Chapter 28
It was around 10 in the night when Arnav finally reached home. The dinner meeting stretched an hour longer than his estimation, and he had now obviously missed the chance to kiss his angels good night for the day much to his irritation, so he directly made his way to his room. Their room actually, where he found his 12 days old beautiful wife laying on the recliner, dressed in a tempting red night dress, engrossed in her accountancy book. She was chewing the back of her pen with her scrumptious lips, oblivious to her husband who was taking in this sight like a parched man looking at an oasis, though it has only been three hours since he had left after ravishing those same lips to his hearts content. She carelessly moved her hand to push back the tendrils of hair that had come on her face, dragging his attention to the slight mark of sindoor on her forehead, that marks her officially as HIS Khushi. Her Suhaag Chuda tinkled due to the hand movement, and the music enveloped his territorial heart in an inexplicable peace. A peace that has seemed to have made a home in his heart nowadays.
He could not help but fondly remember Khushi's biggest indulgence that day. Suhaag Chuda. Apparently Anjali di wore chuda and Khushi being the sister-in-law had performed that ceremony for her, and so she wanted that in her wedding too. How times change, four years back she helped Di with her chuda, and that day Di's daughter stood in her place with a toothy grin and chubby hands to token help Khushi with hers. They had gotten married first in the temple, a simple sindoor and mangalsutra ceremony with the blessings of the Almighty. Then they had come home to a waiting registrar and had signed their marriage papers, along with the adoption application. It had took barely two hours to do all this, but those were the two most important hours of his life. Two hours that made him a husband and a father. Two hours that gave him a new family. Two hours giving him all the rights over three people he loved dearly. The BEST two hours of his life. The two hours where all four of them made a huge foray ahead in life, as everyone's status in life changed too. Khushi Jha became Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada and Adit-Adya became their son and daughter, legally. And he became a family man.
Just then Khushi looked up from her book, with a slow smile lighting up in her eyes, and by the time she reached his waiting arms the smile had brightened and had spread on her face as well.
'When did you come?' she asked while enveloping his strong frame in her dainty arms.
'Just now' he said burying his face into the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.
'How did the meeting go?' she followed the suit by burying her face between his neck and shoulder.
'Ummm' was the reply she got as her husband got busy in other important things at hand that very second.
They were still full time parents and best friends by the day post marriage. The family structure had stayed the same, the routine stayed the same. Only thing that changed was their nights, which had become incredibly passionate and steamy. Arnav does not seem to be capable of keeping his hands off his new bride. And Khushi can't learn enough from her sexy husband. He was a good teacher, and she was a brilliant student. Together both of them explored the heaven of pleasures under the starry nights, and expressed their love to each other in every physical way possible. If it was all new to her, it was all very different to him for the very first time. Passion he knew, but the pleasure that feeling of love added to it was a discovery for him. Knowing that he was making love to someone he actually loved made a world of difference.
And right now, Khushi was pinned under Arnav who was caressing her, biting sucking and kissing her, eliciting sensuous moans from his helplessly aroused wife. If his lips were seducing her face, his hand were creating havoc on the sensitive body below it. Khushi's combustive responsiveness to his touches drove him mad every single time. She was made to be his in every sense, in bedroom as well. She could sense the difference in his touches and her body reacted to them accordingly much to the contentment of his body, which seemed to have developed a mind of its own after tasting her. Khushi knowingly or unknowingly reciprocated to his all-encompassing passion in equal measure, every time, every gesture. And the way she shuddered in his arms, the way she returned his kisses, the way she tried to hide herself in his frame at times when she could not understand her own overwhelming carnal desires and the way she could not stop chanting his name while getting driven over the edge gave him a crazy sense of possessiveness, a maddening sense power over her. Khushi Singh Raizada was the only woman who could create this amalgamation of physical and mental pleasure for her husband in this whole world. She made him fall in love with her more again and again, night after night.
The books left forgotten on the recliner and their clothes found refuge in whichever corner they were thrown into, as Arnav showed his wife how much he missed her in last three hours, in last three years, in the last three decades of his life.
The marriage had infused his life with magical glitters. He loved coming back home everyday to his wife. He could not help but feel proud when his kids called him Paa now. His family was complete and his world was beautiful. Never had he before thought that a family life could be this fulfilling. He was looking for happiness in all the wrong places all his life, that is until Khushi came along. How can one person change your life in such a lovely manner, he mused while having his breakfast and observing his wife and daughter sitting in front of him.
Adya had developed a strange fascination with Khushi's mangalsutra. The black beads and shiny pendent were her new toys. Tugging at it, playing with it or trying to chew it while in her arms or lap was a constant thing. And Khushi was having a hard time right now feeding her breakfast and trying to wrestle out the jewelry from her mouth simultaneously.
'Arnav, your daughter is fascinated with managlsutra. You'll have to find a groom for her as soon as she grows up so that he can give her one of her own' she said exasperated to her husband who sitting in the next chair.
And just like that Arnav Singh Raizada's peace of mind got disturbed.
'WHAT? Are you freaking kidding me? She is not getting married 'as soon as she grows up'. Okay?' he spat.
He has got his family just a few days back, and his wife was making plans to marry their daughter off. How could she? No one is going anywhere. Adya will not date let alone marry until he permits. He'll have to make sure that Adit learns to be a protective brother, for he cannot guard his daughter 24X7. In fact he'll find a guy who will marry her and come to live with them, he instantly decided.
'Calm down Arnav. I was joking. She is just two' Khushi tried to pacify the anxious father in him.
'Exactly. She is just two. Stop putting ideas in her mind' he glared.
'God Arnav. You are impossible' she suppressed a smile at her husband's weird reactions.
When Arnav entered their home, he met with an impossibly cute and angry looking Khushi waiting for him in the living area. 'There goes the welcome kiss of the day' he sighed as he looked at the papers she was holding in her hand. He had them delivered home some time back, in case Khushi changes her mind.
'What is this Arnav?' she charged as soon as she saw him.
'Applications for play school admission' he calmly replied.
'I thought I made myself absolutely clear on this when we had discussed this' she fumed.
'But sweetheart this is the best playschool in the city' he tried to reason.
'Which is across the city. Where I can not go at a five minutes notice. Where my babies will have to commute one hour daily' she said trying to stop her eyes from welling up.
'But good education is also important naa jaan' he tried to turn on the charm.
'Good Education? Are you freaking serious? This is just play school. They PLAY there. Its not their university selection' she retorted.
'They have to stop clinging to you all day and have to learn staying without you' he tried to make her see the practicality.
'And they HAVE TO start doing it when they are only two, is it?' she was not falling for any of it.
In between that argument, Savita brought a bawling Adit to Khushi claiming that he wanted to go to her. Khushi extended her arms to take him, but on second thoughts dropped them back and looked at Arnav.
'Give him to Sahab. He is eager to teach them how to stay without me' she glared and made her way out of the room, but not before dropping the papers noisily on the table. She paused at the door for a second then turned 'And Adya will be ready to get married AS SOON AS she grows up after you are done teaching them, right?' she said with her eyes conveying the hidden meaning.
That was a clean sweep. Arnav knew that very moment that this was a lost battle. 'Dammit! Women. Remembering things at the most inappropriate times'. He found himself signing the admission forms of the play school Khushi had selected after two hours while she was giggling and playing with a happy Adit in her arms a few feet away.
As Khushi came into the room and hugged Arnav from behind, he turned a little, smiled and placed his hands over hers on his chest while continuing to talk over the phone. When he disconnected, he turned completely and hugged Khushi while kissing her on the forehead.
'Adit Adya slept?' he enquired.
'Yeah' she nuzzled his chest.
'Khush, stop this. We are going to solve your problems today. Get changed and bring your books to the pool' he sternly ordered. His innocent wife was so hard to resist as it is, and a willing one was an out of control temptation. But her exams were approaching and everything else has to wait, he sighed.
'Okay' she reluctantly moved away, but did plant a long kiss on his chest before parting, making him smile.
'Khush, I'll have to goto Alwar tomorrow' he informed while they were wrapping up their study session.
'Oh. For how many days?' her face fell.
'Just a day trip. I'll take the chopper. It'll be like going to office in morning and coming back in the evening' he smiled.
'Is it important to go?' she looked at him hoping he says no.
'Yes sweetheart. Else do you think I would have gone out of station just 20 days after the wedding?' he replied. He cannot possibly tell her that he HAS to finalize this land deal now, so that he can clear his schedule for their surprise honeymoon cum vacation.
'You going alone?' she questioned.
'No. My whole legal team will be with me. And Aman' he supplied.
She nodded and gave him a weak smile.
'Akash is also going' he added as an after thought, looking at her keenly.
'Let's sleep' she suddenly got up, killing the conversation then and there.
Later that night while Khushi slept in her husband's arms, her face buried in his chest, Arnav laid awake thinking about none other than Akash Roy. Khushi had stopped talking about her dear friend all of a sudden after that dinner at his place. He had also noticed the absolute absence of Akash's visits or phone calls these days. Not that he was complaining, on the contrary he was happy. But now that he thinks of it, it did strike him as odd when he had himself offered to invite Akash as a witness to sign their marriage certificate and Khushi flatly refused. He was too lost in his new found love, their confession and wedding to pay any attention to this that time. But today when he mentioned Akash, specifically and intentionally, Khushi's reaction sprouted questions in his mind. She was deliberately blocking Akash Roy from her life. Why? Did she figure out that he did not like Akash's presence in her life, or was it something else? Did he misbehave with her or something? Or did he propose to her and now both friends are awkward? Does Akash know about their marriage? Not likely looking at his behavior in office. Wasn't that the dinner night when Khushi mentioned people questioning her upbringing? Is there a connection? Could that be the reason Khushi is avoiding him? Whatever it was, there was something wrong between these 'friends'. Jumping to conclusions about her friend without evidence was not a good idea and Khushi was only too fair to tell on anyone.
Well, he'll have to fish it out of her somehow for it's his job to handle things that bother his wife. And Akash Roy better not be a botheration in her life.

you quite very intelligently skipped full Marriage details still including some of the main ones like Chuda & Registration formalities. Loved how you have pointed Arnav's journey from being with Family to Alone & finally with his Marriage.. on his Marriage day itself he became FAMILY MAN. Enjoyed their fight over Adya getting married & Adit going to school at hour distance. Marriages comes with fights. it's unavoidable. finally.. you brought Akash Roy.. we can't forget him.. can we? like Arnav said.. we have to address what is bothering Khushi.
