'Aapko pata hain laat ko uske haath mein lambe lambe baal nikalte hain...mujhe pata hain wo ek golila hain lambe lambe nails wala,' Annu said gesturing with wide eyes and scared face,
'Aisa kuch nehi hain annu, wo insaan hi hain, bas raat ko sota nehi hain,' Sameer replied, pulling her on his lap fondly,
'Ap cholo mujhe, ap mujhse bilkul pyal nehi kalte, wo mujhe kitna tang kalta hain, aul ap mujhe uske pass cholke jaa laheho, ap bohot bule ho,' Annu scolded him and pounced from Sameer's lap to his pillow and hid her face into it,
'Arre meri baat to suno, Annu dekho idhar,' Sameer tried to turn a reluctant and angry Annu,
'Problem kya hain ye to batao? Bas ekdin ki to baat hain, please annu,' Sameer pleaded to her, holding her shoulders which she jerked away, accidentally scratching him at his chin,
Sameer held his chin and Annu turned to look at him instantly. She was scared now. She held her hand up to his cheek when Ayesha shouted from the door alerting the two,
'Annu, kya hain ye saab? Aise baat karte hain apne papa se?' Ayesha barked walking inside with a mug of steaming coffee.
'Ayesha...' Sameer tried to save his daughter again, but Ayesha gave a hard glare which stopped him,
Ayesha kept the coffee on the table and turned to a frowning Annu, looking at her with angry eyes,
'Kya dekh rahi ho aise? Koi baat nehi mani jayegi tumhari. Din ba din batameez hoti ja rahi hoo? Papa se bhi thik se baat karna nehi ata tumhe, ek aur bar aisa kuch bhi dekha to maar khaogi annu. Chup chap jao aur fresh ho jao, mujhe ek aur shabd nehi sunna hain tumse, Jao,' Ayesha ordered her,
A reluctant, scared and tearful annu looked towards Sameer and dropped down from the bed, wiping her flowing tears. She ran to her room without another word, while her parents kept looking at her retreating back.
Ayesha was still looking at the open door, regretting her sudden outburst when she felt an arm around her waist. She slanted her head slightly towards the back when Sameer kept his chin on her shoulder,
'Bura laga?' he asked her softly,
She signed loud and looked down. She was regretting scolding Annu so much. She leaned towards the table and picked up the mug from it, forwarding it to Sameer.
'Sam, Annu bachi hain, pareshan kar degi, we should give it another thought,' she said turning towards him,
Sameer took the mug from her and forwarded it to her lips. She rolled her eyes shaking her head and sipped into it once. Sameer took back the mug and sipped into it, relishing its taste. It was their usual morning greeting. He wrapped his arms around her neck and voiced out,
'Kuch pareshan nehi karegi, trust me, it's the best option,'
'Annu waha halla macha degi, he needs rest, kahi usse..'
'galat Ayesha, he needs a heavy dose of annu, rest' uska kuch acha nehi kar sakti, I know him well, he must be struggling to get ready for work now, ' Sameer laughed taking another sip,
'Annu usse nafrat karti hain Sam,'
'Do you really think that Ayesha?? Then she has to go, wait to see the changed relation tomorrow,' Sameer replied leaning closer to ayesha to sip his coffee again,
'Aur agar dono ko gussa aa gaya to? Mujhe daar hain Sam, annu..' Ayesha pushed him away and started speaking about her concerns,
'kuch nehi hoga, tum meri beti pe bilkul bharosa nehi karti...this isn't right Ayesha, wo samhal legi uss bache ko,' Sam chucked and bit into her neck,
'Sam,' Ayesha glared at him, pushing him with her hands on his chest,
'Haan Ayesha,' he mouthed the word near her lips,
'fresh ho jao, office jana hain, mein kuch breakfast pack kar deti hoo, Annu ke saath de dungi, Sam, choro,' Ayesha pushed him with all her force and sam fell on the bed, spilling the coffee on the floor while the mug bounced on the bed and crashed on the floor,
'Dekha kya kiya, ab khud isse saaf karo, aur annu ko bhi ready karo, dono milke mujhe pagal kar doge, kaise baap beti ho tum log, thora sa bhi mujhpe taras nehi ata...insaan hu ki nehi...' Ayesha walked out muttering to herself while Sameer sat on the bed glaring at the mess on the floor.

Annu walked out of the shower clad in a towel and climbed on the bed trying to look into the mirror on the door of the cupboard. She picked up the frock her mother had kept neatly on the bed and unzipped it. She held the neck line and pulled it down her head. The frock was now hanging down from her neck and she was struggling to locate the sleeve, which was mischievously moving around her neck, sometimes at her back, sometimes in the front and sometimes just hiding itself.
As if her already woven trouble wasn't enough, the zip of her dress was continuously getting hooked to her wet locks and the more she moved her head they were pulling her hair causing her anger to rise another few notches. She was already irritated and angry with her parents and their dangerous proposal and this dress was making it even worse.
She tried to pull out her dress through her neck but again the hook of the dress got stuck into her hair and some fashionable buttons in the front rubbed on her delicate nose. She left everything and sat on the bed with stretched legs, rubbing her nose, with the frock still hanging down her neck with one end of the crumbled dress stuck into her hair. She looked at herself in the mirror and started yelling at the top of her voice.
Sameer was ready and was on his way to her room when he heard her shouting. He rushed inside immediately. He found his daughter sitting on the bed with stretched legs visible below the towel around her waist and crying, pulling the dress which was around her neck. Sameer rushed to her on the bed and held her hands,
'Ruko, Annu?' he asked surprised and scared,
'dost, ye dekho, aisa hi ho laha hain, aul haath bhi kaha chala gaya nehi mil laha,' she groaned showing the button of the dress that was still stuck on her hair,
Sameer smiled and wiped her tears. He removed the button from her curls and helped her with the sleeves too. She wore the dress and he pulled up the zip, straightening the dress. He was about to help her more but now she was pushing him outside the room.
'tum jaao, mujhe help nehi chhaiye,' she told him like a stubborn kid, pushing him away,
'lekin tum kaise...' Sameer kept muttering moving towards the door,
'Tum bule ho, jaao yaha se, mein khud kal lungi,' she shouted and closed the door on his back.
Sameer signed and walked towards the dining table where Ayesha had started laying the food.
