Chapter 14

——————At Hardik’s house————

Shiva Pandya had always been someone who was known for his anger, for being bold, for speaking out his mind. But today, he was nervous. Nervous, thinking about going to Hardik Bhai’s house. Nervous about meeting his Chipkali. He wasn’t fully sure how he was gonna handle seeing Raavi practice dance with another guy. But he knew he had to go there, to ensure he wouldn’t go crazy worrying about her in the dukaan. Finally, taking an extra couple of deep breaths, gathering up all the courage he had, he made his way into the entrance of Hardik Bhai’s house, holding onto the bag which had the dhoklas that Dhara Bhabhi had sent for Raavi, like he was holding on for his life.

A couple of steps in and he was greeted with one of the most prettiest sights he had ever see, his Chipkali, twirling around to the sound of some soothing music, in her long flowy dress. Her eyes were twinkling with excitement, her navy blue dress complimenting her well. A instant smile appeared on his face and sent him into a trance, making him forget about all his nervousness.

His trance was broken by the guy, whom he had come to keep an eye on. Sameer.

"Hey Shiva!" called out Sameer, causing his Chipkali to stop her twirling midway, only to look at him in suspicion.

He greeted Sameer cordially and made his way towards Raavi, who was clearly trying to figure out what was he doing here and held out the bag to her, "Woh Dhara Bhabhi ne tere liye Dhokla bheja hai, toh wahi dene aaya tha".

She took it from him and muttered a thanks and went to the kitchen to keep it. He made an excuse to Sameer and followed Raavi into the kitchen.

"Woh… unhone bola ki agar tera kabhi bhi kuch aur khaane ka mann ho toh unse keh do" said Shiva, entering the kitchen, startling her.

She just nodded to him, indicating she will. He continues to stand there, looking at her while she raises her eyebrows asking him what is he doing.

"Kuch aur bhi kehna tha?" asked Raavi, confused as to why is he not on his way out.

"Nahi toh" said Shiva nonchalantly.

"Phir?" she said, all the more confused.

"Woh Krish ko mera thoda help chahiye tha, woh bhi abhi adha ek ghante mein aa jaayega, Maine socha main uska idhar hi wait karloon" said Shiva, hoping she won’t suspect him.

Her eyes widened at the thought of Shiva staying here and she exclaimed "Toh tu yahan rahega?"

"Haan, kyun?" said Shiva, giving her a questioning look.

"Hum log rehearsal karenge" stated Raavi.

"Haan, mujhe pata hai, aur kis ke liye woh gadhe—, mera matlab hai Sameer yahan pe hoga" retorted Shiva, annoyed.

"Tu humein rehearse karte hue dekhega" questioned Raavi, evidently nervous about the thought.

"Kyun, tujhe mere saamne rehearse karne mein darr lagta hai" challenged Shiva, picking up on her nervousness, taking a step closer to her.

Suddenly, he was confident that Raavi won’t be able to get him to leave as she seemed flustered by his presence.

"Nahi…nahi toh, main kyun daroongi" stuttered Raavi, while she took a step back from him.

"Phir?" he said, advancing towards her.

"Sameer, ko awkward ho jaayega" said Raavi, stepping away.

"Sameer ko? Usse awkward kyun hoga?" said Shiva and continued,

"Main usse pooch leta hoon, mujhe nahi lagta usse problem hoga" shouting out to call him, when Raavi pulls him by his arm and holds her hand over his mouth to stop him and they share an eyelock.

Realising their position, Raavi steps back from him and says,

"Dekh Shiva, mujhe tang mat kar, aur chup chaap jaa yahan se, Krish se milne baad mein aajana" said Raavi trying her best to sound authoritative and clearly offending Shiva.

"Ab toh main kahin nahi jaa raha hoon, yahin baithke tere sarr pe naachunga, tujhe jo karna hai kar" said Shiva, walking out and taking a seat on the sofa in the aangan, giving her challenging look.

Raavi wondered what happened to him suddenly and why was he hellbent on not leaving her alone.

Dismissing the thought, she went out only to find him sitting on the sofa with an angry look on his face, pretending to surf through his phone.

"Raavi, continue karein?" said Sameer.

She nodded her head in agreement and took her position while he played the music. Both of them were dancing, trying to match up their energy levels with each other, but Raavi’s eyes kept flickering over to Shiva, who was now completely focused on their dancing, looking at them intently, following his gaze upon them as they waltzed around.

Sameer unexpectedly twirled her around, causing her to lose her balance and fall down. Before she could react, Shiva was now by her side, looking at her panicked.

"Chipkali, tujhe zyaada lagi toh nahi" he said holding her closely in his arms, checking her arms and feet. He spotted some of the mild bruises on her feet and his temper was suddenly raised.

"Ehh gadhede, theek se dance nahi kar sakte, dekh usko lag gayi" he shouted glaring at Sameer, like he would beat me up.

"I am so sorry, woh maine jaan bhuj ke nahi kiya" said Sameer taking a step back, clearly scared by seeing this side of Shiva.

Shiva picked her up in his arms and made her settle down on the sofa while Sameer went to fetch out the first aid kit. Sameer came back with the ointment to apply and Shiva snatched it from his hands and started applying it on her feet. She hissed at his touch, making him flinch and also he could feel his anger bubbling up. Raavi looked at Shiva, who was trying to take a few breaths, as if he is trying to calm himself down and asked her "Tu theek hai?", his eyes which were full of anger until now were replaced by worry for her.

"Main theek hoon, zyaada dard bhi nahi ho raha" said Raavi, trying to get up.

"Ehh gadhedi, yeh tu—" he started shouting and then said softly, "Tu kya kar rahi hai?", holding her by the shoulders and pushing her back to the sofa, to rest.

"Main theek hoon" assured Raavi.

"Tu meri baat, sun le, agar tu yahan se uthi, toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga" threatened Shiva, pointing his finger at her.

"Aise dhamki de ke tu apni fikar dikhaayega?" asked Raavi, in a flow clearly making Shiva suddenly, be on an edge.

"Woh…woh..main..Raavi" said Shiva, only to be interrupted by Sameer, who said "Raavi, tujhe rest karna chahiye, hum kal parso, depending on tere pair, decide kar lenge, agla rehearsal, waise bhi most of it, toh ho gaya hai", looking at Shiva nervously, who was still glaring at him angrily.

Scared that if he continued to stay there, Shiva might eat him alive, he mumbled a "take care" to Raavi and scurried out of the house.

"Bechaara ko daraya kyun?" asked Raavi, annoyed.

"Bechara?" said Shiva, irritated that Raavi was taking Sameer’s side, "Yeh jo tujhe chot lagi hai, uske wajah se hai, agar tujhe zor se lag jaati toh, usse toh main—" bringing a fist up to indicate that he would’ve punched him.

"Oye gunda boy, zyaada na hero mat ban, usse galti se hua, jaan bhuj ke thodi na kiya uss ne" said Raavi sensibly, agitating Shiva even more.

"Usse kya farak padta hai, chot toh lagi na tujhe" said Shiva rudely.

Raavi, turned her face away, in annoyance to Shiva, muttering, "ek toh chot bhi mujhe lagi, upar se daant bhi mujhe khaani hai, bhoothnath kahinka", when he decided to let it go, for her sake.

"Yeh sab chod, main tere liye masala Chai bana ke leke aata hoon" said Shiva getting up.

"Tu? Masala Chai banayega, chot mere pair pe lagi hai, yaa tere sarr pe" mocked Raavi, giggling at her own joke.

"Hasuu?" said Shiva sarcastically.

"Waise, tujhe masala Chai banani bhi aati hai" asked Raavi, like a curious cat.

"Jabse tu chali gayi hai, ghar se, main masala Chai bana ke peeta hoon, aadat ho gayi thi na tere haath ke peene ki" giving her a sad smile, he cleared his throat and continued, "Waise main tere jitna achha toh nahi banata, but theek tha bana leta hoon, Dhara bhabhi aur Rishita bhabhi bhi kabhi kabhi pee leti hai, mere saath" replied Shiva coolly and made his way to the kitchen, leaving her astonished at this version of her Bhoothnath.

To be continued...
