Coincidentally Yours!

Part 10 - Ajab!

Getting ready, sparing last glance at his reflection in the mirror, he left the room. When Pratap was crossing the corridor, going down for the Pooja, he passed Ajabde's room. The door of the room was half open and he couldn't resist to peek for once...

Though his manners didn't allow him to peek into a girl's room as such, but it wasn't about any other girl, right? ;) There was something in her, that unknowingly affected him. Always. He always behaved around her, like he was not himself or more like himself. Always in the childhood and now after so many years, it was no different.

Before his mind order him to leave, automatically his feet turned to her room. A peacefully beautiful face stopped him, as he looked from the half open door.

She still looked so cute while asleep. He thought in mind and blinked two three times to move away, but frowned the next moment as a few strands of hair came over her face, disturbing eyes - his and her.

Lavender curtains flew slowly fanning him, as he moved swiftly to her bed. He noiselessly reached to her face and was about to settle those stubborn hair strands off, that blocked her cute face but before he could, wind did his work.

He stared at her peaceful self, before she shuffled covering herself to head with blanket. His frown reappeared but grinned as a mischievous thought got him excited.

After a few minutes, he stealthily rushed out of the room and waited outside the door patiently.

'Now'

He mouthed tapping his wristwatch as the time ticked. He closed both his ears as the whole corridor lest the room, blasted with the loudest alarm sound possible🤣

She sat with a jerk, eyes shocked open, her blanket snatched to her lap and her long hair came all over her face. He laughed covering his mouth with both hands, as she struggled to find the clock on which she never put any alarms.

She blinked recovering from the deafening sound but narrowed eyes spotting a laughing shadow, just outside her room.

Oh! Who else can be this?

"Kunwar Pratap?" She demanded.

Why would she call him the way she calls when something's not going to be right! He wondered opening the door.

"Kya hua Ajab?"

He coughed swallowing his laughter and entered all innocent, as she furrowed more on the name.

Doesn't that sound 'Ajeeb...'?

She flared her nose. Never mind.

"Itni raat ko aap yaha Kya kar rahe hai?" She asked narrowing eyes.

"Raat? Arre din ho gaya aur..." He started the drama.

"Mere room ke bahar... Kya kar rahe hai?" She cut him standing up.

"Main?" He looked here and there "Haan... Main woh aapki itni zordaar chikh sun ke ruk gaya... Ke Kya hua..."

He tried to sound natural but failed miserably. His cute face, goofy smile and above all, his efforts to show all innocent and unaware, made her anger slip away.

'He still didn't know how to lie...'

She rolled eyes, face palming in her mind as her temper turned to much of an amusement.

"You haven't changed, have you?" She asked shaking head, a small smile curving up.

"No" He shrugged chuckling "But you've grown beautiful!" He added casually, raising his palm for high five but stopped smiling, as he realised his words.

(To be continued...)
