Part 7 -

Abhi sat down at the table with Pragya at a nearby caf, Abhi looked at her as she ordered for them without asking him.

"How do you know I don't have tea and only coffee?" Abhi asked purposely watching her face as she tried to come up with an excuse.

"Oh, umm Tanu told me" Pragya lied.

Abhi knew she would have an excuse but he wasn't going to give up easily, he was going to find out.

"So how are you're studies going on exactly?" Abhi asked and they both got into deep conversation, away from the main topic, well at least for now.

"Oh wow this place is so so so peaceful!" Pragya said as Abhi made her lay down on the grass. The weather had changed now, the clouds were dark and it seemed as if it would rain.

"Yeah, I always come here when I need to calm down." Abhi told her.

And it's even better with you here

But Abhi only said that in his mind, he needed to let her admit everything first.

They lay there for a few moments, after their talk a few minutes earlier they were both glad the other was well as well as their families.

"So Pragya you have told me everything?" Abhi asked sitting up.

"What do you mean, anything else left?"

"I mean there is nothing you want to admit to?

Pragya looked down nervously, did he already know? Pragya twiddled her thumbs as he got up and reached for her hand. She took it reluctantly and he began to walk with her hand in his. They were behind some trees now, away from people, not that there had been any before they arrived. The park had always been a quiet place. But now there was a loud thunder and Pragya hugged Abhi tightly scared.

Abhi hugged back tightly before moving her back by the shoulders and cupping her face as reassurance. The gentle breeze flew Pragya's hair to the side and Abhi gently tucked it behind her ear looking at the beauty before him. His eyes met hers, there was not a single reason that made him want to look away.

She was too lost in the feeling to do anything other than want him, desire him. Abhi lent forward slowly and without a thought captured her lips with his. Pragya was responded easily. The moment was so perfect for both of them that neither reacted for a while.

There was another sound of thunder which snapped her back to reality and she jerked away trying to walk away but Abhi held onto her wrist gently.

"Pragya" He whispered gently pulling her back so her back was touching him. "Where are you going?"

"Abhi" He heard her painful voice and turned her around to face him.

"Hey why are you crying?" He asked wiping the tears away.

"This is wrong"

"What is wrong?"

Pragya again moved away, slowly but vividly what had just happened began to settle in her mind. She had just kissed her best friends boyfriend.

Where were her limits?

The rain finally fell from the bursting clouds drenching the two but neither took any notice.

"Abhi, please leave you know what I am talking about, this isn't right" Pragya told him gritting her teeth in both anger and pain.

 "What is wrong? The fact that I kissed you, how is it wrong?" Abhi asked her making her look at him but she moved his hands away.

"Abhi, Tanu is like my sister, I can't do this to her, why the hell don't you understand?" Pragya felt her voice getting louder.

"And what you both did to me was right?"

Pragya bit her lip, he did know didn't he?

"You both fooled me, but you know what? This is the first time I don't regret being the fool because it has led to the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me Pragya. Why don't you-" He didn't finish as she interrupted him.

"Okay fine, I admit what we did was wrong and we should have told you, in fact Tanu was going to tell you-"

Abhi interrupted now, "No need Pragya, I found out anyway" Seeing her puzzled look he told her how he had found everything in her bag. "Pragya Tanu doesn't love me, it was just a silly little thing that we continued until now, I loved the girl I spoke to and that girl is you" Abhi pointed to her but Pragya still turned away.

"Abhi please, this can't happen, Tanu told me, on Purab's birthday, she loves you, she may not have done before but she does now, since you came to India, she has changed, Abhi she loves you"

Pragya looked at him, she longed for him but no matter how much both tried circumstances would not let them be happy. Both were soaked by the rain and the tears were flowing but unknown, confusing even them, were they water droplets or their tears which were being washed away.

"Please give me one chance to sort this out"

"Abhi, it's me who has created this mess, why should you sort it out?"

"No Pragya listen, I know you love me"

"Yes, it's true I love you but that's not what matters, it's about Tanu as well."

"Okay, but listen to me first, I will sort this out, we will talk to Tanu, I will make her understand. Please just give me the time until we get back home"

Pragya looked at his pleading eyes, she couldn't say no and her heart was screaming for her to just hug him tight to her but she couldn't, maybe he was right, maybe it could be okay, just maybe?

Abhi and Pragya entered his eyes house both shivering, the walk back hadn't been awkward at all, Abhi felt as if things would get better, he was already planning his time with her while Pragya wished the same but the idea of what Tanu would have to say still haunted her but for the time being she pushed it away, she could at least savour this happiness that may or may not be short lasted.

They both spoke to his Daadi who was extremely glad to meet Pragya, after that they had quickly got changed but his Daadi also had some news to give to them. Tanu and her parents had phoned her and asked them to come home as soon as possible without any apparent reason.

Abhi assured Pragya, that he would make Tanu understand they could not stay together once again as she walked away into the spare room but that night neither slept well as they hoped that after that days rain, the next morning would only bring rays of happiness to their life.
