Chapter 12

 

Almost a week passed from her first surgery and she was totally perfec , just like any other normal person, moving here and there , talking with everybody and even doing lots of gup- shup with her current found best buddy Akash. Once he started talking with her , they both , realised that their guesses about eachother's character was totally wrong , and to some extent they were quiet similar.

 

While staying in the hospital , she had made lots of friends , starting frm Akash to the nurses , then Dr. Payal.. and even the handsome Doctor Arnav Singh Raizada. By the way.. for Arnav... hmmm... she felt something more than friendship..., as everytime she heard his name , there were butterflies in her stomach , lol... And then whenever she tried to think about him , she remembered what La had told her few days back, in their phone chat.

 

"Khushi mujhe seriously lagta hai that you are in love , coz just the way you talk about him everytime , it simply gives up that , aur phir sayad unhe bhi tu pasand ho..."

"Aha.. mera toh phir bhi mujhe samajh aaya... but tujhe aisa kyu lagta hai ki Arn... mera matlab Dr. Arnav ko mai pasand ho sakti hoon.. m just a simple patient yaar..."

"Cmon Khushi tu itni stupid kab se hogayi... dekh aagar tu unhe pasand nahi hoti toh who tujhe operation ka kyu suggest karte that also full risk aapne upar lekar.. aacha chal leave that also.. if he doesn't likes you then har raat , why he comes to talk with you and sitand continue talking for hours. He too likes you yaar.. just that who aapne position ko maintain karte hue nahi bolte... don't worry someday you too will understand it..."

 

Khushi smiled remembering parts of her and La's conversation. And she thought , yes everyday she waited for the night to come and for him to enter the cabin , looking as usual handsome , and then the days he didn't visited were the worst ones for her. She loved talking with hi , she loved seeing him talk, and the thing she loved most about him was his smile. He was some sort of Greek God , who kept on captivating her in his magic.

 

And these days after completing Mills and Boons... whenever she sat alone... she thought of them... from portions of the book and would blush. And Akash , he seeing her blush would ask her the reasons and would tease her . It seemed like everybody thought or rather believed that she was in love with the most handsome Doctor. Even Dr. Payal once bcause of Akash's forcing confessed that she had never seen Dr. Arnav talk this much wth anybody neither Doctors nor patients.

All these things made her wait for the night more and yes today also she was waiting for him, but today in the noon, something unsual , yet usual thing happened , her legs started trembling again, her hands again started getting numb for 10-15 mins ,just the way it happened in the very first stage , in those days of hr college. Today she was waiting for him more eagerly as she needed to tell him about this and also that she wanted to meet him as for last 2 days , he was not able to visit her , because of some work.

 

 

Finally at 11 in the night , she saw him . He was wearing a whit shirt with blue deinm. His tight was tightly and smoothly tugged and his hair was gelled up , and seeing him , it looked like he had a tough day , as there was slight dark circles also. She smiled at herself for noticing him so clearly , as if scrutinizing him. And his right hand was holding his white coat and his sthetho. There was a pen in his pocket and his left hand , it was holding hs iphone and he was checking something in it. He came inside the cabin and once peeped towards Akash's side and seeing him sleeping , directly walked towards her  and keeping down her belongings pulled the chair and settled down.

"Hey !!!" he said getting into his cool Arnav form.

But she made a straight face and didn't reply. He got a bit confused with her behaviour and said

"Khushi Hi !!!"

"Aapne kuch kaha humse ????" she said in a sarcastic tone and he still in his confused state said

"Ummm ya Khushi I said Hi!"

"Mujhe aapse koi baat nahi karni Doctor Arnav..." she said making a face and hardening her voice.

Arnav looked at her confused and asked

"Kyu???? Maine kya kiya ???"

"Nahi aapne toh kuch bhi nahi kiya..." She said , enjoying this drama.

"Khushi..." the way he pronounced her name she just wanted to melt but she kept on her cover...

"Khushi atleast tell me I maine kiya kya hai... I know you are a lawyer but yu should play fair... "

 

Hearing the lawyer word Khushi turned towards him and said

"Gussa nahi hoon... toh aur kya karoon... Last 2 din se tum ek bar bhi milne nahi aaye... who toh mujhe Dr. Payal se pata chala ki tum bahut busy ho..." and telling this she made a sad face.

 

Arnav controlled his laughter , which instantly apperared seeing and hearing her reason. He took her hand in his and said

"Khushi... I am so sor..." And before he could complete , her hands dropped.

 

Arnav got shocked seeing this and took her hands once more lightly and again it fell. He looked at her with shock and got up and walked towards the end of the bed abd slowly tickled her feet . But Khushi, she sat there motionless , without any sensation. Khushi sat there totally silently , and looked at Arnav's shocked expression and she felt bad , bad not because her hands and legs were back to that form , but because of Arnav's shocked and tensed expression. She felt bad seeing him like that but then she couldn't help . He slowly came and sat beside her , on the bed ad took her hands in his carefully and rubbing them asked

"Yeh phir se kab se ho raha hai????"

"Aaj subah se.." she slowly said.

He looked at her and then at the calendar on the back wall.

 

Khushi looking at him thought , how unlucky she was... all this time when she had her sensations , he never took her hand in his except the very 1^st day , and today when he took her hands , she couldn't feel him again. Tears blurred her vision but she somehow controlled them , not wanting to disturb him anymore.

 

Arnav looked back at her and said

"Khushi I don't know what went wrong... you were all fine and now all of a sudden phirse... kal hume phirse kuch tests karwane padenge ..."

And Khushi slowly nodded her head and gave him an encouraging smile and said

"Koi nahi ... we will do it... atleast mujhe kuch dino ke liye hi sahi.. normally jeena ka chance toh mila na.. ad I am happy for that... now please tum iss baat ko lekar aapna mood kharap mat karo.. already you came after 2 days."

And he forecefully smiled at her thinking , how strong she was , after all this also , she is trying to cheer him up and she continued

"Waise tum 2 din se the kaha.. batao batao???"

He hesitated for a while and said

"Who actually mai.. New York gaya tha... for checking about the development status of Level II "

"Oh... thik hai par batake jana chahiye tha na..." she said so cutely that he smiled and said

"M so sorry MAM... aap mujhe maaf kar dijiye..."

And she laughed and said

"Chalo maaf kiya par..."

"Hmmm..."

"Tumne kuch promise kiya tha... US jakar use bhul toh nahi gaye...""Ofcourse nahi... kabhi bhi nahi... wada kiya hai.. neebhana toh padega.. don't worry mam... mai aapko aapke first date par zarur le jayunga..."

"Wooo... m so excited and pata jai maine aaj Nk ko bhi bataya that you had promised me."

He smiled and said

"Really ??? Btw ek baat puchu ???"

"Haan.. haan... pucho na..." she said maintaining the same enthusiasm.

"I don't need to be jealous of NK right... I mean kahin who tumhara BF .. tumhe date par le jane ke jurm mein mujh par case kar diya toh ????"

And Khushi started laughing out loud and said

"Pagal ho kya... NK aur mera BF... and no need to be jealous... aaj tak mera koi BF hi nahi bana hai..."

He narrowing his eyes said

"Yeh nahi ho sakta... Tumhara koi BF nahi hua hoga... Cmon yaar... don't joke... This is not done yaar..."

"Aare nahi .. m serious.. seriously .. na hi aaj tak mera koi BF bana hai.. aur nahi I have Kissed or dated anybody ever... actually I am not at all that attractive type , that boys will get attracted towards me.. bachpan se hi studies and all... mai toh parties mein bhi bahut hi kam gayi hoon..."

She didn't know , why she blurted all this thing like a stupid , but when she realised , she couldn't take those words back. So she slowly looked up at him to see , what was his reaction after listening to her stupid talks.

 

He was someone who always paid attention to people's conversation , and hearing her statement , he looked at her for good one minute, still not able to believe what she had said just now.. and then disagreeing... he slowly wrapped his hands tighter against her soft , fragile fingers. His body slowly yet steadly leant into hers as she found hers lean into him. Her eyes closed midway as the stretch between them closed further.

 

Arnav's hands left hersand reached for her face which was now tepid in anticipation and exhilaration. Little by little he pulled her towards himself and ther lips touched. She convuled as his lips wrapped hers in a temperate , passionate embrace.

 

The dampness of his lips was like her life's exilir. In those moments as Arnav's finger lingered on her neck and her fae , slowly caressing then , she felt she was cured of every illness. She lost herself , her body went limp as his body met hers and she found herself in a magical daydream.

 

Her tounge played around involuntarily with his , while even there Arnav commanded respect and guided her through the motion. His tounge played around with hers, hers played around with his and there was no telling apart their tounges.

 

A few seconds later , Arnav let go of her. Khushi dropped back onto her bed like a sack , helpless and weak, still lost in the just-been- kissed moment.

 

 

A precious few minutes passed before she opened her eyes and saw his shining eyes looking at her with unwavering focus. She couldn't face him , feeling enormously shy about looking directly at him. She smiled and blushed but keeping her eyes downcast at their wrapped hands. Yes, he has again wrapped their hands together. And she heard him

"For someone kissing for the first time, you are damm good..." he chortled

"We should have done this long ago."

Arnav didn't knew how and why, but he lost his self-control and couldn't control himself from kissing her. He was surely not that type of guy who flirted with girls, or who took advantage of situations. But today , he felt as if he took her advantage.
