Chapter two

Flashback of a day before marriage

Angad's residence , moga, 11pm

He knew he was doing wrong to both of them. She was not as happy as she seemed to show to everyone during the marriage functions. 

Meanwhile her ex was hiding behind corners and crying all to himself. He saw how much that guy was shattered , peeping through curtains and whats not , watching him suffering losing his love to another man.

Angad was aware that tejo and fateh loved each other deeply. 

He stood watching his own reflection in the small mirror hanging on a wall of his washroom, battling with his inner self. His male ego taunted him harshly

" This was not u buddy. U've changed. U became a selfish human just like everyone else. Her own  selfish family used her for their canada dreams and sacrificed her's instead , her in laws were selfish for their own son's happiness and now u , a very selfless soul had become selfish in her love that u couldn't see her pinning for her ex. U couldn't see her pain. This was not u at all. Dude, what have u become?" 

Angad was hurt. His love was one sided. He had to back off somehow. But it was too late. Both families were happy. Wedding functions were going on. By next morning, he will be married off to Tejo. It was too late . How was he gonna face the families.

" Sorry i can't marry your daughter . I changed my mind the last minute". 

He was restless full nite . 

The marriage day , 9am 

He was dressed fully in a gold sherwani ready to take his baraat with his grandparents and some relatives when he received a phone call from a stranger .

Riya was kidnapped once again. 

The kidnapper instructed him not to proceed with the marriage otherwise the little girl would be killed. He obeyed. After all he himself was prepared to back off . 

The kidnapper demanded 20 crocre in ransom and the location given was far from Moga

She was held captive in Chandigarh. 

He rushed immediately to his niece's rescue after getting the money ready.

His grandparents pleaded him to inform sandhus but he refused. If tejo found out riya was missing, she would tag along and he couldn't risk her life. The kidnapper sounded quite dangerous.

As he left for Chandigarh by road, he texted to fateh stating he was backing off from the marriage and he(fateh) should unite with tejo at the same mandap. 

But there was no reply from fateh.

He even rang him after not getting a response for the sent message. Surprisingly, fateh's phone was switched off. He was puzzled. 

Why was fateh not responding???
