     Finally, the day of the surprise arrived. It was Angad's birthday and he was bringing dadi home with him. He had persuaded her to move to Chicago. After a long drive, around 6 pm, they arrived at the Khanna Mansion. Angad looked around to see the place quiet. He decided to call up his friends and go party some place tonight once he went in. Everyone was probably busy today so he would celebrate with friends. He helped dadi with her luggage and headed towards the front door.

     Inside the Khanna Mansion there was chaos. Everyone was busy decorating and running all over. Alliya was directing people to move things around. Someone shouted, "They are here!" A little while later, someone closed the lights. The door opened, and everyone surprised Angad. The lights opened, and they all shouted "Happy Birthday!". Just like Prithvi, Angad was shocked!!!! He grinned as Aaliya came from the crowd and gave him a hug. "Happy Birthday bro!"

"Thanx sis" he replied.

     Karthik also joined them later, along with Naina and Dilip Khanna. He thanked everyone, and was given loads of presents. After seeing Ananya, Aryan, and meeting Kripa's parents he looked around for Kripa. He was disappointed when he did not find her in the crowd. Karthik noticed that Angad was anxiously looking for someone. He went and nudged Aaliya. "Aali, why is Angad so sad, who is he looking for?" Aaliya looked at Angad standing with the Sharma family and looking around. She knew exactly what was wrong. "I know what it is bhai!' She whispered something in his ear and he nodded his head. She went up to Angad and tapped him on his shoulder. He turned around and looked at her, "Time to cut the cake, come on!"

     He slowly nodded his head and followed her. The cake was huge and said "Happy Birthday Angad" on it. (of course) He looked up at the door one last time before cutting the cake. Ananya noticed this. She took out her cell phone and text messaged someone.

     Aaliya after looking at Angad's upset face whispered in his year, "Cheer up bhai, it's your birthday!" He whispered back "What do you mean cheer up, I am really happy" He gave a fake smile. "You are looking for her, aren't you?" Aaliya asked.

     Angad acted innocent, "Who would I be looking for, when everyone is here."
Aaliya- "Well, the most important person isn't here yet"
Angad- "I am"
Aaliya "you are here, but at the same time you aren't, though I didn't mean it that way, the most important person for you isn't. Don't worry bro, she will come, enjoy the party"

Saying that, she left and suddenly all the lights went off. About 10 seconds later, a spotlight went over Aaliya who was standing in the middle of the floor with a mike.

"Ladies and gentleman, I would like to congratulate my brother on his 18th birthday!"
Everyone cheered. "Today I have a request! I want Angad to come up here and sing for us" The spotlight went over a shocked Angad. He sputtered, "me??..sing?? i can't!"

     Everyone cheered for him and told him to sing Defeated, he went up to where Aaliya was standing and took the microphone from her. "What do you wanna hear?" he asked the crowd. Aaliya whispered something in his year and his head jerked up. No! He mouthed. "Come on bhai, please??" She made a puppy face. He gave up as Aaliya signaled the band that had been playing. The music began and Angad sang,
