Chapter 24
“You’ve forgiven me?” he asked stroking her cheek with his fingers.
“Yes, ok” she answered. “But I swear, Saru if you shout at me like that…” she looked at him. Her softness gone and in its place was a fire breathing angel.
“Ok, ok” he laughed. “I had to think on the spot”.
“Don’t bring it up again, Maan. You’re spoiling the moment” she muttered.
“Sorry, I don’t want to spoil the moment” he pecked her lips again. This time taking his time to kiss her slowly and deeply. He withdrew stroking her cheek and said. “Have you eaten?”
“Yeah, I have. Aap ne?”
“No, I’m going to eat now. Come, keep me company?”
“Ok” she sat up pulling her kurta down as it had slip up exposing her stomach and shifted when he looked at her. “What?”
“Kuch kahan kya?”
“Nahi. Lekin aise dekh rahe hai jaise mujhe hi kha jaoge” she mumbled.
He laughed sliding his arm around her shoulder and leaned down. “Who said I don’t want to eat you up” he nibbled her cheek.
“Maan” she chuckled nudging him with her shoulder and pulled him out their room.
“Nak…” he was about to call for Nakul to warm his food.
“He’s probably gone to sleep. I’ll warm your food” she told him making him sit at the table and went into the kitchen preparing a plate for him.
She returned handing him the plate and placed a glass of water. Geet went back into the kitchen preparing a cup of tea for herself and joined Maan as he ate.
“You need to start taking better care of yourself, Maan” she told him watching him eat.
“I am, Geet. I’m old enough to take care of myself” he smirked.
“You know what I mean” she sipped her tea. “You’re working until its very late, you leave for work early. On weekends as well, you’re working” she said pointedly.
“It’s unfortunately part of the package of being a businessman, Geet” he replied. “If I was any other employee, I would have had a set time table and worked normal hours. But it isn't the case” he explained.
“Janti hoon, but still take care of yourself at least. Of your meals” she reasoned.
“When I have you here, why do I have to take care of myself? Tum ho na mere khayal rakhne ke liye” he winked.
“Haan haan” she rolled her eyes and sipped her tea. “Shall I get you some more?” she asked as he finished his plate of food.
“No, thanks” he responded picking his glass of water and finished it.
Geet stood taking his plate and empty glass whilst he wiped his mouth on the napkin and stood. “Geet, I’m going to the garden for some fresh air” he called out.
“Ok” she responded. She finished washing his plate and glass then walked out grabbing her remaining cup of tea and joined him outside as he sat on the chair.
“You look lost” she commented looking at him curiously as he stared ahead seemingly deep in his thoughts.
“Nothing like that” he replied and glanced at her cup. “Coffee?”
“No, tea. Coffee chahiye?” she asked.
“No, tea would do” he said taking the cup and taking a sip before handing it back to her. “How much sugar did you put in?”
“2 spoons. Its what makes me sweet” she told him proudly. “Unlike you, bitter Khurana”.
“Where do you always find these new names?” he laughed.
“I’ve got a bank full of them for you” she grinned taking a sip and handed him her cup. Maan did take another sip but scrunched his nose.
“It’s too sweet, Geet” he handed it back to her.
She shrugged one shoulder and finished the remaining cup.
“The office annual party is going to be coming up soon” Maan informed.
“Annual party?” she asked curiously wondering.
“There’s a usual annual party, it celebrates everyone’s contributions and work. The completed projects and other things to celebrate from different departments” he explained. “It’s formal get together with the staff and just everyone mingling together. Families and friends can join to celebrate as well. Dadima comes every year. Dev and Naintara join if they’re not busy with court cases”.
“When is it?”
“End of this month so 3 weeks away” he replied. “Did you want to invite your parents?”
Geet looked at him surprised and smiled feeling a stir in her heart as he mentioned her parents. She’d talked to them at least once or twice a week not as often as she wanted but she did manage it at least weekly.
“I can?”
“Of course, Geet” he looked at her confused.
“I didn’t mean to ask like I have a doubt. Now that I think about it, mumma and papa will be friendly and mingling with you and it will no doubt bring questions why my parents are calling you their son-in-law and everything else…” she pondered.
“Does it matter if the office knows that we’re married?” he asked.
“What do you think?” she smiled faintly. “Maan, I come from a small town and even I know the gossips that go around like wildfire. You’re also on the papers weekly about some successful business or something or the other. The reporters will be having a field day when reports come out – Maan Singh Khurana’s wife is a trainee at his workplace in the finance department”.
“Who cares?”
“I do” she laced her right hand with his left. “I’m happy like this. This anonymity that we have. I would like to keep it like that until I have made a mark as Geet Vihaan”.
He squeezed their entwined fingers together and hummed. “My name would have taken you to great heights, you know. Just like that” he clicked his fingers.
“Thank you, my darling husband, but I don’t want it just like that” she mocked clicking her fingers. They looked at each other and laughed.
Dadima who’d opened her sliding door to the balcony to allow some fresh air in glanced in the direction of their laughter and was so elated seeing them sitting together holding hands and laughing.
She had been so distressed since overhearing them recently about discussing a separation. She had blamed herself for ruining both of their lives. She did doubt their promise of trying again but seeing them tonight eased her restlessness.
She hoped and prayed they would be able to overcome anything and come to love each other and make this marriage work. Dadima returned inside feeling relieved and settled into her bed drifting off to sleep with a smile on her face.
Geet and Maan’s attention drew to the first drops of the rain that made its way down from the heavens. Geet placed her cup down smiling and leaped out into the garden.
“Geet, are you crazy?” Maan yelled.
“Maybe” she laughed twirling around and stretching her arms out.
Pagal ladki he shook his head. He recollected the evening when she’d played out in the rain with Naintara and her hopes on seeing Dev joining Naintara and how she’d wanted him to do the same. He swallowed and watched her.
Her white kurta sticking to her like a layer of skin. His eyes widened as he noted she wasn’t wearing a bra underneath it as her nipples poked through.
Geet hadn’t even noticed as she played in the rain like a child. Unaware of her naivety innocence that drew her husband’s attention.
He walked out slowly as if his feet were making their own decision. He slowed to a stop looking at her as she turned around and grinned.
“Maan” she squealed laughing and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Maan embraced her lifting her off her feet and held her tightly.
Geet chuckled pulling her head back and looked down at him. “You’re drenched” she pointed out.
“Because of you” he replied tilting his chin up and stared at her.
“It feels nice doesn’t it? The rains showering down” she exclaimed.
He hummed. It does feel nice. Her body pressed against his. Her breasts pushed against his hardened chest, her cleavage peeking through the v-shape of her kurta. His eyes lowered and she blushed and tensed in his arms.
“M… Maan…” she murmured placing her hands on his shoulders and tightened her hold. Her nails digging into his skin as he’d worn a vest as usual.
He pressed his face into her bosom inhaling. Geet gasped closing her eyes as he dropped a kiss to her cleavage. She clenched her teeth together as he dropped another and tasted her skin. She gasped when he opened his mouth and covered her pert nipples over her wet kurta.
“M… Maan…” she moaned softly and dug her nails into his shoulder. She leaned down pressing her cheek to his. “Koi dekh sakta hai” she stammered.
Maan snapped out of his thoughts looking around and placed her down. Her knees wobbled at the intensity of their closeness and she almost stumbled until he grabbed her and pulled her close.
“Shit, sorry Geet” he apologised rubbing a hand through his hair whilst holding her with the other. “Let’s go inside” he swallowed hard scolding himself internally for losing control like that.
Once inside the bedroom, Geet grabbed a towel and a change of clothes heading into the washroom whilst Maan changed in the bedroom.
“Be still” Geet planted a hand to her heart. “He’s your husband so hota hai…” she was feeling awkward and shy to go in front of him now. She bit down on her lower lip thinking about his lips tasting her and kissing her breast. She looked down at her t-shirt clad breasts and smiled. She tugged the t-shirt down shaking her head and paced.
“What do I do?” she mumbled. “Jao, ya na jao?”
“Geet” Maan knocked on the door. “Are you ok?” he asked.
She bit down on her lower lip trying to regulate her pacing heart and heaving lungs and composed herself to answer.
“I’m sorry, Geet… I didn’t mean to get carried away” he apologised. “Dekho… if you’re not comfortable, I can… sleep in another room. Just let me know you’re ok”.
Why is he such an ullu? Geet cribbed. Babaji kaise samjhao iss buddu ko she whined looking upwards. “I’m ok” she called out after a moment and unlocked the door stepping out.
Maan sighed in relief and grasped her upper arms. “You worried me. I’m so sorry” he apologised once again.
“N… Nahi Maan, there’s nothing to apologise for” she muttered. Two spots of red heated her cheeks.
Shit she’s so nervous and scared of me now he cursed himself and tucked his finger under her chin lifting her face slightly. “No, I shouldn’t have got carried away” he cleared his throat.
You, Saru! Ullu! Buddu! “Aise nahi hai…” she inhaled gathering her wits together and lifted her eyes to look at him. His eyes were filled with dread and concern and what looked like regret. “M… Maan…” she now looked concerned.
“I should have been careful, I’m really sorry Geet” he cupped her cheeks in his hands.
“There is nothing to apologise for” she covered his hands with hers and smiled. “I… this is my… first experience and… I… I was just shy… and nervous” she blushed.
“You sure?” he asked tilting her face up to see him. He needed to see into her eyes to know she was being truthful and not lying to make himself comfortable and at ease.
“Yes, Maan” she nodded with a shy smile.
He sighed and wrapped his arm around her hugging her. Geet smiled sliding her arms around his waist and held him.
“Come on let’s go to sleep” he suggested leading her to their bed.
Babaji! Why are all men stupid? Main larki hoon but he’s a man, right? Now he’s treating me with kiddy gloves when he’s just shown me how hot he can be! She cribbed and plastered a fake smile as he picked up the blanket and guided her onto the bed then climbed in behind her. She hummed softly as he spooned her and wrapped his arms around her body.

So so love these updates. Nice to see them enjoying each other’s company. The ease of their talks now. Little bit of romance. Maan has no Idea that geet wants more from him. She wants himOpening up. He too wants it but is afraid I guess. Waiting for that to happen do that they can actually move forward freely so love the relation between the women. Reading to each other listening. Brothers playing with each other. So lovely
