Chapter 8

"So, How was the date?"Archana asked her with excitement lacing her voice as she entered the room of her daughter.

"It was good. He was really sweet." Taani answered her, a shy smile playing on her lips which didn't go unnoticed by her mother. Archana came and sat beside her on the bed.

"And his friends were also nice, except some. I enjoyed a lot there-"

"I'm happy you enjoyed. So, and any progress? Did he propose you?" Archana asked her, Taani rolled her eyes at her weird yet super cute mom.

"Mom, there is nothing like that-"

"Oh! keep telling yourself that. I saw how he kissed you, that boy is head over heels in love with you." Archana hushed her, after hearing about Rey from her daughter she could tell, that he feels something for her.

"Mom!" her eyes widen in shock, realizing her mother had witnessed everything that happened outside her house.

"What? I was in balcony and i happened to witness it. And trust me, that scene was pretty cute-" Archana commented causing her daughter to turn beetroot red in embarrassment.

"Pagal! Come downstairs, I'll get dinner ready." Archana said to her before she got and left the room, leaving her daughter behind who was still blushing ten shades of red.

After her mother leave, her cell phone ringed, catching her attention. She composed herself and picked up the cell phone, a shy smile touched her cheeks when she saw it's him.

"Hello-" She picked up the call.

"Hello, beautiful. Did you had your dinner?" Rey asked her from the other side of the call.

"Not yet. You?"

"I had mine. Actually, I called you to ask something-" She frowned when she sensed the hesitation in his voice.

"What it is, Rey?" Taani asked him softly.

"Will you go out on a date with me, just you & me?" Rey asked her from the other side of the call, and her heart just stopped beating for a moment. Her mind went blank as his words sinked in. Was he really asking her out? Or she is dreaming?

On the other side, Rey was getting restless with her silence. Questioning himself if he was rushing into things?

"Okay." A small voice came from the other side, breaking his trance. It took him a moment to realize that, she had said yes to go out with him.

''Really? Thank you! Taani, I'll come tomorrow by 3, to pick you up."

"Okay. Rey, i got to go, mom is calling me for dinner" taani said to him when she heard her mother's voice from downstairs.

"Alright. Bye, sweetheart." Rey whispered in husky tone, making her blush at his sweet words. They ended the call with a wide smile on their faces, extremely happy with progress.
