LOL..I wrote this in like grade 10 😳 but still kept it in my computer folder..so I was cleaning it today LOL.. so I just wanted to share it.

 

Married to a Murderer

 

Three years ago

 

 

"Do you think she'll say yes?" asked Amir as he looked up at Eric, who was at least 6'1, with great excitement in his eyes.  "Give it a try man," said Eric as he slapped Amir on his shoulders.  "You'll be fine."  Amir wasn't the best looking guy in New York City, as a matter of fact he wasn't even the best looking guy on his own street, but he was very nice, not to mention polite, generous, respectful and down-to-earth.  Amir was average looking and had a career in law and crime prevention.  He could very well make an honest living in New York City.  As Amir walked to Melissa's apartment, he couldn't help but wonder how his future life would be. 

 

 

"Daddy, before you come over this weekend, I need you to pick up a few things for me," Amir heard Melissa say over the phone, as she let him in.  Finishing up her conversation with her dad, Melissa sat down on the couch beside Amir.  "Melissa, you know how we've known each other for 8 years now, well there's always been something I wanted to tell you," Amir started off, right away.  Before Amir could continue, Melissa spoke up.  "Amir, you're a really nice guy, but you already know I wouldn't settle for anything less than a Brad Pitt, mixed with Orlando Bloom, and Leonardo Dicaprio look alike."  As he looked up at Melissa, he began to wonder, what happened to that girl who he had known since they were 15?  Why was her judgment so snobby?  Why was she so materialistic?

 

 

Being an only daughter, Amir knew she was spoilt, but he didn't ever think Melissa would tell him off that badly.  As he exited Melissa's apartment with nothing more left to say, he remembered all those high school memories, where he had always helped and been there for Melissa.  Exiting NYC and going to Chicago was also in Amir's plan for the next coming week.

 

 

Only 2 weeks had gone since Amir left and Melissa started with her new romance.  Eric, who to her was the perfect mix of Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Leonardo was her new interest.  After 3 months, Eric had finally proposed to her, and Melissa happily agreed.

 

 

Back to Present Day

 

             Their two years of marriage, hadn't turned out to be the very best.  Melissa always wondered why Eric sometimes came late from work.  One day after having enough suspicion dwelling in her mind, she decided to follow him.  Eric's car stopped at a park reserve, and there Melissa saw another man approaching him.  Eric and that mysterious figure, walked away from the car and to the nearest building.  After there was enough distance, between Melissa and the two men, she quickly got out of her own car and walked towards the other side of the building.  She didn't go too close to them, but she was close enough to hear their conversation.  "The job's been done," said Eric to the figure in black, and Melissa was soon to realize that the figure in black was none other than Ricky, a wanted criminal.

 

 

             As she saw those two together, negative thoughts started to flow in her mind.  "Has the job been properly done?" asked Ricky with a stern voice.  Eric simply nodded.  "Did you clear the evidence, and remove the dead body?" asked Ricky.  And once again, Eric simply nodded.  After hearing about the dead body, Melissa went in to such a shock, that she didn't see Ricky pass her.  "I need an explanation," yelled Melissa, and Eric was too shocked to answer.  Melissa grabbed his collar and shook him with everything that she had left.  "Melissa, I can't say no to Ricky, you know he's a wanted criminal and you know how freely he uses his gun," said Eric desperately.  "It's not my fault, I was forced to do it, continued Eric.  "How long have you been doing this?" Melissa questioned, but after looking into Eric's eyes, she found all her answers, and walked away disgusted.  "He's not getting away with this" thought Melissa to herself as she quickly got back into her car.

 

 

Turning on her TV, she saw someone who looked quite familiar.  The figure who was dressed in black was fighting a case in court.  The man who was quick with his comments and blessed with talent was none other than Amir.  That's when Melissa got an idea.  After 2 hours of looking for his number, she finally found it and dialed long distance to Chicago.  It took her a whole day to convince Amir that his good friend Eric, is a second degree murderer.  She told him everything, even the fact that she had no clue Eric was doing all this behind her back.  She poured her heart out to him, and told him that she felt so betrayed when she found out, but Amir didn't comfort her, he just merely listened.  "Maybe he started all this when you left, because there wasn't anyone to look out for him" was the final thing Melissa said to him before Amir reluctantly agreed.  Amir obviously felt bad getting Eric in trouble with the law, but what Eric did was 10 times worse, and he should definitely get what he deserves thought Amir.

 

 

Going to NYC, filing a report, preparing for the case and meeting with Melissa took Amir a good whole month, before the trial day arrived.  Amir was a man with great talent and his words were so convincing, there was no doubt that he would win, and just as suspected he did win.  So Eric finally got what he deserved, a lifetime behind the bars.

 

 

After everything was wrapped up, Amir was ready to go back to Chicago.  Melissa insisted that she would drop him off at the airport.  After shaking her hand, Amir confidently said "I may not be a mix of Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Leonardo but I wouldn't have betrayed you."  Amir quickly picked up his luggage, looked at Melissa, and then quietly walked away.  When she saw him walk away all those high school memories flowed into her mind.  This was when she realized money and good looks aren't everything.  At that moment regret was the only thing she could feel, she deeply regretted what she said to Amir three years ago, but it was too late. 

 

This time it was her lesson to learn that what's on the inside counts way more than what's visible on the outside.  As Amir went out of sight, her eyes became watery.  After staring at the path where Amir had walked, she quickly and quietly turned around and left the airport, with so many things going on in her mind.
