Part 9 C- A musical evening

After his song, Anuj put the mic and guitar away, and stood at the centre of the stage, his back towards the audience, and turned around as the music began -

He danced on the complete song, looking at Anu, her eyes telling him what she had felt multiple times - He was expressing how mesmerized he gets everytime he looks at her, right from college till today, she takes his breath away every time she smiles, one glimpse of her and his day is made, he keeps thinking about her all day, grinning like a lovestruck idiot every moment since he's met her at the reunion party.. he feels complete, he feels alive, and he just wants to be hers, and hold her close forever..

The song ended.. the audience burst into applause as Anuj went to take his seat beside his Anu.. before he could do that, Anu just held his shoulders, raised herself a little on her toes and gave him a small kiss on the cheek.. in front of everyone.. without caring about their judgements or opinions.. and that small thing meant the world to Anuj.. he knew how difficult it was for her to love again, to lose herself in love after she'd painfully found herself.. but she was doing it.. just for him.. he just held her hand tight and sat down beside her..

Kinjal :" waise toh humaari families me sab bohot acche dancers hain.. par ab hume ye pata lagana hai ki best kon hai.. toh isiliye hum karenge ek battle.. waise toh humesha Ladkiwaale v/s Ladkewaale hota hai..par yahaan dono sides se members ke numbers me difference hai.. toh hum boys v/s girls danceoff rakhenge.."

Boys team- Samar, Sanjay, Bhavesh, Bapuji, Mamaji, GK

Girls team - Devika, Mukku, Meenu, Pakhi, Dolly, Anu's mom

The kids first have a danceoff on Ghagra, then the others join in to dance on Maahi Ve, and drag MaAn in too..

They all form pairs and dance to this.. with maan in the centre..

Anu is overjoyed as Anuj is dancing with her, touching her earring and giving it a slight flick, holding her hand up and running a finger over her bangles, giving her goosebumps, holding her and looking deep into her eyes.. conveying all the love and passion he had for her..

She blushes and they continue dancing, happily..

As everyone comes to her and dances around her, he still doesn't budge from her side..and dances perfectly... all the moves being painstakingly practised with him.. as Anu looks at him being the best on the dance floor, she remembers how he had practised day and night for this, just to make this special for her..

(Flashback)

After sangeet rehersals the entire day, Anuj and Anu had gone to their respective apartments.. Anu was so tired that despite being used to dancing for hours everyday she just sleepily took a quick shower, loosely wrapped a saree around herself and slept

At the middle of the night.. Anu got up for some water..as she headed on to the kitchen, she noticed that her bag was lying open on the dining table.. she was sure she had put it in her room before she slept.. as she was wondering about this, she heard some faint music from outside the house and wondered who on earth was playing Maahi ve at 3 am.. she opened her door and realised the music was coming from Anuj's house.. she went and rang the bell..he opened the door looking surprised.. and Anu.. she was just blown over looking at him like that.. in his vest and track pant, completely drenched in sweat..

Seeing her lost, Anuj cleared his throat

Anuj:" Anu, tum yaha itni raatko? Sab theek toh haina?"

Anu stepped inside, and closed the door behind her..and started wiping his face using her pallu, conveniently ignoring the towel lying on the centre table

Anu:" Aap ye kya kar rahe the??"

Anuj:" Woh main.. dance practice"

Anu:" Iss waqt???"

Anuj:" haan woh maine socha kal subhe toh office jaana hai toh time nahi milega and shaam ko tum naye steps sikhaane waali ho.. toh aaj jo steps seekhe the woh acche se practise karlu..isiliye main tumhaare gharme aaya tha spare key use karke, aur tumhaare bag se pendrive nikala jisme saare songs the.."

Anu immediately started scolding him..

Anu:" Aap kya bacche hain Anuj.. kitni baar kaha hai apna dhyaan rakhiye..iss umar me aapke peeche peeche bhaag ke koi aapko khaana khaane ke liye ya time pe sone ke liye nahi kahega..aap zara bhi nahi samajhte aap beemar pad jaayenge.."

Anuj just places his finger on her lips..and holds her waist with his other hand

Anuj:" Anu, ab tum ho na, humaari shaadi ke baad tum mujhe khaana bhi khilaogi, aur nahi khaaya toh ye wife ki tarah lecture bhi dogi, par haan..time pe sone ki guarantee main nahi de sakta" and winked at her

Anu understood what he was trying to imply and blushed a dark red.. lightly pushed him and turned away..

Anuj gently held her arm and turned her towards himself, and tried to look into her lowered eyes

Anuj:" Anu, main mazaak kar raha tha, sorry, tumhe bura toh nahi laga na"

Anu's lips slightly curved upwards and she looked at him, eyes still lowered

Anu:" Koi baat nahi"

Her cheeks were colouring up..

Anuj smiled at that and pulled her into a hug

Anuj:" Arre haan.. main toh bhul hi gaya, tumhe ab meri koi bhi baat buri nahi lagti, haina"

Anu:"Hmm"

Anuj:" I love,jaan"

Anu:" Hmm"

Anuj:" Hmm kya bolo"

Anu:" Bhapp"

She wriggles out of his arms and switches off the music player and then turns to Anuj..

Anu:" Ab chaliye woh pendrive waapas kijiye, warna chumbak ki tarah woh bhi chura lenge Mr. Chumbak Chor"

Anuj:" Aur jo tumne mera dil churaya hai woh"

Anu:" Bas haa ab shayar kapadia ji chup chap pendrive dijiye aur jaakar so jaiye.. warna main kal pura din aapse baat nahi karungi"

He hands her the pendrive, pouting, and she sees he has drawn a red heart on it..and her heart melts at his cuteness and she pulls his cheeks...

Anu:" Good night mere Bholuram ji"

And runs away to her apartment.. leaving him smiling and caressing his cheeks..

(Flashback ends)

Anu dances, literally feeling like all the sequins in her dupatta are actually stars.. and his love makes her feel like she's floating in the sky..

Everyone dances to the chorus

Anu's entire family surrounds her, her mom nearest to her..and then they have a group hug and share an emotional moment..

Khaaye dhajke o soniye

Anuj goes inside their circle, and picks a surprised Anu up in his arms, bringing her to the front

Everyone takes their positions as he sets her down and they all dance happily to the chorus..

After the song ends, everyone goes to their seats..except maan..

Kinjal:" Finally woh performance ki baari hai jiska hum sabko, aur specially humaare star couple ko kabse intezaar tha.. Mummy aur Anuj papa ka performance"

As everyone cheered, they both shared an eyelock and got ready for the performance..

Anuj knelt closer to Anu and whispered in her ear

Anuj:" Ready ho  jaan..kaha tha na sabke saamne romance karunga..all the best"

Anu was stunned.. she was anticipating what he would do..she too loved this naughty side of her soon-to-be husband..but she was nervous too..her kids and parents would be watching.. but she was determined to let go of all her inhibitions and enjoy the day and make it special for both of them..

The music started playing...

Chahe tum kuch na kaho

Maine sun liya

Anupama walked towards Anuj, placed one finger on his lips

Ke saathi pyaar ka

Mujhe chunn liya

She walked behind him and gave him a back hug

Chunn Liya ..

Maine sunn liya.

He removed her hand from his chest and held it, as she stepped away, and pulled her, as she turned and stood before him, her back touching his chest and his arms encircling her waist

Pehla nasha pehla khumar

Naya pyaar hai, naya intezaar

Kar loon main kya apna haar

Aye dil e bekaraar

Mere dil-e-bekarar, tu hi bata

Pehla nasha, Pehla khumaar

They danced to the tunes.. lost in the beautiful feeling called love..

Anuj held Anu's hand and climbed up a bench kept on the stage, and jumped down from there and sat on his knee, as Anu sat on his other leg, and he gently stroked her cheek with one hand, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, his other holding her waist tight.. as Anu got up.. he tickled her bare waist a little.. teasing her..

Anu came in front of him, and held his hands..looking into his eyes lovingly..carressed his stubble and pinching his cheek a little because she couldn't control herself, she ran away, hiding behind a curtain as he chased her

Aur choome wo mujhe pyaar se

After running around, pretending to be tired, she sat on one end of the bench kept there.. as Anuj sat close beside her, almost squeezing her between the handle of the bench and himself.. and gave a long kiss on her cheek..

Anu was startled..this wasn't part of the choreography at all.. he was just supposed to sit beside her..but he took the lyrics a little too seriously..

They danced to rest of the song just as lovingly.. and it ended with Anu resting her head and arms on his chest, his chin on her head and his arms around her waist..

The next song began playing..

Anuj placed a finger under her chin and gently lifted it, looking into her eyes..

He held Anu's hand and twirled her, and lifted her up in his arms, walked in circles twice, making her feel like she was flying, free inspite of being held.. and then gently hald sat - half laid her down on the bench..

Bhahut khushnaseeb hai

Chahe jise door se duniya

Woh mere kareeb hai

He sat down near the bench, and caressed her face gently, bending down near her, as if to kiss her, but stopped a few inches away from her face and withdrew, pulling her up..

Kitna kuch kehna hai

Phir bhi hai dil mein

Saawal kahin

Sapno mein jo roj kaha hai

Woh phir se kahun ya nahi

He placed his hand over his heart in his signature manner..

And then got up, taking her in his arms

Raising his eyebrows as if asking her..boldu?

She nodded..

And he told her.. he sees the world in her eyes.. his heart flutters when she glances at him.. and when she looks at him with love and passion..he cannot even express what that does to him..

Teri nazaron ne dil ka

Kiya jo hasar asar yeh hua

He told her how much his life has changed since she has become a part of it.. the dark night and the lonely moon has started to seem beautiful and positive to him.. because it reminds him of her.. though the moon is no match to her glow and beauty..

He would love to just stare at her all day long and just get lost in her eyes and never be found again..

The song ended.. them, happy, embracing each other, without any doubts or concerns about what their kids or parents or guests would think.. this moment was theirs.. and they had the right to live it as they wanted to..

They step a little apart.. and bow down, acknowledging the applause and cheering from the audience..

Anuj takes a mic and says..

Anuj:" Humaari khushi me shaamil hone ke liye thanks a lot, aap sabko.. par aaj hum sab yaha hai, enjoy kar rahe hain..khush hain.. toh iska credit ek aise insaan ko jaata hai jiske bina ye love story kabhi puri nahi hoti.. toh aaj hum dono, apna gratitude express karne ke liye ek chota sa performance usse dedicate karna chahte hain"

Anu takes the mic from him

Anu:" Devika, this is for you"

The music plays..

The music continues to play, as Anu runs down the stage to Devika, both in tears..and drags her to the stage.. where the 3 friends dance together..

but when u smile for me world seems all right

ye meri zindagi pal mein khil jaaye

Jaane kyun

Jaane kyun jaane kyun dil janta hai

They both stand on either side of Devika.. and pamper her through their dance.. hugging her, keeping their hands on her shoulder, pulling her cheeks, etc.

chhote chhote kuch palo ki dostana yeah

jaane kyun abb lag raha hai jaana maana yeah

cos when smile for me world seems all right

yeah saare pal yehi yuhi tham se jaaye jaane kyun

jaane kyun dil jaanta hai tu hai to i’ ll be all right

They link arms and dance.. and then they both kiss Devika on the cheek.. and they share a group hug as the song ends.. both Anu and Devika were crying...and Anuj trying to console them.. though his eyes were teary too..

Anuj:" Devika..thank you.. college se lekar aaj tak tune mujhe sambhala, Anu ke baare me itna kuch bataya..mujhe Anu ke paas na hote hue bhi usse dur feel nahi diya.. aur main jab apni Anu ke paas nahi tha.. toh tumne usse sambhala.. thank you.."

Anu:" Thank you Devu.. bohot bohot thank you.. mujhe toh kabhi pata nahi tha par tune mujhe humesha Anuj ki taraf aage badhne ke liye madat ki.. chahe woh business partner ki tarah ho, dost ki tarah ho ya jeevansathi ki tarah.. aur tune humesha mera saath diya hai.. tab bhi jab mere khudke parivaar ne mera saath nahi diya.."

They both hugged her tight once again..

Devika:" Arre tum dono pagal logo ne mujhe bhi rula diya.. mera makeup kyu spoil kar rahe ho.. chup karo ab.. tumlogo ko ye sab bolne ki zarurat nahi hai.. main waise bhi apna credit chodne waali nahi thi..mujhe pata hai mere bina tum dono kisi kaam ke nahi ho"

And they all laughed.. ending the beautiful night on a positive and happy note.

That's it for today.. after the romance and the dance in today's episode.. this will seem very average.. but I had thought of selecting Pehla Nasha for sangeet when I had started writing the ff.. have always loved this song and it perfect suits maan..
