A Night To Remember

A TaaRey Story

Taani's POV

"Rey," I whispered into what seemed like the night. Our room was so dark that my eyes couldn't find Rey even though he was sleeping right next to me.

I felt the bed and hit something hard. Rey''s arm, I hoped.

"Rey," I whispered again. "Kya hai Taani?" he mumbled into his pillow. He was still half asleep. "Rey, wake up. I want ice-cream."

This was the first time this was happening in the three months of my pregnancy and I was well, confused. Yes, I, Taani Reyaansh Singhania, was pregnant. It was a pleasant experience so far due to my loving husband, Rey. But right now, nothing was pleasant.

"Rey!" I said a little louder. "Get up." "Why?" he asked and slowly sat up.

There was something sexy about the way he looked when he first woke up.

Wait. Taani, that is not your concern right now!

"I'm hungry," I told him.

"So go get something from the kitchen," he mumbled while yawning.

As if I hadn't already looked through the kitchen.

"Rey, if I hadn't already done that, I wouldn't be waking you up. And there's no strawberry ice-cream in the freezer. So pick up your keys and let's go."

I grabbed his hand, ready to get out of the bed and out the door. I really wanted that ice-cream.

"Taani, Taani wait," Rey said and pulled me back. I landed right next to him. "Kya?" I asked.

He put his arm around my shoulder and said, "Don't you think you're getting a little too hyper? I mean, come on, it's just ice-cream. And I know I love you and can do anything for you but when I made that promise, getting ice-cream at 2 AM wasn't really on my mind."

"Strawberry. Strawberry ice-cream," I corrected him. "Not just any ice-cream. And what do you mean? You don't love me?"

I turned away from him. Along with this pregnancy came these mood swings. They were DEFINITELY not pleasant. I felt tears well up in my eyes. Why am I crying? I wiped the tears away and Rey turned me back to face him.

"Taani, why are you crying? Acha, I'm sorry. You want ice-cream right? Let's go," he said after he carefully wiped away the tears from my cheeks. "Okay," I said, my voice soft.

Rey grabbed his keys and we headed out to his car.

Rey's POV

"Thank you Rey," Taani said and leaned over to kiss my cheek. I smiled and wiped some of the ice-cream off of her nose. She was just like a little kid; stubborn but adorable. Reyaansh Singhania didn't drive around the city at 2 AM to find strawberry ice-cream for just anyone. Taani was special. She had always been. There was just something about her that was different from every other girl.

She leaned against me, resting her head on my shoulder. I slid my arm around her waist and we just sat there, quietly. It was the peaceful kind of quiet. The one that we both loved. We were that couple that didn't need words to express our feelings to each other. We just knew what the other was feeling.

"Rey, do you remember the first time that we met? We used to fight so much. Those moments, I'm never going to forget them," she said.

My smile grew wider as I remembered our first meeting. I had accidentally bumped into her on the way to college and ended up spilling coffee all over her dress. She fought with me so much and we both ended up being late for class. My smile grew wider as an idea struck my mind.

"Taani, how about we meet again?" I asked. She looked up at me, confused. "What?" she questioned. "I mean that we should re-enact our first meeting, just for the sake of it," I replied. "Rey, have you gone crazy? We're nothing like the time that we met. We're both different people. Besides, I don't like fighting with you." She snuggled up closer to me. "Come on Taani. Once," I insisted. "Fine," she replied after giving it a thought.

I smiled and stood up, offering her my hand. She stood up as well.

"Ready, Mrs. Singhania?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. I walked back a bit and started walking towards her again, not paying attention to where I was going. I bumped into her, spilled her bottle of water which she was holding, and caught her around the waist before she could fall.

"This something different, Mr. Singhania," she said, surprised. "I don't quite remember our first meeting being this romantic."

"Well, you see sometimes changes need to be made. For example, instead of Ms. Shekawat, I have Mrs. Singhania in my arms right now," I replied, grinning.

"Oh, I see. Well Mr. Singhania, you just spilled water all over my favourite Mickey Mouse shirt, but I'll forgive you. Only on one condition," she demanded.

"And what's that?" I asked as I brought her to a standing position once again.

"You have to dance with me. Right here. Right now," she said.

"Right now?" I questioned, worried. "Yes. And don't looks so worried. It's 2 AM. No ones going to find us here," she replied. "Alright," I said and took out my phone. I started playing a song, one Taani loved the most.

"My favourite song!" Taani exclaimed. "May I have this dance?" I asked, offering my hand. She placed her hand in mine and we began to sway to the music.

Taani's POV

I took in a breath of fresh air as I laid my head in Rey's chest.

"I love you," I said softly.

I could tell he was smiling. I didn't have to look up to his face to know he was.

"I know. And I love you even more than you'll ever know," was his reply.

It was times and words like these that made my heart melt. Rey was so precious to me, more than anyone would ever know.

"Okay, dance over. We should get home now. It's pretty late and you have a check up tomorrow," Rey said, slowly pulling me off of him.

"Here comes Mr. Responsible Reyaansh," I said with a laugh. "Let's go," he said and took my hand.

He led me over to the car and we drove home. I insisted on Rey singing one of my favourite songs before I went to bed.

As he played his guitar, I slowly drifted off to sleep. This night had been a memorable one. I just hoped that every upcoming moment after this in my life was just as memorable and precious. And why wouldn't it be? Rey was with me, what else did I need?

A/N: Hello TaaRey fans! This was my very first piece of work on TaaRey! This was originally written on another couple but I decided to write on TaaRey as well! And before I get eggs and tomatoes thrown at me for writing this, let me just say that I was half asleep when I got this idea and started writing it and this turned out completely different from what I had thought. Anyways, do leave your opinions! I love hearing them (good or bad).
