'Taqdeer ne kahin likha na ho zindagi main koi toofan, pyar se hi beethe Humari Daastan'
Khushi immediately looked up towards Arnav, her vision blurred by the tears she was so desperately trying to keep within the confines of her eyes. Arnav was staring straight ahead at his Mami,'Mein agar is ghar mein aaonga toh Khushi ke saath. Aur vaise bhi, mere hote hua aap ne yeh kaise soch liya ki Khushi apne daiyan pair ke saath andaar nahi aa payegi?' Manorma pursed her lips and replied in a snarky tone,
'Beta, lagta hai ki videsh mein reh kar tum apne sanskaar bhool chuke ho. Apne barhon se aise baat karte hai kya?'
Arnav, refusing to back down retorted,
'Barhe hone ka ye matlab toh nahin ke koi kuch bhi bole. Agar barhe choton se ye umeed rahkte hain ke voh unki izaat karein toh phir barhon ko yeh bhi samaj na chahiye ke izaat haq se nahin, karmon se milti hai - chahe insaan barha ho ya chota.'
With this explanation, Arnav stepped inside the house with Khushi by his side. He lent support to Khushi by gripping her right arm in order to allow her to place her right foot inside the house along with him. Seeing the way in which her son handled the situation, Savita smiled - her face adorned with motherly pride.
As Manorma walked away in a huff towards the kitchen, Arnav took a moment to take in his surroundings.
'Theen saal,' he thought to himself, 'theen lambe saal. Lekin aakhir mein ghar aahi gaye.' A peaceful smile graced his lips as the feeling of being within his own home and amongst his loved ones washed over him - clearing away any tension Manorma's comments had brought.
Both Khushi and Savita looked at Arnav, both women blissful at seeing someone they both cherished so much looking so at peace and happy. Just as all three went to sit on the sofas in the large living area, a cough from a fourth person grabbed Arnav's attention.

Arnav turned around to see Kaka standing behind him.
'Ji Kaka boliye.' He asked.
'Voh Baba, aapke liye phone aaye hai.' replied Kaka.
'Kaka - pehle toh aap mujhe tum kahiye aap nahin. Aur doosra, kiska phone aya hai?' Arnav said.
'Voh toh pata nahin Baba, naam kuch samajh mein nahi aya.'
'Theek hai Kaka mein aata hoon. Ma - main abhi aya.'
Khushi and Savita both knowingly smiled at each other as Arnav followed Kaka into one of the study rooms where the phone had come. As he stepped into the room he saw something mysterious lying on the sofa. Perplexed, Arnav moved closer to the sofa and grew even more confused when he realised that there was in fact no phone call. As he moved closer, he saw a tiny baby wrapped up in a soft pink blanket. Arnav was taken aback when he heard a voice behind him,
'Apni bhaanji kaisi lagi Arnavji?'
Arnav turned around to see his older sister - Anjali standing before him. He immediately went up to her and engulfed her in a huge hug, which Anjali readily returned. Both Arnav and Anjali had grown up extremely close to each other and these three years apart had been extremely difficult on the siblings.
As the two pulled away from each other, Arnav looked at Anjali and asked,
'Saach mein Di - yeh meri bhaanji hai?'
Anjali laughed at the innocence in Arnav's childish face,
'Kothe - hum jhoot bol rahe hain kya?'
