Chapter 24
Angad and Kripa woke up nearly the same time the next morning. Kripa took a shower and then Angad did. While Angad was showering, Kripa got Aryan ready for the first day of school.
Ary- I don't want to go to school
Kripa smiled.
K- Well it won't be that bad, I mean you'll be able to meet all your friends again
Ary- Yeah, I guess
K- Well I think your looking very handsome, I bet all the chicks are going to die over you.
Ary- Yuck mom, girls have cuties
K- Well lets see when you say that when your older, before long your going to come to me and say "mom I found you a bahu"
Ary- Keep dreaming mom
Angad came to the living room and he watched Kripa put on a light coat on Aryan.
A- Do you have lunch money?
Ary- Yeah mom gave it to me
K- Okay go now, otherwise you'll be late on your first day
Ary- Bye
Kripa kissed him and Angad picked up the keys to drop him off.
Ary- Oh yeah, mom dad, I forgot to tell you both something
K- What
Ary- Thanks
Angad and Kripa were puzzled and looked at each other confused.
A- For what?
Ary- For giving me the best summer of my life, the summer of 2006, where my parents got reunited, where I got my family back, where I found out I'm going to get a sibling.
Kripa and Angad smiled back at Aryan.
A- Well on us getting back together, you get all the credit for that.
Ary- I know,.....don't ever leave each other again, it was hard getting you guys back together
K- Don't worry, we won't, but you better go now
Ary- Okay bye, love you
It had been a couple of hours since Aryan and Angad left, Angad still didn't come back, Kripa was worried. She tried calling him but his phone was shut off. The doorbell rang, she was sure it was Angad so she opened it.
K- You! You still have the guts to come here!
Prithvi- Chill, I'm only here to get my stuff
K- Fine wait here
Kripa turned around to get his stuff for him but stopped when Prithvi called her name.
P- Kripa
K- What?
P- Actually just leave my stuff here, I mean this house is going to be mine soon anyways, so I'll just leave it here.
K- Your disgusting Prithvi! I can't believe I ever thought of you as my friend!
Kripa noticed Prithvi's face turn into a soft sad one. He smiled but he had tears in his eyes. Kripa knew these tears were real.
P- We grew up together Kripa, I had the best times of my life with you, but you...you ruined everything
K- Because I fell in love with someone? Because I got married?
P- Look.....I tried....I tried being happy for you, I tried sacrificing my love, but then I saw that I didn't get anything from it....nothing.
K- You got Priya's love, for God's Sake she was pregnant with your child!
P- But I didn't love her, I loved you!
K- That's the problem Prithvi, you realized your love for me, but not her love for you. You could have had so much....but you ruined it all. And what do you have today? Nothing.
P- Kripa.....if Angad never came into your life, if Priya never came into mine, then do you think...we could have been together?
K- Why think about something that doesn't have any meaning today?
Prithvi's face turned into a strict revengeful face again when he saw Angad come in.
A- What are you doing in my house?
P- Mr. Khanna, may I remind you that this house will soon be mine.
A- No it won't Prithvi
P- Oh really? If you really love Kripa, then you'll sell the house, you'll help her pay me.
A- All I know is I'm not giving anything of mine to you
P- Your not giving it to me Mr. Khanna, your giving it to Kripa who will give it to me.
Prithvi smiled evilly.
A- Let me repeat myself Prithvi-Nothing of mine will end up with a man like you.
P- See Kripa, he doesn't love you. If you loved Kripa you would do anything to get her out of trouble!
A- Don't tell me if I love my wife or not!
P- Remember Kripa, the first day he came on college campus and he asked you out, you never gave him a response because you wanted to ask me if you should go out with him or not, I wished I said no, if I did then you would never fell in love with this jerk!
K- Prithvi, you've gone crazy! Your love has became nothing but an obsession for you!
P- Say whatever you want Kripa, but today this man proved he doesn't love you, he's not even willing to help you pay back the 87 million---
A- u want to know why?
P- Because your selfish duh!
A- No, because you lost Prithvi, you've lost
P- What are you talking about?
A- This is America Prithvi, theres something here called "bankruptcy"
P-------------
A- After you take everything you can from Kripa, she'll file bankruptcy, meaning you can't get anything else out of her besides 6 million dollars.
P- What?
A- Yes, because Aryan Enterprise isn't under Kripa's name, it's under mine, Angad Khanna's name, Kripa only had the power of authority, she didn't own it.
Kripa realized what Angad said was true. After Angad and Kripa got married, Angad's basketball season had ended, he had nothing better to do so he opened a small business. Angad learned business wasn't his thing, so he handed the small business over to Kripa, who made it a multinational millionaire company.
P- This isn't possible, it just can't be-------
A- that's not all Prithvi, you don't get Kripa's house in India, because even that is under her father's name, Kripa never put her millions in her own bank account, she put it in Aryan's. So actually theres even no need to file bankruptcy, because all she has to give you is a mere 6 million, but since we pity you we'll make that 7 million.
Prithvi's face sprung with anger. He had never been so humiliated in his life.
P- Angad, I bet your really happy right now, aren't you? You probably think you defeated me, but your wrong, I'll destroy you Angad Khanna because you ruined me. You took the only precious thing I cared about away from me: Kripa.
A- Get a life Prithvi
Prithvi turned around to leave.
A- By the way you have to show up at the Vijay Gujral's office to sign a few papers in half an hour, see you there
Prithvi angrily left.
K- Angad, how did you---
A- Shhh, I told you, I won't anything go wrong,, remember
K- Your amazing!
Kripa hugged Angad.
K- I love you
A- Not as much as I love you
K- It's not a competition Angad!
A- I know, I know, I love you
K- Not as much as I love you
A- Gosh, your just like your husband!
Kripa and Angad laughed.
A- Come on lets go to the lawyer's office.
At the lawyer's office:
K- You think he'll come?
A- I don't know, but I hope he does
Before Angad could talk any further Prithvi came in.
Vijay(lawyer)- Welcome, we just needed a few signatures from you, just some formalities handing the company back to the original owners
Prithvi took the only empty seat left, which was next to Kripa.
P- Where do I sign?
Vijay- Umm right here and...here
Prithvi picked up the pen and was about to sign.
K- Wait Prithvi
Angad and Prithvi were both confused.
K- I grew up with you, I know you weren't always like this. You had a good side to you...you still do, its just lost somewhere deep inside you.
A-thinking- Deep deep deep deep inside him
Kripa continued.
K- When I needed you were always there for me, I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me. You broke up me and Angad for 7 years, but when you got us back together you brought us closer then we ever were. I know somewhere, I'm responsible for your condition, for your revenge. But Prithvi, I don't want you wasting your whole life trying to ruin me or Angad, I want you to start over. Try to fall in love again, I'm sure this time you'll get your love. You could start a family....maybe one day you'll look back and laugh that you ever loved me. And Prithvi, I want you to keep Aryan Enterprise and one day when you have a kid, rename it after his or her name.
P- Kripa---
Kripa smiled.
K- A person can only do business for so long, I'm tired of it, I want to spend more time doing other stuff, like spending time with my family. Plus this way I'll get to try different job areas and And besides, we're expecting a new person in our family soon, so I think I should relax more.----
P- No Kripa, I don't want Aryan Enterprise anymore--
A- And you would never get it, Kripa are you crazy? Do you know what your doing? I know your pregnant and have mood swings and stuff but---
K- Shut up Angad, I know what I'm saying. Prithvi your the best person to handle this business, please do it.
P- You really want me to do it?
K- Yes, besides I learned all my business strategies from you, so your the best person for the job.
P- Are you sure your sure?
Kripa laughed.
K- Yes I'm sure I'm sure, it's yours now
P- Thanks and I'm sorry, today I've realized everything I was doing was wrong, I'm really sorry. Your right Kripa, I should move on. And Angad, I'm sorry, Kripa wasn't ever written for me, she was always yours, sorry it took me so long to figure it out.
A- No hard feelings
Angad and Kripa turned to leave
P- Wait
They turned around to face Prithvi once more.
P- Congratulations on your pregnancy, I'm sure this child will bring lots of happiness into your lives.
K- Thank you
Angad and Kripa left and went home. They both fell on the coach. Angad's head rested in Kripa's lap.
A- So your sick of business
K- Well, not sick of it but I think its time to move on and try different stuff
A- Okay but no trying stuff for another two years, you should take care of the new kid first
K- Yeah
Angad kissed Kripa's stomach.
A- Baby, come into this world fast, we're all waiting for you.
Kripa smiled.
He put his arms around Kripa's waist hugging her.
K- Angad, I know I must be one of the luckiest woman in this world because I have you. To add on to my luckiness God gave me Aryan. And now this child. I have the world's happiness, I can't ask for anything more.
Angad smiled.
A- Me neither. Kripa I----
K- I know, I know, you love me
A- Well actually I was going to say I have to go pick up Aryan
Angad started laughing at Kripa's facial expression.
K- Shut up Angad
A- Hey sorry, sorry I was joking
K- Yeah yeah, you better go pick up my son now, I don't want him have to wait on the driver
A- Driver? I'm your driver?
K- No....but that's what I tell all my friends
A- Oh really?
K- Yeah
A- Well you know who I tell my friends you are?
K- Do I want to know?
A- Of coarse
K- Then tell me
A- The most beautiful woman in the world
K- Angad, your so sweet!
A- You didn't let me finish
K- huh
A- The most beautiful woman in the whole world after all the others
K- uhgg Angad I hate you!
A- Kripa, sweetheart I was joking, now give me a smile
K- Whatever
A- Please, I won't leave until you give me a smile
K- No
A- Fine then your son will be waiting for me longer
Kripa stuck her tongue out at Angad and gave him a fake smile
A- Good enough, bye sweetheart
Angad left and afterwards Kripa smiled. She did indeed get a man one in a million.
