown turned up at one place bent to make that proper not catching

the confusion on her face---he was giving her such confusing signals or was it that mujhe sab kuch weird lagrahaan hain..

Some outdoor place lighted up , all tables and chairs haphazardly placed crowd almost emptying

Taani sitting at a table drumming on it, rey next to her gave her a look which said stop drumming ...

there were two more ppl at the table...she frowned and continued to drum..the two ppl left and rey

turned to her Itna hyper kyun ho? Kabse sabko bhagaarahin ho...rinni ke dress pe comment kiya?

Rinni ke dress funny thi tho comment kiya she persisted, he sighed and moving towards her held

her hands across the table to stop the drumming and said whats it sweetheart?

She looked at him and felt the familiar melting of all doubts but then again something he ll say

aur wo sab waapas aayega ...she frowned and shook her head and as a peppy music started

took back her hand saying kuch nahin, chalo rey, dance karthe hain and stood up as some of the

remaining ppl started dancing to the beats

He listened to the beats and said ispar? No you cant...kuch slow music aane do na tab...

Kyun? Matlab kyun? main nahin karsakthi? Yeh kya feeling hain aapki ki sirf aur sirf aapki team

he opened his mouth now getting a little bugged with her unreasonable screaming but before he

could say more than taa..she continued ...oh yes, main tho aapki dance partner nahin hoon tho

He got up shut up taani , i only meant you are pregnant his voice steely and this is fast

For s second his steely voice scared her.she had long ago forgotten his anger but she held herself

and turned without a word ...he moved to her and holding her elbow stopped her saying now in a

forced normal voice what the hell s wrong taani? Ek minute teek ho tho next moment you are

upset. Kuch hua hain tho batao na. Tum Mujhse chupaaogi?

She smiled grimly and said aap mujhse kuch nahin chupaathe? He shook his head , she raised

her eyebrows and stared into his eyes ...he met her stare without hesitating..and she decided to

the mobile tight grip and then fumbled Matlab leave her taani.. Itni raat hogayi hain

her when he spoke

Yes...bcoz ... she smiled wryly.so she had been right, he was hiding something, her heart sank..
