Peering through a Mist
I see you every day, out of the corner of my eyes,
Dancing in that last stroke of kohl,
But you leave me at moonrise.
In our grimy walls, I see a flicker of your smise-
It lasts for a moment, then I don’t feel whole,
I see you every day, out of the corner of my eyes.
I have to leave, I’m on a string of ‘vacays’,
Just as you wanted. Yet, I still await the clocks’ toll,
But you leave me at moonrise.
Whenever I think of you, a small part of me dies;
I still wake up with tears, down my cheeks they roll
I see you every day, out of the corner of my eyes.
I feel like you’re right here, in the mist, in disguise.
I touch your lacy arms on my strolls
But you leave me at moonrise.
I know waiting for you still is probably unwise,
You wouldn’t want you to cloud my soul.
I see you every day, out of the corner of my eyes,
But you leave me at moonrise.
