Part 5

Shiva didn’t know about all the details about the bet, so Raavi explained everything from the beginning. When Raavi told Shiva about the winnings, she saw the gleam in his eyes as soon as she mentioned the kangans. She hit him on the arm as a warning. If he backed out hearing about the kangans, she would murder him on spot.

“Tu aisa sochega bhi nahi. Mujhe pata hai tujhe kangan chahiye, par agar tune shaadi ke liye haa ki toh main kisi ko bhi uthake tujhse pehle shaadi kar lungi. Hume maasi aur Dhara di ka pagalpan rokna hai. Unhe barhawa nahi dena.”

Shiva rolled his eyes. “Haa thik hai. Maami se kangan main kisi aur tarah le lunga.”

“Maasi Hardik bhaiyya aur Anita ki shaadi karwane pe tuli hai. Hum kya kare Shiva?”

“Hardik bhaiyya aur uss chudail ki shaadi toh nahi hone dunga.”

“Shiva!” Raavi scolded. “Di hain woh meri. Aur woh bhi pyaar deserve karti hai. Par aise situation se nahi. Main nahi chahti Dhara ki wedding jewellery Maasi ko mile.”

“Main aisa nahi hone dunga.” Shiva said. “Chal hum directly dono ko bol dete hai ki hume shaadi nahi karni. Simple.”

“Shiva, mujhe na tujhpe bharosa nahi hai. Dhara di ne pyaar se kaha ya emotionally blackmail kiya, toh tu usi waqt haa kar dega.”

Shiva didn’t say anything. He knew it was true. There was no way he could say no to his bhabhi. Raavi sprawled on the sofa to think of a plan. Delaying marriage was a temporary solution. She was going to have to think of a permanent solution. How would they get out of this marriage bet?

“Tu bhabhi ko bol de tujhe ladkiyon mein interest nahi hai.” Raavi suddenly blurred out. “Tujhe ladke pasand hai.”

Shiva glared at Raavi. “Tu bol na maami ko tujhe ladkiyon main interest hai. Main kyu bolu?”

Raavi knew her Maasi would go beserk. It was a terrible plan. Dhara di or Maasi, any one of them would die of a heart attack. It would just make things worse. Bad plan.

“Tu brahmachari ban jaa.” Raavi said.

“Ae gadheri, sab mujhe hi kyu karna hai?? Tu ban jaa na!”

“Par tujhe toh shaadi hi nahi karni. Mujhe toh karni hai.” Raavi said.

“Mujhe bhi karni hai kabhi na kabhi. Koi plan nahi hai brahmachaari rehne ka.” Shiva said.

Raavi looked at him in surprise. She had no idea Shiva wanted to marry someday. Her eyebrows furrowed with slight irritation as he said that. Shiva wasn’t interested in girls or in marriage. So what changed now? Raavi glared at him. Her irritate turned into anger.

“Tujhe kyu karni hai shaadi? Pehle toh nahi karni thi? Tu toh kabhi kisi ladki se thik se baat bhi nahi karta. Toh ab kya badal gaya? Koi hai kya teri zindagi mein?”

“Ae maami ki behen ki beti, yeh kya sawaalo ka pahar khada kar diya? Dimag thik hai na tera?”

“Dimaag toh tera kharab hua hai. Yeh shaadi ka khyaal aaya kaha se? Koi hai teri life mein ya bas tere hormones uchhal rahe hai? Sab na thik kehte hai, tum ladko ko bas ek hi cheez chahiye hoti hai. Bas tujhse yeh ummeed nahi thi Shiva. Main kaha sabse lad rahi hu tujhe bachane aur yaha tujhe shaadi karni hai?” Raavi shouted.

“Gadheri tu kaha ki baat kaha ke jaa rahi hai? Mere hormone kaha se aa gaye beech mein? Aur kya bakwaas kar rahi hai? Aur maine kab kaha mujhe abhi shaadi karni hai?” Shiva asked.

“Par karni toh hai! Kyu karni hai?”

“Tujhe meri shaadi se kya problem hai?”

“Problem hai. Tu nahi kar sakta shaadi!” Raavi shouted.

“Toh thik hai. Tu bhi mat kar. Dono brahmachaari ban jate hai. Khush?”

Raavi walked away in annoyance. There was no use talking to this person. Why did she suddenly want to get married and to whom? Raavi realised that he completely avoided the question so she walked back to him. Shiva was annoyed.

“Tujhe kisse shaadi karni hai?” Raavi asked.

“Tujhe isse kya Raavi?” Shiva asked. “Main kisi se bhi shaadi karu. Deepika se karu ya phir Priyanka se?”

“Oh, tujhe lagta hai Deepika Priyanka tujhse shaadi karenge? Tujh jaise kiraane ki dukaan se?” Raavi laughed.

Shiva suddenly grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. “Kyu mujh mein kya problem hai?”

Any other way, and Raavi would’ve retorted. But the way Shiva was staring into her eyes, rendered her speechless. She blushed which was weird because she never blushed when she was with Shiva. But the way he was staring at her was sending a shiver down her spine. Raavi tried to pull away from him, but Shiva pulled her closer and pinned her against the wall. Raavi’s breath came heavy when he caged her body with his arms.

“Bata na kya problem hai mujh mein?” Shiva asked in a whisper. “Kya main badsurat hu?”

Raavi shook her head.

“Toh kya main bura insaan hu?”

Raavi shook her head.

“Tel masalo ki badbu aati hai?”

Raavi nodded. “Par uski aadat par jati hai.”

“Toh problem kya hai?”

Raavi again shook her head.

“Toh main Deepika jaisi ladki deserve nahi karta?” Shiva asked.

“Phir toh main bhi Raveer ko deserve karti hu. Par hume toh Somnath mein hi rehna hai.”

“Agar aisa hain, tab bhi main Somnath ki best ladki deserve karta hu.”

Shiva suddenly realised what he said. Raavi was the self-proclaimed best girl of Somnath. Both of them blushed profusely and moved away from each other. They stood there awkwardly for a minute then Raavi went to the kitchen for aome time. When she came out, Shiva was already ready to go to the store.

“Main dukaan jaa raha hu. Lunch wahi kar lunga.” He said, and left hurriedly.
