Hey GHUMians, 

It's been long that I haven't updated this story and you all were requesting me to continue.
Here I am with a short chapter before I fly to Prague.  
For those who have forgotten how the last chapter had ended, can of course read the previous chapter to remember where the story was left.  

Let me know how it was. Hopefully no aanda will be thrown at me.

It was very late. Most of the Chavans were already asleep and the rest were ready to go to bed. Samrat and Sai were waiting for Virat and Pakhi in the living room. They showed up around two o’clock and as soon as they entered the house, Samrat and Sai were ready to explode on them.

« How was the party ? Could you plan the future as per your wish ? », Samrat taunted them.
« Party? I was on a mission. How can you tag my job as a party, Jeeva ? », Virat replied knowing the tendency of his brother to overreact.
« Every time I want to forget our past, you go back deeper into it and you drag all of us with you. », Samrat said.
« I had a tough day. We will talk about it tomorrow. », Virat wanted to cut it short.

The only good thing about the day was his mission being a successful one. They finally caught the guy. Other than that he was frustrated that his plans with his wife got canceled. For once that he had a chance to prove her how much he was in love with her, it got wasted. He just hoped that she found the gift and the confession letter. He looked at his wife. « Was she waiting for him after finding out about his feelings? », he asked himself. Lost in his thoughts he didn’t see his brother approaching him but came back to senses as soon as he got hit by a slap.

« What the hell is wrong with you ? », Virat shoved him away.
« Ghalati tu karta hai aur mujhe puchta hai mein kya kar raha hoon ? », Samrat asked.

Virat had had enough and punched him back. Sai finally intervened and separated both of them. The fight alerted everyone and they rushed downstairs.

« What's going on here in the middle of the night ? », Bhavani shouted.
« Why are you behaving like this, Samrat ? Virat just picked me up from the party. Nothing else happened. », Pakhi defended herself with a fake innocence.
« Oh shut up. I know very well what's going on between you two. », Samrat yelled.
« Bas Samrat. Kya bakwaas le kar behta hai tu ? Patralekha toh party mein thi. », Bhavani informed him.
« Nahin yeh dono party ke naam par future plan karne gaaye the. », Samrat replied.
« Stop your nonsense Samrat. Ab bohut zyada ho raha hai. », Virat said. 
« What nonsense are you telling us ? », Bhavani asked. 
« Today the truth has to come out because we can't continue like this. Why do you think I left the next day of my wedding and went missing in action ? Why there is so much tension between me and Virat ? », Samrat questioned Bhavani.
« How would we know ? You both are probably two morons », Bhavani replied irritated. 
« It's because the night of our wedding I got to know that Pakhi and Virat loved each other. I didn't know what to do and I ran away. Luckily or unluckily I went missing and when I was found back I wanted to reunite them. But then what did I get to know ? Virat was also married to someone else and Pakhi wanted to give our relationship a chance. Liars. Both are liars. They never moved on and were waiting to get a chance to be together again. », Samrat explained. 

Everyone was shocked. Sai couldn't understand why. Wasn't it obvious ? Could no one of the Chavans guess by Pakhi and Virat's behavior that they had a past together ? 

« Is that true ? », Bhavani asked to Virat.
« Stop blaming us for everything, Samrat. », Pakhi interrupted so that Virat doesn't get the chance to tell his version of the truth. « Why don't you tell everyone that the main reason why you want us to get divorced is Luna ? », she continued. 
« Don't drag her into this ? », Samrat warned Pakhi.
« Really ? Won't you tell your family that you too had a past with Luna ? Do you really think that I didn't know you were having an extra marital affair behind my back ? », Pakhi asked.
« What nonsense is this now ? », Samrat's mother asked. 

Pakhi showed a few pictures of Samrat and Luna into each other's arms taken by one of her acquaintances. Bhavani and Manasi sat down to process two back to back shocking news. 

« Stop your nonsense Pakhi didi. Everyone knows here that they are just best friends. Don't tarnish their relationship to hide your own wrongdoings. », Sai defended her brother. 
« Tell him to stop playing the victim card. He can have an affair with his best friend but I am to be blamed for having a past. This is unfair. », Pakhi replied. « Do you have the guts to accept your love ? », she questioned Samrat.
« YES ! YES I LOVE MOON. I always have. », Samrat confessed. 

Sai was taken aback. She felt betrayed. Virat wanted to clear the things once for all that Sai was the only love of his life but got interrupted by a call from the police station. He excused himself and rushed outside. His duty had ruined the entire day for him. He couldn't confess his love to his wife nor clear the things in front of the family. Now that the truth was before everyone, he was decided to tell the entire story to everyone. He met Pakhi and before even they could start a story together she got married to his brother. Now he was in love with Sai and Pakhi was just a small part of his past. 

« Running away that's what he always does. », Samrat said. 
« And who is saying this ? The one who left his wife the next day of their marriage ? », Pakhi retorted.
« It did suit you, didn't it ? », he taunted. 
« Dear husband, you should make yourself little when your own house is made of glass. », she mocked him. 

Samrat noticed Sai, her eyes filled with disappointment. He wanted to walk towards her but she turned around and ran to her room. Pakhi also went to her room and Samrat to the balcony to call Luna. It was pretty late but he needed to talk to her. The elders were in shock. All the four left without giving any answer. 

Sai let herself fall down on the floor. Every time she wanted to believe that Virat had started to fall in love with her he would bring her out of her dream land to remind her that he was with her only by kindness. If both Virat and Pakhi wanted to sacrifice their years of togetherness for her, she didn't want to be selfish and delay their happiness. It was time for her to free Virat from his responsibility and the promise made to her Abba. 

In their room, Karishma and Mohit were discussing about the brothers and their spouses. 

« I think there is a huge misunderstanding. Virat dada really loves Sai bhabhi. We have to do something for them. », Karishma said. 
« Yes, it's our turn to support them and help them. We will talk to them tomorrow. », Mohit replied.
« Luna di and Samrat dada ? I knew it that they had a past. Why is he doing the same what Patralekha bhabhi did to him ? », Karishma continued.
« I am not taking anyone's side but both of them have the same story. They loved someone but got married to someone else. The difference is that Patralekha vahini couldn't forget Virat dada and got obsessed with him while Samrat dada was ready to give a chance to his wife forgetting his past. », Mohit said. 
« He could clearly not forget his past. He couldn't even wait till the divorce. », Karishma said disappointed.
« Let's not judge him, please. », Mohit requested.

Karishma rolled her eyes. She was disappointed by Samrat's hypocrisy. He definitely deserved all the happiness but not by doing the same thing for which he blamed his brother and wife. She didn't like Pakhi much but that didn't mean she will not accept Samrat's mistake. 

Virat returned home early in the morning. He thought he would found his wife asleep or in the middle of her books but all he found was an empty cupboard and all the presents he had gifted her on the bed. He found her mangalsutra on the dressing table with a note that said that she is freeing him of all the responsilities and promises so that he could move on with Pakhi.
