Chapter 3

When Kriya reaches there, Rey is listening to various songs on his I-Pod. He hadn't noticed her entering. Kriya walks towards him angrily and snatches the earphones out of his ears.
Rey: What the hell...
Rey turns around to face the person who dared to mess with him.
Kriya: You're right Rey. What the hell... What the hell are you trying to do? Akhir chahte kya hai aap?
Rey: Woh!!! Kriya control!
Rey says putting his palms infront as a barrier.
Kriya: Control? Kya control karun Rey. Subah se ye gussa CONTROL kar arhi hun. Ab kya CONTROL karun mein!
Kriya starts moving toward him as she speaks. Rey moves one step backward with each approaching step of Kriya's.
Rey: Hua kya hai Kriya. Tum itni hyper kyon ho?
Kriya: Ye aap khud se puchiya! Pata chal jaayega. Pehle toh aapka woh angry young man wala attitude. And then the flowers and the puppy! What do you exactly want Rey?
Rey: Angry Young Man! Cool!
Kriya: Main Mazak ke mood mein nahin hun Rey!
Rey: Toh maine kab kahan ki main mazak kar raha hun. First of all, Sorry. Rude hone ke liye.
Kriya: Sorry! Bas sorry! Aapko lagat hai ek sorry se mera gussa thanda ho jayega.
Kriya was still moving towards Rey, who was now at the edge of the raising.
Kriya took another step and Rey a step back. He loses his balance and falls backwards pulling Kriya with him. The both hit the ground with a thud. Kriya on top of Rey. [LLHH]
Rey: (whispering in Kriya's ear) Sorry!
He then smiles innocently at Kriya. Kriya comes out of her dreamworld and is now aware of the immense closeness. She immediately gets up and straightens herself.
Kriya: You okay Rey?
Rey sensing the change in atmosphere silently changes the topic.
Rey: Yes I am... Chodo woh sab lets practice.
Kriya nods in the affirmative.
Rey: So the style I've decided is salsa. Since baaki pairs unigendered hai, we have a plus point. Hum logon ko isse ek edge milegi. You know na, romantic dance is everyone's favourite. So it will be an easy win. You understand.
Kriya: Hmm...Let's begin...
The clock shows 5 pm. Its needles moves quickly while the two dance. Rey's doing salsa as the screen divides and Sharon and Ashi are seen doing contemporary, while Swayam and Shivam are doing lyrical hip-hop. The clock's needles races up to strike 8 pm.
Kriya: Thanks Rey. Routine bahut acha hai. We will surely win.
Rey: Ya of course...(looking at the clock) oh shucks!!!
Kriya: What happened Rey?
Rey: Der ho gayi. Tum kaise jaogi?
Kriya: Auto se...
Rey: Itni raat ko?
Kriya: Haan...
Rey: Toh...Mein tumhe ghar drop kar raha hun.
Kriya: Par...
Rey: Par-war kuch nahin. Mein tumhe drop kar raha hun and that's final.
Rey gives Kriya an angry look. Kriya sees this look and fakes getting scared and then they both laugh together. Suddenly the lights go off followed by a thunder. Kriya runs and hugs Rey tightly scared.
Kriya: Rey mujhe andhere se bahut dar lagta hai.
She kept on hugging him till the lights came back. Rey was too shocked to react. When the lights finally came back, Rey and Kriya get lost in each other's eyes. The world was a blur for Kriya. She only saw Rey and his eyes. She was in love with him all over again. For Rey... he was seeing his angel standing infront of him with the most beautiful eyes and lips. He wanted to touch them badly. He wanted to feel their warmth... Rey!!! Rey's mind shouted at him. Rey came back to his senses. It wasn't his mind that brought him back but it was Sharon's cough at a distance that made the two break their posture.
Sharon: Rey, Kriya... Its 8:30... Let's go home.
Rey: We were just leaving.
Rey said this and grabbed his things as well as Kriya's. He moved out without another word as Swayam patted on his back understandingly and teasingly. Kriya uncomfortably smiled at the two and took her leave.
Swayam: They both look so good together.
Sharon shook her head smling.
Meanwhile...
Rey puts the bags behind and opens the front seat door for Kriya to sit in.
Kriya: Thanks Rey but mein auto se jaa sakti hun.
Rey: Baitho Kriya!
Kriya relunctantly obeys and sits down pouting. Rey smiles a little to himself and then goes around to sit. The engine revved and Rey put on the radio. Unfortunately, there was nothing there except static. Kriya looked at Rey mockingly and then with a hopeless nod starts looking out the window. After a few moments it started to rain. Kriya placed her hand out enjoying the drizzle.
Kriya: (suddenly) Rey gadi rokiye!
Rey: (panicked) Par hua kya.
Kriya: Rokiye!
Rey stops the car immediately, as Kriya hops out and slams the door shut. Rey didn't understand her sudden reaction and got down himself. The scene infront of his eyes gave him heavenly joy. He saw Kriya dancing in the rain with the small kids like a maniac. Jumping up and down while her black hair clinged to her face. Rey gave a small laugh to himself on seeing her heartwarming smile. He ruffled his wet hair at the simplicity of the girl.
Hum tere bin ab reh nahin sakte
Tere bina kya vajood mera
Tujhse juda agar ho jayenge
To khud se hi ho jayenge juda

The children came and pulled Rey as well. They formed a circle pushing the two inwards. Kriya fell with a jerk towards Rey. Rey caught her and when she looked up the world didn't matter to the two. Rey was lost again in those beautiful brown eyes.
Note: Imagine the camera focus being shifted between their eyes.

Ik pal door gavara nahin

Tujhko diya mera waqt sabhi
Kriya blushed and then turned her face away from Rey. Rey didn't like this taking away of his sunlight. He delicately turned her face towards himself. He moves his hand smoothly across her cheek. Kriya too gives in to the touch. She is enjoying herself wholly. They both didn't realize when the children went away nor did they realize when the rain took a passionate turn.
Koi lamha mera na ho tere bina
Har saans pe naam tera
Kriya takes his hand and pulls him along. Rey was totally lost in the beauty of the girl pulling him along. He was in a trance of her fragrance that had completely taken over the atmosphere.
Kyonki tum hi ho ab tum hi ho
Zindagi ab tum hi ho
Chain bhi, mera dard bhi
Meri ashiqui ab tum hi ho
Rey didn't hear what Kriya was mumbling.
Kriya: Rey aaye baitheye.
Rey: (finally coming back to his senses) What?
Kriya: Ghar nahin jana kya aapko?
Rey: Oh...
Rey quickly opens the door for Kriya and sits in himself. He drives the car in a robotic manner. His mind being somewhere else and his body somewhere else. He drops Kriya and goes back to his own.
At Kriya's home...
Kriya: (while closing the door) Rey itne bhi bure nahin hai. Mein galat thi. He's so sweet.
She then goes to her room and changes her clothes. After finally being freshened up she opens her laptop and goes to the folder: Rey. She flips through the photos and is mesmerized by the god-like figure. His muscles and face. She loved him all.
Tere liye hi jiya main
Khud ko joy un dediya hai
Kriya: (coming out of her Rey world) Yeh kya kar ahi hai Kriya. Tu jhalli ki jhalli hi rahegi. Chal ja so ja. Kal finals hai. Tujhe perform karna hai...Rey ke saath... (she smiles to herself) Thankyou Universeji!
She winks looking above and then falls into deep sleep.
At Rey's house...
Rey was in bed and thinking.
Rey: Ye tujhe kya ho raha hai Rey? Ye ajeeb sa kyon feel kar raha hai... Empty...Hollow...But abhi kuch der pehle tak toh nahin tha yeh sab...Phir ab kyon?
Rey's mind: Kuch der pehle tu Kriya ke saath tha!
Rey: Kriya? Kya uske vajah se mein aisa feel ka rrah hun? Nahin... main to Taani se... phir ye kya hai? Agar ye pyaar hai... toh phir who kya tha...Ugh... Yeh kya ho raha hai mujhe?
He shirks off the thought and opens his laptop. He surfs through the net and finds what he needed. He was watching Kriya's audition. He was really mesmerized by her petite figure, her perfect features, her brown eyes which were full of passion, her confident smile, her accurate postures and her curves heavenly. She was like a god sent angel.
Rey: Shit!!! I am in love! I am in love with Kriya! Kriya Ghai! I love you Kriya!
He smiled at the thought and drifts of to sleep.
Teri vafa ne mujhko sambhala
Saare gamo ko dil se nikala
Tere saath mera hai naseeb juda
Tujhe paake adhura na raha

Zindagi ab tum hi ho
Chain bhi, mera dard bhi

The next day, it was time for the final performances. Sharon and Ashi were the first ones to perform and they did it brilliantly on the number Aye Khuda... Then was Swayam and Shivam who took the stage to perform on the song Ishaqzaade... Last was Rey and Kriya to perform. They did a perfect salsa number on Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani Suno...
At the time of the announcement of winners Kriya was really tensed. Her heart was racing like a cheetah. She walked up the stairs holding Rey's hand like her life was depending on her hold. Rey just looked at her with dearful eyes and smiled at her small actions.
Announcer: And the winner of the All India Dance Championship is...
At that very moment, Kriya shut her eyes. She didn't want to hear the name. Her heart ran a marathon as she rubbed her fingers behind her back.
Kriya:(chantingly) Bhagwan Ji...
After a few moments of hyperventilating, she only heard the claps and the cheering.
Rey: (whispering in her ears) You won Kriya! Now open your eyes...
Kriya hearing this opened her eyes. The sight was all blindingly starry and magical. She couldn't believe her eyes nor could she believe her ears. Has she really one? This felt more of a dream to her than the reality. After all, her long buried dream was finally coming true. She was given the award and a car.After all the ceremony, Rey pulled her aside.
Kriya: Kya hua Rey?
Rey: Woh... Actually...(he fumbled for words).
Kriya: Kya??? Acha chodiye... Mujhe aapko Thanks bolna tha... Aur...
Rey: Aur?
Kriya was about to tell him about her heart's feelings. She knew that this was the only chance she's going to get to propose to her prince of hearts.
Kriya:(with a deep inhale) I love you Rey!
Rey couldn't believe his ears. His angel had said the four beautiful words Rey wanted to hear from the beginning. He couldn't be happier than he already was. He was speechless. He was overwhelmed. He couldn't control himself and hugged his ladylove tightly. Kriya was on cloud nine when she was in Rey's embrace. Her second dream came true as well. She finally proposed to her prince charming whom she admired since God knows when. Rey suddenly came to his senses and realized he hadn't told his feeling to her as yet. He broke the hug.
Rey: Kriya Ghai... I really-honestly love you!
Kriya was totally emotional to hear the three magical words. She was taken by instincts and placed her soft pink lips on the warm ones of Rey. Rey was totally surprised by the on throw but finally gave in to love.
Sharon and Swayam were watching the two all the while. They smiled at the simplicity of their love and kissed each other at the spur of the moment. And then the moon shone its heavenly spotlight on the two pairs of lovebirds who will now be together forever till eternity.
