Chapter 1

I walked into the house, surrounded by all dressed in white, confused I wonder here and there. And for heaven's sake where was kripa, it had been 24 hours since I last saw her. I wonder if she is okay and most importantly where she was, she will certainly kill me one day. I thought to myself, completely oblivious to my surroundings, then it hit me, like a boulder, all life had been sucked out of me, their before me stood……no lay my beloved draped in white, where her family mourned weeping among themselves, their pain obviously showing all emotions.

Time stopped as my life came to a still seeing my beloved dead, how could she just leave, she had promised to be by my side but she left me before we could ever confess, why? What had I deserved for such a heartbreak, and pain? I feel my feet robotically move towards her, as I kneel down and touch her face, still as soft as though she were sleeping. Yes, she was sleeping, she was not dead; she was alive and breathing, I say hoping and praying to hold back my tears and see her before me smiling and laughing, but no she was long gone and dead.

I feel a soft hand slide on to my shoulder, however I refuse to acknowledge the comfort being provided to me until I hear my name, "Ang-ad! It's time, time to let her go, she is gone, and now its destiny's play from here on out, the Pastor is calling for her, its time to cremate her." Angad shook his head negatively. "Please Angad, don't….make this harder ….than it already is! Please child, don't I already lost my daughter, I can't afford to see you in such condition, please child!" Angad turned slightly nodding with his eyes.

He had to let her go, it was time for them to be separated, but he couldn't come up with courage to say goodbye exactly how she had missed the chance; just as a young man in a white kurta-pajama and six others came near her, Angad broke down deeply. Crying hard, letting his tears run wild, as he frantically tried bringing her back to life, but she refused to awake to his voice and pleads.

"Krip-ppah! Please come back, don't leave me like this, you promised to be their with me forever! Don't!" the young man knelt down.

"It's time to let her go Angad she is no more!" he said apologetically.

"no, kripa is alive, you are lying, wait, she will wake up, don't touch her!" I frantically touch kripa's face passionately begging her to wake up, when she refused to do so I screamed and yelled. "Kripa wake up, don't leave me!"

"Angad, it's time, she has to leave, those who leave once NEVER come back!"

"Prithivi! She is fine, don't come near her!" I scream angrily but only to find myself being held back by a group of men, pulling me away from kripa, and with that I felt all life leave me as she was carried away.

I stood before the fire, as kripa was being laid above the branches, she had decided on leaving me and that was her choice. But why, what had i done to ever deserve such heartful pain from hoping to express my feelings to her. I continue watching as Amit uncle grabbed the agni and with a grief stricken face let her go in the fire.

I whisper silently, "bye kripa, i love you and soon i shall be with you as i had promised years ago, to always be by your side until the end..."

Btw guys, anyone have a better name for this ff, I don't like the ff name, something unique, please do help…..and thanx for all the comments everyone, I hope I don't have any of you confused….
