Chapter 28

Kripa went outside and watched everyone's eyes on her.

K- I....I have to---

Naina- Kripa you should relax now, you just delivered you need rest---

K- Please let me talk, if I don't say this now then I'll never get a chance to

Maya- Say what?

K- .......I.....Angad and I ........we're not married.....we were never married

N- Kripa............ do you know what your saying?

K- Yes, Yes I do, I'm saying the truth I've been living for the last ten months.

Kar- But why did you two lie?

K- For one of his magazine articles, Angad went undercover in a high school to see what it was really like in there......we started going out and....... I...when I found out the truth we broke up....but then I found out I was pregnant. My scholarship to a school in London was terminated, at least until I gave birth. So I moved in with Angad. That's when Karan bhaiya called and informed us on dad's heart attack, Angad didn't want to leave me alone and go so he took me with him....as his wife.

M- Oh my gosh

K- When mom asked us to stay after dad's death, we couldn't say no.....and this lie became apart of our lives.......I'm sorry

Monica- So you and Angad aren't married?

K- ....no

Maya- Why are you telling us this now?

K- Because.......I'm leaving

N- What?

K- I'm going to London now.........I can't stay here

N- But why Kripa, we'll get you two married and everything will be fine----

K- Mom, don't make this harder than it already is for me.....I had decided a couple of weeks ago I would leave after I give birth to this child

Priya- But Kripa, we understand you have to go for college and everything but you should wait until your son is at least older---

K- I know if I don't leave now I'll never be able to leave, If I stay any longer than this child will grow on me.......I can't stay

Sahil- Kripa, you should talk to Angad before you lea---

K- No Sahil, I can't confront him.......please don't stop me

Kripa went to Naina, who was holding her son.

K- Mama, I'm leaving my life with you, take care of him

N- Kripa ......will you come back?

K- hmm.........

Kripa hugged Naina and kissed her son. She hugged everyone, Sahil was last.

S- Kripa, are you really leaving now?

K- Yes, I just have to get my suitcase from home and I'll......be gone

S- I guess I'll drop you then

K- .....thanks Sahil

A couple of hours later Angad woke up.

Doctor- Finally you woke up, I'll notify your family

A- Ouch, my head

Doc- I'll perscribe you some painkillers

A- Thanks, but I have to go, Kripa needs me

Doc- One second, let me get your family, I think everyone is here

A- ....ok

After a minute Angad saw everyone come in. He saw Karan holding a baby.

A- Bhai----

Kar- Yes Angad, this is your child, here

Karan handed Angad the child.

A- Wow, my son, my son, MY SON!

Mon- .........yeah

A- What did you guys name him?

Maya- He hasn't been named yet, you see Kripa left

A- What do you mean bhabhi?

N- Honey, Kripa went to London and.......

A- --------------

Mon- She told us the truth, how you two aren't married, she should be on the plane now

A- Why didn't she meet me?

N- Actually-----

Mon- Why would she meet you before she left, I mean your only supposed to meet the people you love, and apparently Kripa doesn't love you

Sahil came in the room. Angad looked at him then away.

A- Eshaan, that's his name

The game was tied. This next shot would declare if they won. Alliya looked around and saw Kripa was free, she kicked the ball her direction. Kripa quickly got the grip of the ball with her foot. She saw two girls from the other team running towards her to get the ball. She ran with the ball and knowing the two girls were catching up to her, she kicked the ball, hoping it would make it in the goal. Everyone froze watching the ball. The goalie made an attempt to block the ball but missed, and the ball made it in the goal.

After the game Alliya and Kripa started walking to their apartment.

Al- We totally rocked that game!

K- Yeah, wasn't your fiance supposed to come see the game?

Al- Oh my god, don't even talk about him! Stupid idiot missed our final game

K- Maybe it took him some extra time at the airport---

Al- I don't care, he could have called

K- Look at it this way, now that your mad he'll do something to make it up to you

Al- He better-----

Before Alliya could talk further she felt someone hug her from behind.

Al- So you finally got time to come meet me?

Guy- Sorry my flight got a little late, sorry, but I came all the way from New York to meet you, so doesn't that make up for it?

Al- My foot!

K- Hi Prithvi

P- Hey Kripa, so did you guys win the game?

K- Yep

Al- Our last game and you missed it, I came to your final football game

P- Sorry, I'll make it up to you, dinner?

Al- ......fine

P- Good, so Kripa now that college and the soccer season is over, are you going to go to India?

K- ........I really want to but---

Al- But what? I'll go with you, Prithvi will go with you, you won't have to be afraid of anyone

K- It's not that Ali, but.......I shouldn't have left without talking to him....I regret it so much

Al- Your right, you shouldn't have, but you can't change what happened or didn't happen now, all you can do is go meet Angad and your son

K- You think Angad will forgive me?

P- Kripa, in the little time I've known Angad, he'll give the world to see you again and I bet in no time he'll forgive you

Kripa laughed.

P- What?

K- I remember when Alliya told me you two were dating, I couldn't believe me ears, the same two people that couldn't stand each other in high school were in love

P- Hey, even I couldn't believe that I liked her

Al- Whatever Prithvi, you were the one that fell for me first

K- Whatever happened, happened for the good

They reached their apartment.

Al- Let's go to a movie

P- Sounds good, what movie?

Al- Kripa you choose, last time I did

K- Sorry guys, I have to go return my college books, you guys carry on

P- Come on Kripa you could do that tomorrow

K- College ended a week ago and tonights the deadline

P- ok

Prithvi and Alliya left. Kripa returned her books and came home. She sat by the phone. She wished she had kept in touch with him. Everyday she regretted leaving. She longed to hold her son, but she was so unfortunate she didn't even know his name. All she remembered was his blue eyes. She smiled thinking about him. But now she decided she would go to India and meet them. In these four years, she also made another realization, she did love Angad, more than she loved anyone in this world. Now she would go back to India, she would tell Angad her feelings and she was sure he still loved her. He would eventually forgive her for her sudden leave too, she was sure.

Kripa picked up the phone and dialed Angad's cell number. Unfortunately, he changed his number. She then dialed his house number. After a couple of rings, someone picked up the phone, it was a man.

Man- Hello

K- .........h......hi, .....who is this?

Man- I'm Durgesh, a Khanna house servant, who is speaking ma'am?

K- oh.....erm.....I'm........I .......I'm a government worker, we're doing a survey on how many kids there are per household......so.....how many kids are in that house and if you could please tell me thier names, then that would be great

Durgesh- Well ma'am, Karan sir has a daughter, Shweta. Rohit sir has two daughters, Mahi and Tia, but Mahi and Tia are at boarding school, and of coarse Angad sir's son

K- Yes, Angad's son, his name is....?

Durgesh- His name is-----------

For some reason KRipa's phone got disconnected. They probably forgot to pay the phone bill. Kripa threw the phone on the sofa.

Angad was working on his laptop. He heard a beep on his phone. He pressed the intercom button and heard his secretary.

A- Yes Maria?

Mar- Sir, Monica ma'am is here to meet you

A- Fine, send her in

Mar- Yes sir

A couple of seconds later he heard the door open.

A- Hey

Mon- Hey baby, how are you?

A- I'm fine

Mon- Good, let's go out for lunch

A- I can't, I have a lot of work to do

Mon- Angad, you own this magazine house, your a billionaire, I'm sure you can manage to skip some work and go to a date with your fiancee

A- ....If it wasn't important work then I would go, but it is

Mon- Fine, well I'm going to do some shopping, do you need anything honey?

A- No thanks

Mon- I think you need some more shirts, I'll get you some really nice ones

A- No thanks

Mon- Shhh, I'll do what I want, now I better rush, bye

A- bye

Around five o clock Angad went home. Right as he walked through the doors, Shweta ran toward him.

S- Chachu, I'm so bored!

A- Then why don't you go watch tv

S- Because i've been watching tv all day and I'm sick of it

A- Ok, in an hour or so I'll take you out for games and pizza---

S- And Ice cream!

A- Sure

S- I love you chachu

A- I love you too

S- By the way, Eshaan is mad at you

A- Why?

S- I don't know, but that's what he told me, bye

Angad walked into Eshaan's room. He saw him on his bed with his face dug into the pillow.

A- Hey, whats up?

E----------

A- I've heard a rumor that your mad at me

E----------

A- So it's true, but Eshaan, at least tell me why

Angad went and sat by him.

A- Ok, silent treatment, I know what to do with this situation

Angad pulled Aryan into his lap and tickled the daylights out of him.

E- Stop daddy, stop!

A- Will you tell me why your mad at me?

E- Yes, yes, but please stop

Angad stopped tickling him.

A- Ok, tell me

E- Why didn't you come early, you said you'd take me to go get that football video game, remember?!

A- oh, sorry i forgot, but tell you what, I'm taking Shweta out for ice-cream, you can come too, and we'll go get your game afterwards

E- promise?

A- promise

E- thanks daddy

A- Did you feed Sammy?

E- yep

A- Monica said Sammy kept barking at him when she came over

(Yes, Sammy is Eshaan's dog)

E- That's because Monica mom doesn't know how to behave with Sammy, but ....he'll get used to her..... eventually

A- ok, well I'm going to go get fresh, c ya

As Angad was walking to his room he saw Maya and Priya in the small tv room.

A- Priya Bhabhi, I'm taking the kids out tonight

Priya- That's fine, .....erm Angad......

A- Yes?

Priya- You keep delaying your wedding with Monica and---

Maya- What Priya bhabhi is trying to say is we've got your wedding fixed for the third week in February, we hope that's fine

A- So soon?

Priya- Soon? Angad your wedding was supposed to be three months ago, you can't keep delaying it any longer

Maya- Besides, the sooner you two get married the sooner Eshaan gets a mother

A- ..........yeah

Angad left the room. After he changed he went downstairs. Eshaan and Shweta were on his side, ready to go, when Monica walked through the doors.

Mon- Hello Shweta, Eshaan, Angad, where are you three going?

Naina came towards them.

Mon- Hi aunty

N- .....hello, Angad heres your keys

A- oh, thanks mom

Shweta- Bye dadi

N- Have fun kids, and don't trouble Angad too much

Naina smiled and left.

Mon- Angad, I wanted to go to dinner with you

A- Actually---

Shweta- Sorry Monica aunty, but chachu is taking us out

Mon- He can take you kids out later

Eshaan- Monica mom, you can go with him another time

Monica's anger was to the limit now. She couldn't believe because of these good for nothing kids, she would have to cancel her plans. She hated sharing Angad with them.

A- Sorry, but I promised the kids

Shweta stuck her tongue out at Monica, Monica gave her an evil stare in return.

Mon- That's fine honey, kids come first. But tomorrow your all mine

A- bye

Mon- Have fun!

Angad got the kids settled in the back seat and then got in the drivers seat himself.

Shweta whispered in Eshaan's ear.

S- She's such a which

E- But which have a broomstick and a big nose right?

S- Yes, that or they can look like Monica

E- Monica mom----

S- One second, why do you call her mom, you know shes not your mom

E- Is too!

S- No shes not, I've met your mom and she's definitely not anything like Monica

E- .........you met my real mom?

S- yep, when i was......4!

E- you still remember her?

S- Of coarse silly. I remember she was really really pretty, one day I'll look like her too. And she was really nice too!

E- Then where is she now and why did Maya chachi say Monica mom is my mom?

S- Well Sahil chachu is the only one that ever talks about her, he told me shes in London now and Maya chachi told you to call Monica aunty mom because ........well......I don't know, I think it's because Angad chachu is marrying her.

E- oh, but Monica mom is nice to me

Sh- Whatever, she pretends!

When Angad left with the kids, Monica stood looking at them. Maya came and stood next to her.

Maya- What happened, he gave the kids more attention than you?

Mon- Just wait Maya, after I marry Angad, these kids won't have the courage to say anything to me

Maya smiled.

Mon- Really, you did a very smart thing by sending your kids to boarding school

Maya- I know, it was one the best decisions I've ever made. Anyways, since the day Eshaan has been calling you "Monica mom," Angad became yours

Mon- Tell me about it. I've got that little boy wrapped around my finger, but Priya's daughter, whats her name, Shweta, I just want to kill her

--------------Scene change--------------

Alliya- Kripa calm down, we're almost there

K- It seems like we've been on this plane for days

P- Just an hour and a half left, and we'll be in India

K- I can't wait!!!

Their flight finally landed. Kripa smiled. She was happy, scared, excited, and nervous to be back in India. They got their bags and headed outside.

P- Ok, we'll go to my house, cool?

Al- sure, Kripa come on

Kripa looked at the time and back at her friends.

K- You two go, I have to wait for someone

Al- Who?

K- This girl Pia, her flight should be here in half an hour, you two go

P- Ok, but come to my place later

K- Sure

Al- bye, take care

K- bye guys

After half an hour, Kripa saw Pia. She smiled as Pia walked towards her.

P- Hey Kripa

K- Hey, are you ready?

P- I don't know, but I'm so excited to see Sahil

K- I can't even imagine Sahil's expression when he sees you, he'll be knocked off his feet

P- I hope so

Kripa called the Khanna house, because she didn't have Sahil's number.

K- hello

Shweta- Hello!

Kripa knew it must be Shweta. She smiled.

K- I needed to speak to Sahil Khanna, is he there?

Sh- Yep. SAHIL CHACHU, PHONE CALL!!!.........one second

Sahil- Hello

K- Sahil......it's me....

S- .....Kripa, wow, how are you?

K- I'm fine.....you won't believe it, but I'm in India

S- No way! Wow! Come meet me

K- No Sahil, you come meet me

S- I'm right on my way, but where?

K- The coffee shop by City Mall

S- I'll be there in fifteen minutes

K- ok

Sahil came and saw Kripa. They both hugged.

S- So how was London

K- Fine, but you know who I found in London

S- Who?

K- Look for yourself

Sahil saw Kripa move out of the way and he saw Pia.

S- Pia.....Pia!

Sahil went and hugged her.

P- I love you Sahil

S- I'm so sorry Pia, I can't believe I trusted Monica---

P- Sahil, Kripa told me everything. We met in London last week and here I am.

S- Thanks Kripa

K- No problem. You two carry on, I have to go, bye

P- Bye Kripa

K- Wait, Sahil, wheres Angad?

S- Heres his magazine house's address

K- Thanks

Kripa went to the address and parked her car. She couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the 100 floor building. She went inside to the receptionist desk.

Receptionist- Meena

Meena- How may I help you ma'am?

K- I need to meet Angad Khanna

Meena- Angad sir, do you have an appointment?

K- ......no

M- I'm sorry ma'am, you'll have to get a appointment first, sir is a very busy man

K- Please try to understand, I came all the way from London to meet him, please--

M- Well......sir is very clear about allowing only people with appointments to meet him

K- But it's an emergency

M- A policy is a policy ma'am

K- ....fine

When Meena got diverted in taking a phone call Kripa quickly took the elevator. She asked around and finally found Angad's office. She couldn't believe it took her this long, she just wanted to meet Angad, not the owner of the fashion magazine.

Kripa knocked on the door. When she heard Angad saw "come in", her heart skipped a beat. She slowly opened the door. She saw Angad's eyes were glued in a file.

K- Erm---

Without looking Angad spoke.

A- Yes?

K- uhgg----

A- I believe I'm supposed to be free this time, you don't have an appointment, so why are you here?

K- Ang----

A- I knew it, you would try to give some type of excuse, I'm sick of excuses! Why cant you people get a damn appointment and just wait?

K- Because I've waited four years

Angad looked up upon recognizing Kripa's voice. He stood up not taking his eyes off of her as if she would vanish if he did.
