Chapter Five

It's a new and fresh morning. Taani wakes up from her sleep but is still in her morning blues. The loud ringtone of her phone makes her come out of her blues. Seeing the name she immediately picks up the phone.

"Hey Sharon, Good Morning!" Taani says on the phone.

"Good Morning Taani! I hope I didn't disturb your sleep" says Sharon.

"No no not at all. Abhi just uthi hu. Tum batao, itni subah call kiya?" asks Taani.

"Mujhe laga tum shayad bhool jaogi ki aaj college jaldi aana hai" says Sharon.

"Don't worry mein jaldi aa jaungi." Saying this she disconnected the call.

Taani went in the washroom to freshen up.

"Oye Kumbhkaran, get up! Teri wajah se aaj meri jogging bhi miss ho rahi hai aur tu hai ki! Get up dude!" says Rey angrily to Swayam who was busy watching Sharon in his dreams.

"Rey sone de na yaar!" says Swayam irritatingly.

"Hi Beautiful, tum aa bhi gayi!" says Rey.

"Sharon!" saying this Swayam springs up.

"Sharon ka naam lete hi uth gaya! Majnu! Now come on get ready fast!" says Rey.

"Teri jogging hi miss hui hai na! Itna kyu gussa kar raha hai?" asks Swayam.

"Aaj saari girls kitni disappoint hone wali hai. Just because of you!" says Rey in a dramatic way.

"Tum dono uth gaye. No wonder itna shor ho raha tha!" says their mom entering the room.

"Morning mom!" both wish her.

"Swayam you go and freshen up aur Rey tum breakfast karlo, aaj tumhare favorite Aalu ke Paranthe hai for breakfast." Saying this she left the room with Rey following her.

"Mom breakfast!" Rey shouts.

His mom comes out of the kitchen and places a raw potato in his plate.

"Yeh kya hai?" he asks confusingly.

"Aalu!" she continues while Rey just blankly stares at her,"Yeh lo aur khud hi bana do!"

"Mom not fair!" Rey says like a small child.

"Kal tumhi ne toh kaha tha ki breakfast nahi karne wale tum sab. Toh mein kyu mehnat karti!" she says and giggles.

Soon Swayam comes and both brothers leave for college. They also pick up Sharon. Taani too leaves her house. She sits in her car and finds out that there is some battery problem because of which her car won't work. She comes on the highway to look for a cab. Rey's car was on the same way. He sees Taani waiting for a cab and halts his car near her.

"Hey Taani, hop in!" he says.

Taani enters in.

"Even you guys are late?" she asks.

"Ya, all because of Swayam! Anyways what happened to your car?" Rey asked her.

"You know I have a car?" she asks amused.

"Yes! Tum kal apne car se hi toh ghar gayi thi!" he reminds her.

"Oh! Vo actually car ki battery low ho gayi hai!" she answered.

"Swayam, tumhe hum teeno se hi baat karni hai na, toh hum college nahi but kisi aur jagah jaaye?" asks Sharon.

"Brilliant idea Sharon!" says Rey and changes the route and starts driving towards the park.

"Hum kaha ja rahe hai?" asks Taani.

"Park! Iska record banane!" answers Swayam.

"Shut up dude!" snaps Rey.

Soon the four of them enter the park. All people present start drooling over them, the girls on Rey and Swayam and the boys on Taani and Sharon. They walk a few distance to find a place to sit.

"You are late today!" a girl says with a cute angry pout on her face.

"Sorry" says Rey holding his ears.

"Khushi ko aapse baat nahi karni!" saying this she shows a more angry face to Rey.

"Atcha toh theek hai. Khushi ke liye jo mein chocolates laya tha vo mein kisi aur ko de dunga" says Rey.

"Nahi!" continues Khushi, "Iss baar maaf kar rahi hu, but agli baar se nahi karungi" and grabs the chocolate from his hand.

"Waise kal tum kaha thi?" asks Rey.

"Khushi ko na fever tha toh kal vo school nahi gayi" she replies innocently.

"Medicine li na?" Rey asked worried.

"Haan Rey bhaiya!" says Khushi and then she spots Swayam.

"Aap toh same to same Rey bhaiya jaise dikhte ho" she says going towards Swayam.

"Same to same kahan, dekho uski hairstyle kitni alag hai"says Rey.

"Rey bhaiya yeh aapke" thinks for the word, "haan! Yeh aapke Twin brother hai?" she asks.

"Haan" He replies impressed by her knowledge of the word.

"Bhaiya mujhe na school ke liye late ho raha hai" Khushi continues, "Bhaiya ke friends mein na aap sabse baadme milungi. Bye" she gives a peck on Rey's cheek and goes running outside the park.

Taani was too amused seeing the whole scene. Somewhere down her heart she had started respecting Rey. She had a feeling that Rey is not what he portrays himself to be. Swayam breaks her thoughts.

"Toh yeh reason hai yahan aane ka, seedhe bolne mein takleef hoti hai?" says Swayam.

"Oh come on Swayam, you know him na!" says Sharon.

"Don't demand for the story right now. Pehle Swayam tujhe jo baat karni hai vo khatam karte hai" says Rey rubbing his stomach.

"Isse bhi pehle at least coffee lete hai" says Taani.

"Yahan kahan milegi coffee?" asks Rey.

"Chalo" she says and moves towards a bungalow just opposite to the park.

"Yeh coffee shop hai?" Rey asked.

"Yeh mera ghar hai!" she replied opening the door and let them in.

"Nice house Taani" says Sharon.

"Yeh sab chodo jaldi kuch khane do. Bohot bhook lagi hai" says Rey sitting on the sofa.

"Ghar mein jyada kuch nahi hai. Umm Maggi chalegi?" asksTaani.

"Sure" they reply.

"And tea or coffee?" she asks.

"Sharon and I will have tea and Swayam coffee" replied Rey.

"Kaka two tea, two coffee and four plates maggi please" she tells her servant.

"Even you like coffee?" asks Rey.

"Ya. Anyways Swayam tumhe kaunsi important baat karni thi?" she asks.

"This year again our college is taking part in inter-college dance competition. Duet and solo male is decided, but Principal sir chahate hai ki hum koi female dancer bhi dhunde who can take part in solo female." says Swayam.

"Princi jo jaake bol being greedy is not good" said Rey and he and Sharon burst out laughing.

"Being greedy?" asked Taani confusingly.

"Duet mein Sharon and I aur Solo mein Rey, yeh trophies toh humare college ki hai but sir wants ki solo ki dusri wali trophy bhi humari ho!" says Swayam.

"You guys are dancers?" she asks shockingly.

The three of them nod saying yes.

"I too love dancing. Meine kathak sikha hua hai. Will you guys teach me other forms of dance?" she asks excitingly.

"Solo female ki entry mil gayi!" says Rey looking at Taani.

Taani realizing what he meant, "I'm not a great dancer. Mein kaise participate.." she said.

"What mein kaise n all! You can dance. Aur tum kathak karogi jo aur koi nahi karega so that's a plus point for us!" says Rey.

"But" Taani tries arguing.

"No 'Ifs' and no 'Buts'! You are participating. Its final!"says Sharon.

"Please Taani, maan jao" pleads Swayam.

"Ok. But ek baar mera dance toh dekh lo before submitting my name." Taani says.

"Aaj rehearsal hall mein milna. Khush!" says Rey.

"Arre Rey, tumne bataya nahi yeh Khushi kaun hai?" asks Swayam.

"Khushi se mein ek din park mein mila. Bohot ro rahi thi toh fir meine usse chocolate di. Then slowly hum friends ban gaye. Later I came to know that she is an orphan. So just usse khush karne mein uske liye roz chocolate lata hun." Explained Rey.

"She is really sweet" said Taani to him and then whispered to herself, "And also you."

The four of them had breakfast and left for college.
