Waqt ne kiya kya hasin sitam, hum rahe na hum…tum rahe na tum!!!

Part 5:

 

Kripa handed over the file to Angad for review and turned around to leave his cabin. She was about to open the door and go away when she heard Angad calling out her name. She turned and saw him putting the file down and raising his eyes to her.

"Don't fidget Kripa, nothing professional. I was just wondering if you have started searching for a new home for yourself." He said in obvious tone.

"And what makes you think I am looking for a new home." Kripa demanded.

"Don't pretend Kripa. You know what I am talking about." He said throwing the previous day's news paper edition in front of her.

Kripa didn't require to see the paper to know what he was talking about since she was aware of the problem herself. She herself has gone with Prithvi to the court to file a case against the authorities. The land around there home was almost industrialized and in view of further development and expansion, the industrial organization has offered to take over there land as well. It was critical for them since the land they occupied wasn't enough. A decent amount was offered to Mrs. Bose for the land which she turned down and Prithvi filed a case to retain the land. In spite of case being weak, they have decided to fight till the end and Kripa has herself vowed to stand by them and fight till her last for her home.

"We are not giving up Angad. We have decided to fight for it till our last." Kripa said proudly.

"Yeah…literally till your last. It's pretty impossible for you to win it in any case. It involves government interest after all. Besides that property is not worth putting up any fight." He said mockingly.

"No body is asking for your advice." Kripa replied.

"As if I am dieing to help! I was just asking because it doesn't feel good to see you wife and her things being thrown out on streets." Angad said resuming his work.

Kripa sighed and came out.

 

Kripa continued playing with her food as Rajeev and Aamna busied themselves with random conversation and occasional couple cooing. They were sitting in a restaurant near by office during lunch hour, relaxing and eating. She glanced at the watch to see that it was almost time and she has not even started eating.

 She was brought out of her thoughts by someone occupying the empty seat beside. She looked up to see Angad pulling his chair closer to hers while greeting Rajeev and Aamna. Then seeking the opportunity, Angad brought his mouth close to her ear and whispered "Kripa remember you said yesterday that you are producing a play. Well I have a proposal for you.  Actually I have been looking out to do something different for sometime now, to break away with boredom and monotony of designing buildings and houses. So I thought how about I design and plan the set for your play. Don't worry its strictly professional, me as your employee and you as employer, for a change."

Kripa did a quick revision of her expenses and management. Indeed, if Angad designed the set it was bound to be good. Plus may be he will give her some concession. And her tight budget could no way ensure a better employee than Angad.

She accepted his proposal and asked him to come to the rehearsals at 8 p.m. later that day.

 

Kripa took the passenger seat beside Prithvi and they left for the rehearsal hall. Kripa debated to herself whether to tell Prithvi or not that Angad was joining there troop from today. It was certainly not going to make him happy. The car halted and they entered the hall together. Angad hasn't arrived yet. Good thing. Prithvi helped her remove her long coat and put it on the hanger. That is when Angad entered and then his usual smirk. Prithvi stood bewildered and Kripa rapidly took the opportunity of getting Angad introduced with the troop as the official set designer. Every body except Prithvi greeted him warmly. And young Simi, who was also playing the female lead, with some extra warmth. This is what we call crush at first site.

Jerry, the director of her play, stroked his chi and asked inquiringly eyeing kripa "Hmmm… Angad khanna…any relation with Kripa khanna, our sweet producer."

Before Angad could respond Kripa took the opportunity and said hastily "No…no relation. Coincidence I guess."

Angad grinned at Kripa as he furthered his introduction as her colleague in office and a very recent friend as he has just been transferred here.
