Her fingers ran through the pages as she turned them, her eyes reading the words written in bold while her mind tried to remember them. She looked up to the man who sat opposite to her. He didn't look back instead sat very comfortably, his finger wrapped around the lighter as he lit the cigarette trapped between his teeth.

"Is this all?" She asked out aloud to him and rolled her eyes in frustration when he didn't bother to reply. "Something's not right. I don't understand this! Don't understand the clauses or the agreement." She said again, this time trying to make an impact by dropping the file in her hand on the table with a big thud. He didn't even blink an eye.

"What's there not to understand?" He finally replied in a husky voice after what seemed like an eternity. His sea blue orbs piercing into her black ones. "The contract is very simple. Perhaps you can't read properly, do you want me to call a translator for you? Someone who can read it out loud for you to understand." Her eyes shot daggers at him for his mocking statement. However he looked back at her unbothered. Shaking her head to control her anger, she took a breath and replied, "What I mean to ask is how does this work?"

He sighed in annoyance and spoke in a tone as thou speaking was a big favour he was doing for her, "Its simple love. You asked me for a favour and I will fulfil it, in return you would have to do the same. I will do whatever you say, not caring about the work or the consequences followed. When the time comes, you would have to do whatever I ask you to. No questions asked. I can't make it more simpler than this!"

She pondered for a moment rethinking her decision of coming to him. But, she had no choice. Only he could help her at this point and she badly needed him as much as she would like to deny that particular fact. She was playing with dangerous water here.

"What will you ask me to do?" She asked afraid for the first time in her life. He just shrugged in response which made it more worse. "Will you ask me to do illegal works for you?" He was known for his illegal activities and his various scams. What if he wanted her to get involved too? She could not afford being part of his evil plans. She had too much to lose.

He gave a her look before bursting into a laughter. She looked back at him confused and a little annoyed. "You think I will give you the opportunity to work for me? Get involved in my business? You're cute."

She wanted to punch him hearing his arrogant reply. Punch that smirk right off his painfully beautiful face but at the same time she was relieved to a greater extent. So she let it go. After all she did need him. She could save all these actions for future. 'Also business? Really? Did these criminals label their crime as business. That's cute.' She thought.

"Can you please hurry. I don't know about you but I don't plan to spend my entire life sitting here." He interrupted her chain of thoughts. "And I thought you were the one in hurry. Remember the clock is ticking."

Reality kicked in her senses as he said that. She quickly took a black pen from his table, which was very organized like his appearance. Neat and clean. If only he as a human being was that clean. Her mind kept running back and forth at the thought as she signed the paper. Handing him the papers, she took a breath of relief. It was weird that she was feeling as though half her problems were already solved. She trusted him despite everything.

"Well done. Just remember a thing, from this point onwards there is no going back." He stated in a firm tone and all she could do was nod. "Very well. Your package will be delivered to you by midnight." Saying this he started walking out.

"How dare you call my.." she shouted behind him but he was long gone. As the silence of the room greeted her, she thought about her decision again. Slowly falling into the couch she occupied earlier, her heart beating fast, she let her reality sweep in.

She just made a deal with the devil.
