Naina and Ritu were sitting on a bench outside the house. There was a complete silence between them. Finally Ritu broke her silence.

Ritu- I know that I have no right to talk to you but I just want to say that I know everything.

Naina looked at her with question on her face.

Ritu- I know that Khushi is your and Raj's daughter.

Naina(angrily)- So you came here to blackmail me or to snatch my daughter from me? Is it?

Ritu- Please Naina, just listen to me once.

Naina didn't want to hear anything but she decided to calm down.

Naina- Bolo ab kya kehna chahti ho. Kaise ab tum meri zindagi barbaad karogi?

Ritu(with guilt)- I have snatched your brother and your love from you but today I realized that how wrong I was. I just want to give back what I have taken from you. Main Naveen ko to wapis nahi la sakti lekin itna jaroor janti hoon ki Raj sirf tumhara hai. He had never loved me and in last five years, he had never touched me. We never had any relation. I was his forced responsibility and that's all.

Naina(sarcastically)- And what changed you after all these years?

Ritu- I am dying and I don't have much time left. I have last stage blood cancer. If you don't believe me then read these reports and if you don't believe these reports, then you can call Gunny to confirm it. He knows the truth about my sickness.

She handed her the file and Naina took it with shock.

Ritu- Janti ho Naina, zindagi main mujhe bhi kabhi sachcha pyar mila tha lekin main use sambhal nahi payee  or na hi samjagh payee. Shayad us waqt maine sahi faisla kiya hota to aaj main itne sare logo ki gunhegaar nahi hoti. Main apne har kiye ki tumse maafi mangti hoon. Janti hoon ki tum mujhe kabhi maaf nahi kar paaogi lekin phir bhi aaj maine tum se jo kuch bhi kaha sach kaha hai.

Ritu was about to leave when Naina spoke.

Naina- Naveen bhaiya tum se sab se jyada pyar karte the…

Ritu- Nahi wo tum se jyada pyar karta tha… Uski har baat tum se shuru ho kar tum par hi khatam hoti thi. He was very proud of you Naina.  Raj bhi sab se jyada pyar tum se karta hai. Main tum dono se to apne kiye ki maafi mang chuki hoon or upar ja kar Naveen se bhi maafi mang loongi.

Naina- I am sorry about your condition.

Ritu- I am not but I want to do one thing before I go. Can you help me for that?

Naina- What do you want to do?

Ritu- Main Khushi ko uske papa se or Raj ko uske khoye hue parivaar se milana chahti hoon aur ye kaam sirf tum hi kar sakti ho… Main aaj shaam ko intezaar karoongi.

Saying that she left Naina alone to think about what she had to do.

After she left, Naina was sitting alone when Ali came there.

Ali- Ma'am?

Naina- Ali tum? Kaho kya baat hai.

Ali- Main aap se sirf itna kehna chahta hoon ki Khushi ki zindagi apne papa ke bina adhoori hai. Usne aaj tak bhagwan se kabhi bhi kuch bhi maanga hai to wo uske papa hai aur aaj hum sab sachchai jante hai to kya aap sab kuch bhula kar sab theek kar dijiye please?

Aalekh and Huda were also standing there requesting Naina to do the right thing. Naina had tears of joy in her eyes when she saw three of her former students standing in front of her asking for her daughter's happiness.

Naina nodded and left from there.

Ali, Aalekh and Huda were happy and they called Ritu that Naina has agreed to go with them. Ritu was happy too.

Raj was anxious as the next day was Khushi's birthday and he still didn't talk to Naina and none of his friends were saying anything to him. He was with Khushi in his room and he was just walking around and Khushi was amused to see him in such tension.

Khushi(yelled)- Friend?

Raj looked at her immediately wondering what happened to her.

Raj- Kya hua beta aap theek to ho na? Aap ko kuch chahiye kya?

Khushi- Nahi but aap yahan se wahan room main kyon ghoom rahe ho?

Raj- Wo hum kuch soch rahe the?

Khushi- Kya?

Raj- Yahi ki aap ko kya birthday present chahiye?

Khushi(excited)- Don't worry aap ne promise kiya hai na ki hamare papa aayenge aur unko pata hai ki hamare liye kya present lana hai.

Raj- Acha kya lana hai?

Khushi- wo hum aap ko nahi batayenge. Wo hum ne bhagwan ji ko bata diya hai aur wo hamare papa ko bata denge. Kyonki hum us present se hi to unko pehchaan payenge na…

Raj was in thoughts when Khushi asked him- Friend hum chalte hai. Aaj hum Vidya masi ke saath sone ja rahe hai.

Raj- Haan beta good night. He kissed her forehead and she kissed him on his cheek and left.

After she left, Raj was confused as he didn't know that what Khushi wanted for her birthday present from her papa. He decided to ask Gunny.

Raj saw Gunny in the living room with Abhi who just came to give him latest news about their plan. As soon as they saw Raj coming in the room they stopped talking.

Raj- Mere aate hi chup kya baat hai?

Abhi- Kuch nahi yaar… tu bata tu kaisa hai?

Raj- I am confused…

Gunny- About what?

Raj told her what Khushi had told him earlier.

Raj- Ab tu bata usko kya present chahiye hoga? Mujhe to nahi pata…

Gunny- I think I know…

Raj- Then tell me…

Gunny- Usko bada "Tweety Bird" soft toy chahiye hoga. She likes that Disney character so much.

Raj- Main chalta hoon…

Abhi- Kahan?

Raj- Gift lane…

Gunny- It's 10:00 at night. You can go tomorrow morning.

Raj- No, what if I don't find it tomorrow.

He left from there.

Gunny- Ye kal bhi to la sakta tha?

Abhi- Tujhe ye baat kuch mahino ke baad samaj main aayegi jab tera beta ya beti is duniya main honge. I spent the whole night to find Karan's favorite video game  on his last birthday because he wanted that so much.

Around 1:00 pm, Raj came back with the birthday gift and he saw Ritu in the living room waiting for him.

Raj- Ritu, tum kab aayee?

Ritu- Thodi dair pehle… I just want to be here for Khushi's birthday party tomorrow. She is such a sweet kid.

Raj – I am sorry for not telling you about her when I found out but……..

Ritu- I understand. I am sorry for causing all the trouble but tomorrow no guilt and no sorrow… Just party… what say?

Raj- I say yes. By the way, how was your trip?

Ritu- Better than expected.

Raj- So did you find out about the treatment? When I am going to meet this doctor?

Ritu- Very soon… I will tell everything later. I am tired.

Raj- Ok you go and sleep. I will see you tomorrow.

Ritu left for her room and Raj was feeling happy and anxious to meet Naina as he had so many questions to ask her.

On the other hand at Abhi's house:

Naina was in Abhi's house but she was so anxious to meet Raj. She just wanted to talk to him about everything. She knew that he would be angry at her for not telling the truth but she knew that he would understand.

Naina(to herself)- Kal pehli baar poore paanch saal ke baad main apni beti ko wo tohfa doongi jiska usko hamesha se intezaar hai.

She fell asleep later at night so she could wake up early in the morning.

Naina woke up at 6:00 am in the morning and she was very excited today. She had already known where Raj lived and she had already Nandini's car keys that she asked from her previous night. She got ready and drove to Raj's house.  On the other hand, Raj was also awake as he wanted to be first person to wish 'Happy Birthday' to Khushi.  It was 7:30 and Raj was getting ready in his room. The doorbell rung and Ritu knew who that could be so she answered the door.

Ritu- Khushi's room is second left upstairs…

Naina- Thanks…

She rushed upstairs and she didn't see Raj who was just coming out of his room and she collided and about to fall but he caught her in between.  They both were looking at each other and Raj realized the situation so he helped her up. Both of them stood there not saying anything. They both were feeling awkward when Gunny came out of the room and he looked at their situation so he came there.

Gunny- Why are you both standing here? Let's go and wish our princess, "Happy Birthday."

Both of them nodded and went where Khushi was. She had just woken up and Vidya and Shikha came there with a big cake.

Naina- Happy birthday my angel…

Khushi excitedly hugged her and said- Mama, aap aa gayee..

Naina- Yes dear, aap ke birthday pe to mama ko aana hi tha.

Khushi then turned to others and she saw Raj first and smiled at him. Raj came closer and wished her happy birthday.

Khushi- Thank you… Friend aap ko aap ka promise yaad hai na?

Raj(smiled)- Of course and I will never forget…

He looked at Naina while saying this but Naina didn't look at him.

After that Gunny, Vidya and Shikha wished her Happy Birthday. Ritu also came there to wish her. Khushi was really happy as her mom was here and she knew that Raj was going to bring her papa in the party because he promised.

Shikha took Khushi to get ready even after Naina insisted that she will do that.

Ritu came where Raj and Naina were standing. They both looked at her.

Ritu- There might be a lot you two want to talk about. Why don't you two go out and talk? We will take care of everything here.

Gunny- Haan aur baki sab aate hi honge… so we will handle everything. Just be back by the evening.

Naina- But Khushi?

Vidya- We will take care go…

Nodding their heads, both Raj and Naina left the house. There was a complete silence between them in the car. After around an hour, Raj was driving out of the city. He pulled up his car near a farm house and came out of the car. Naina also followed. Raj stopped at the bench in the middle of the garden and turned to look at her. Naina looked at him and tears came out of her eyes.

Naina- Raj, I am…

But before she could say anything, Raj pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight.

After a long time, Raj let her go and they both were sitting on the bench with facing each other and they held their hands.

Naina- Raj, I am so sorry that I didn't tell you but…..

Raj- shhhh… It is not your fault. I was the one who left. I was never there for you or our daughter.

Naina- Nahi Raj, us me tumhari koi galati nahi hai. You didn't know anything.

Raj- But I was never there for my daughter. I feel suffocated and horrible when she talked to me how she wanted her father at her preschool, at her dance, on her birthdays. I was never there.

Naina- And it was because our destiny but now you are here and I know that you are not going anywhere.

Raj- I want to let her know that I love her so much and I want you to know that I love you so much…

Naina- We will let her know that you are her father.

Raj- I am afraid if she is going to accept me or not?

Naina- She will be… she loves her papa so much and she loves her new best friend so much so if those two people are the same person, she will be more happier… trust me…

Raj- let's go and tell her…

Naina- At the party…

Raj- You are too cruel.

Naina laughed at his comment and hugged him. He hugged her with happiness as he didn't feel the same feeling in last six years.

Raj – Naina, today I want to know everything about my daughter.

Naina- I don't understand…

Raj- Wo sare important moments jo uski aur tumhari zindagi main aaye aur jis ka main hissa na ban saka…. I want to hear from you.

Naina- Ok.

Naina had started telling every single story she can remember about Khushi, her habits, her likes and dislikes, her hobbies, her pranks.

Raj enjoyed each moment. Around lunch time, Raj had ordered Naina's favorite lunch to the farm house and they both enjoyed the lunch. After the lunch, they both headed back to the house to get ready for the party. Naina went to Khushi as she was waiting for her. She spent the rest of the time with her. She got her ready for the party and everyone was looking forward to party.
