Chapter 26
~26~
"Thinking about Samar?"
She looked up to meet his gaze fixed on her. It never ceased to amaze her how he read her thoughts. She nodded silently. He reached out and held her hand.
"I noticed something wrong with him too. He will be here in sometime... I will wait. Let's talk to him together."
"I did talk to him... he..."
She stopped and shut her eyes. She had never communicated her fears about her son to anyone else before. Her ex husband never listened and she had always been scared someone would judge her son wrongly 8f she shared her fears. He squeezed her hand and she opened her eyes.
"You know you can trust me, Anu... He is our son..."
She looked at his concerned eyes and moved closer to him. Wrapping her hand around his arm, she rested her head on his shoulder.
"He feels uncomfortable living at the Shah house.... Now that Kavya is pregnant, she has her mood swings. I won't blame her but it's getting increasingly difficult for Samar to bear her tantrums... He didn't say much but this is what I understood from the excuses he gave... He is a good kid, Anuj... Please don't get it wrong... It's just that..."
He placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head.
"I know my son very well Anu... You don't have to explain..."
"I am scared, Anuj... he doesn't say much, but he comes to the academy around 5 in the morning and leaves around 11.30 at night. I wish he would at least talk it out."
He suddenly pulled a little away from her, she looked up and he pointed towards the door.
"Here he comes... Don't worry, Anu... we will figure it out..."
"Samar...."
"Hi Papa... I thought you would have left..."
"I would have... if I hadn't wanted to see you..."
He walked towards him and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"What is wrong, son?"
"N-no-nothing..."
"Samar... we are your parents and we know exactly when something is wrong... I noticed it a week back and your mother feels the same too... so it's better you tell us what is wrong... We will figure it out together, son... why fight your battles alone when we are here?"
He sighed.
"It's Kavya... Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones or I don't know what it is... she simply can't bear me... every time she sees me she has to say something rude... I am having a hard time controlling myself... yesterday she taunted about Nandini... day before yesterday it was my dance... today it was about Mummy being a loser... and Mr. Shah juat stands there dumbly when all this happens... Today when she called Mummy a loser, I told her to stay in her limits and she started crying that I am treating her badly and the entire family including Mr. Shah ganged up against me.... because she is pregnant and I hurt her... Tell me, Papa... How do I stay calm when she talks nonsense against Mummy...?"
Anuj clenched his fists. That man and his wife had already done enough damage to his Anu... Now they were targeting his son too.
"Samar... don't listen to her... you know she talks nonsense, don't let her get under your skin..."
"I know, Mummy... but how do I ignore... she is always there right before my face as soon as I get back... That's why I prefer going home late..."
"You don't have to go there anymore... Move in with us... Pack your bags... From tonight you are staying with us..."
"But, Papa.. how can.. how can I come to your... your house?"
"You call me Papa and you still don't understand what is mine is yours too? It's your house too, Samar. "
"But.. but..."
"I am not giving you an option, Samar. It's an order. I will talk to Vanraj."

She had cleaned the cupboards, rearranged the furniture a little and made the bed. She had even added a collage of Samar's favorite dancers on the wall. She mentally patted her back satisfied at what she had done. Suddenly, she heard a voice
"Mmmm... nice... You did so much in 3 hours... I am impressed, Anu... I am sure Samar would love this room..."
She turned around to see her husband leaning against the door frame.
"He would..."
She moved towards him and hugged him tight.
"Thank you... thank you... thank you..."
He simply patted her back.
"Come on, Anu... Samar is my son too... You know that..."
She smiled and pulled away.
"Yes I do... by the way... Has Mausi agreed?"
He nodded grinning.
"What did you talk to him?"
"Told him that I don't really care about his personal life but I won't let anyone talk nonsense to my son and keep quiet. If his wife is having some insecurities, it's his duty to take care of it. Since he doesn't seem capable of doing it, I won't let my son stay there and spoil his peace."
She looked at him open mouthed.
"You really told all that?"
"Of course..."
"And he actually agreed..."
"Yes wifey... He did... You can't say no to The Anuj Kapadia..."
She raised her eyebrow and gave a sly smile.
"Oh really...?"
He caught her act and pulled her flush against him. Lowering his head, he placed his lips on the crook of her neck. Tracing patterns with his lips on her neck and shoulders, he moved up to her ears. Wetting her ear with flick of his tongue, he proceeded to minister her face with small wet kisses. He pulled back a little and saw her eyes shut, cheeks red and all flushed up. He grinned and moved back to her ears and whispered
"Of course... you can't... but if you really want to try... I don't mind checking it out tonight..."

A/N: I don't agree with Anu that Mishter Shah is a good father. This is rather dull, I know... but I wanted to write this...
Next part would be a mature part as the theme is mature. It's about physical intimacy. So kind of a difficult theme.
