Chapter 4

Mehek walked from shop to shop, desperately trying to tire Shaurya. Her legs ached by mid-day. Yet he seemed unfazed that she never bought anything. Mehek looked at an underwear store and wondered if this would be it. Maybe he would not want to go inside. But as sexual as he was she felt unsure, but she was so tired she just decided for the hell of it and went inside.

"I need some normal underwear not that lacy weird stuff you got me with those holes Mehek said shaking her head. The shop assistant hearing her blushed.

"Fine by as many granny panties as you want He said looking around the store, Mehek went to assistant, and asked as many questions as she could to the assistant again picking a large bunch of things and then leaving them last minute. Shaurya looked at her with narrowed eyes.

"We have been to over 20 stores all morning and you have not bought a thing Mehek. Are you trying to annoy me? He asked irritated as they stood at the checkout. Mehek touched his arm and batted her eyelashes.

"You said you would not let me shop alone so I am letting you enjoy shopping with me She said, for the first time he smiled a genuine smile. Mehek was taken aback by how handsome he looked and let go of his hand.

"I want that one He said pulling out his credit card, Mehek looked to where he had pointed and blushed to her toes. It was a lingerie set.

"Well I did not know you liked wearing Lingerie Mehek told him, making the assistant laugh.

"I doubt I would look half as beautiful as you would in it He said placing his arm around her shoulder, the assistant asked for size and to her surprise he knew her exact measurements. Mehek wanted the ground to swallow her entirely.

"Wear it tonight to bed Shaurya whispered to her as he handed the bag to her. Mehek was going to lose it, she decided then and there. Then she would never have to wear such an outfit.

Mehek saw a toy store and went towards it without a word and smiled at all the toys. She touched the teddy bears and smiled, her eyes stuck onto a dwarf, with a mean face and without thinking she picked it up.

"It looks just like you Shaurya, his names grumpy She said laughing, at the name tag on his shirt. Shaurya looked blankly around the store and then the teddy.

He picked it up and tossed it onto the till.

He took out his card and payed again.

"God, I hate children He said when a little girl bumped into him and offered him a toothy smile.

"Does that mean you were born this big? Mehek asked rolling her eyes, He shook his head.

"No, it means they make no difference in the world. All they do is shit eat and mooch off others

"So, you must have been running Khanna group as a baby. Babies are a gift from god, A symbol of a couple's love for each other Mehek said.

For a second his expression remained blank and he just said nothing.

"Not every baby is brought into the world filled with noble intentions

"Just because you were dropped on your head several times doesn't mean there is no hope for everyone else

He glared at her remark. But remained silently seething.

Mehek held grumpy against her chest as they walked out the store. She noticed a store with books and went again excitedly inside.

She dropped the bag with the lingerie when Shaurya was not looking only holding grumpy close to her and walking around.

She had not a single chance to leave him, but since he had expressed his hatred for kids Mehek, felt better maybe if she asked him, he would take her himself so that there would be no baby.

She held grumpy up to her eye level.

"Where should I keep you? She asked it, Shaurya looked at her as if she were crazy and walked towards his office.

Mehek placed him on the sofa.

"At least you don't talk She said to him patting his head. Mehek sighed, she was making friends with teddy bears.

Mehek had a bath and noticed her clothing she had left on the bed were gone. All that was left was that bag from the store. Mehek cringed, so her smooth move was not smooth after all how had he hid it so long? She wondered. Mehek held it out and cringed. It was so utterly revealing that she felt embarrassed looking at the scraps of white lace.

She went to the cupboard and found it locked shut. Mehek shivered uncomfortably in her towel. She did not want to go out, he would just do what he had done to her the other day he had seen her in a towel. He ripped it off her and kept her in bed the entire day. Mehek sighed at memory. She looked around and opened it again. If she would put it on she would go under the blankets immediately. She put on the underwear and then the transparent lace teddy. She got into bed and hugged grumpy to her chest. She pulled the blanket over her covering her until her neck.

"You really like this thing, don't you? Shaurya asked her half amused when he lifted the cover and found her holding grumpy.

"No She said when he pulled it away and his eyes lowered onto her exposed flesh. Mehek tried to turn away but he got in and pulled the covers over the both, of them.

He drew her against him, and kissed her softly.

Mehek felt embarrassed finding the lace scraps he had bought her yesterday torn on the floor she threw them into the bin and went out the room. He was still sleeping, she noticed only a bit of the sheet covered his bottom.

Mehek looked at the pill bottle there was only 3 left.

She would have to tell him. She went towards his office and knocked on the door it was something she never did disturb him that is when he was working.

She was wearing one of his black zara t-shirts and a pair of jeans he had bought her, she knew he could probably see all of the marks he had left on her skin from his kisses and bites, evidence that they were newlyweds, he had once called it.

"Hi She said, he looked surprised she had graced his office with her presence.

"So, what do I owe this pleasure? He asked closing his laptop and standing up and stretching. Mehek wished she could stop noticing the way his muscles flexed, and that she would not remember how it felt when he held her close against him, and she could hear his heart beat against her ear.

"I need to see a doctor She said plainly.

"What's wrong are you sick? he asked walking forward and touching her cheek.

"No... Mehek said trying not to lean into his touch.

"I want to get refill on my birth control pills She said, he said nothing.

"We will go later today He said after a few minutes.

"How long have you been taking them? He asked.

"Since I got my period. I had really bad periods She explained. He nodded, he picked up his phone.

"I will phone a doctor and get them sent He said, Mehek nodded and gave him the information of her previous doctor. She shook her head how was she scared before, he would not make her have a child.

"Mehek Mehek woke up and the next morning to find Shaurya standing over her. He held out a bag.

"Here He said, Mehek took them.

Mehek wore a sari, one of the few things that were not revealing, that he had bought her, it was royal blue. He had wanted to go out for dinner. Mehek brushed her hair, and tried to ignore him watching her.

"You should take a picture, it would last longer She huffed standing up. He was wearing a matching royal blue suit, with a white shirt.

"If I was not hungry, we would not go out. I would keep you here all to myself He said walking towards her and reaching out and touching her waist.

Mehek pushed his hand away, and went to the door.

"All you ever think about is sex Mehek said annoyed.

Mehek ate slowly watching as Shaurya talked to the manager about the restaurant.

She felt sleepy when they were done and went back to his car, without thinking she placed her head on his shoulder.

Mehek woke up and had a quick bath. Shaurya was busy talking to someone on the phone when she went into the kitchen and stole his toast.

He kissed her forehead and went out the room.

Mehek was reading a book when she realised, she was developing feelings for Shaurya. She slammed the book shut and her eyes closed. All she could think of was him. She shook her head and tried to remember how he had come into her life. She would stay far away from him. She was probably lonely staying alone with him for so long. That's all.

Mehek brushed her long hair slowly. Shaurya was asleep on the bed, her eyes fell on his peaceful face. What was wrong with her, she shook her head and went to her bag. She picked up, the framed photo of her family and hugged it. I am sorry she told them silently. Then looked back at him.

Shaurya was shouting at someone, Mehek cringed as she heard him curse loudly followed by loud sound of something glass breaking. She went to his study and opened the door. He had thrown something on the wall. She pursed her lips and he glared at her.

"I am not in a good mood Mehek leave Mehek's eyes fell to his hand's that were bleeding.

"You are hurt She pointed out walking in towards him.

"What are you going to do, wrap a bandage around it and kiss it better? He asked sarcastically, Mehek was taken aback by his tone.

"What's wrong? She asked, the question seemed to only make him angrier.

"Your brother opened his big mouth about our wedding to the papers He said showing her his laptop screen. Mehek cringed as she read the headline.

SHAURYA KHANNA FORCEFULLY MARRIED MY SISTER...

"Mohit would never do that Mehek said shaking her head. Mohit would never, he believed that she was in love with him.

"I have worked hard, Very hard for my image. I will not allow your family to ruin it

"Mohit would never do that Mehek protested again.

He was beyond angry. Mehek was unsure if he would listen to her. She tried to touch him but he pushed her away and silently fumed.

Mehek was half asleep when she heard Shaurya open the door and then close it back again and walk away. It was the first night, he had ever slept away from her. Mehek looked at the ceiling, feeling far more awake than before and blinked, as her vision blurred and a tear ran down her cheek. He had not eaten today nor had he left from his study.

Mehek felt restless and woke up, she went towards the sitting room, and found him sleeping. She picked up a throw and placed it over him slowly. She touched his cheek and then let go, his hand shot out and grabbed her wrist. Mehek yelped, and almost jumped backwards.

"What is it? What more do you want? I gave you money, paid your families debts, married you, had one of biggest investments cancelled because of your brother He said venomously. Mehek pulled her wrist away and avoided his gaze.

"I never wanted anything to do with you. You pursued me She pointed out, he dragged her against him.

"Is that how it really went?

"I was going to marry Sandy you broke my engagement and blackmailed me into marrying you

He began to laugh.

"You are the biggest idiot I have ever met

Mehek pushed him away and ignored the tears that ran down her cheek.

"If you hate me so much, let me go Mehek said standing up.

His eyes darkened.

"You will not leave. Not now not ever

"You cannot keep me forever

"I will until, I say so. You are not permitted to leave

Mehek walked back to their room. Alone.

Mehek stood wearing just one of Shaurya's shirts, it came passed her knees because of how tall he was. She saw nothing of him when she went downstairs nor did she see him, at all the rest of that day. Mehek held grumpy to her chest late that afternoon and kissed his head.

"Where are you? She said aloud.

2 days later, Mehek heard the door open. She ran towards him and almost felt faint with relief he was back. He looked tired. He had on a perfect three-piece suit and a scowl that seemed immovable.

"I had to go back to India He said, Mehek wondered why he had not told her, he rather just locked her inside and left.

"Why did we not go back

"Because I was called by the police and almost charged for kidnapping you Mehek felt her mouth drop open.

"What?

"Your family has proven to be a thorn Mehek, I am not sure what you do with thorns but I will tell you what I do with them, I remove them.

Mehek shuddered at his tone.

"Why don't you let me speak to them?

"No. I forbid it. You will never speak to them again Mehek looked at the floor.

"You have taken my whole life away from me. Don't take them away from me. I won't be able to survive

He touched her cheek with the palm of his hand, which was rough, his thumb caressed her cheek.

"You have adjusted here. To me what is the need for anyone else but me, in your life He asked her, Mehek blinked and then pushed his hand away.

"Everyone needs family.

"I will give you one then. You can have a child, anything. I don't want you seeing those people

Mehek felt her face turn white.

"How can you suggest that? She asked him, hitting his arm as hard as she could.

"What is so wrong about having my child?

"A child should not be born into world where he is just used as a tool to keep his mother glued to your side. God Shaurya what is wrong with you?

"I don't care what you think about me, All I care about is keeping you away from those leeches

"Don't speak about them like that

They went back to India later that week. Shaurya was insanely busy. He had not touched her at all after, their last fight. Mehek could not help but miss spending time with him and bickering about silly things. She walked around his garden, touching the bright petals and smiling at them. Shaurya would be angry she had gone outside, without telling him. But surely, he would understand.

She heard the sound of someone clearing their throat turned around. A young guy about 25 stood watching her.

"Hi Bhabi He said looking at her with widened eyes. So, this was Shaurya's brother, Mehek noted. She smiled politely.

"Hi Mehek greeted unsure how to behave with him. Shaurya had never mentioned he had family. She waited for him to speak but he did not. He just looked at her wide eyed.

"Shaurya did not tell me you were coming over today Mehek said finally, He smiled at her, a snake like smile and looked at the main house.

"That is my bhaiya always hiding stuff He said laughing, He kept looking at the main house, and Mehek did not want to take him inside, so pretended to be interested in the water by the fountain.

"I heard bhaiya had some really bad problems with a few contracts He said falling into the step beside her, Mehek took a step away from him and looked at the sky.

"I don't really follow the news Mehek said absently. He looked at her weirdly then at the house again.

"Won't you invite me in?

"No, I have to be going Mehek lied, he held her wrist.

"What the hell are you doing. How dare you touch me!

"My lovely Bhabi, don't shout nobody can hear you. I think it is time we grew more acquainted
