Chapter 4
QAS 3
It has been a few days since he started helping her after lunch and she felt it was not so bad with his occasional mean comments and taunts, a lot of times she was struck in simple things and every evening he would send her a file containing notes and sample programs to run.
The saying that people good in certain areas were certainly good in whatever they did, he was a good teacher though not everyone’s tea.
She smiled to herself as she pushed her slim cell phone in her jeans pocket and made her way to the restaurant. Her Aai and baba were coming to meet her and since they had to visit someone so they planned this real short visit to her.
“aaho, there she is, our Pallu…” her aai said excitedly and left her seat to hug her.
“Aai…” she hugged her and went to her father. “Baba…how are you two.”
“What happened to you, aren’t you eating properly Pallu?.” the scrutinising eyes of mothers always found their kid's health deteriorating so she shared a small knowing smile with her father on that topic.
Soon they indulged in the normal talks and their talks shifted to all the topics they could.
“so what are thinking beta after you finish the course…” knowing very well Pallavi’s difficulty in coding her father asked her.
“you are Impossible Vijay ji, we are here to meet her after some three months and you started her future plans…” Sharda scoffed at her husband.
“it's okay Aai . and Baba, I am trying to work on my coding skills there is this guy in our batch he is helping me… he is so good in it though he is a little impossible just like you.” she smiled teasingly and kept telling them about him.
Unknown to her her mother has started noticing the glow that covered her face when she talked about this certain guy her daughter insisted was a great tutor.
“so what did you say, he is in the same batch…hmmm.” her father heard all her sense and non-sense from the time she was a small girl and here also he kept hearing her talks with occasional Yes, No and WH words enquiry when needed.
After two coffees and an early dinner, they decided to leave her to her hostel and go wait at the station for their train.
Stuffing the bag of homemade goodies inside her bag and a few other things her mother kissed her forehead as they left the restaurant.
“Please come home for a day or two Pallu…” Sharda whispered to her when her father went to look for a taxi or something.
“All of us miss you.”
“You know Aai I can't come, to come home I need at least a week, one or two days end in stretching and yawning only.” she joked and politely denied her mother’s request.
“Whatever you say…ok take care of you and keep eating na, why do you stop eating Pallu, late-night study doesn't help…” the usual set of warnings started by her mother and she nodded to every one of them with a pout.
“ok listen, share the laddus with your friend as well,” her mother whispered the words as if she was saying something awful.
“i always do Aai and anyway your laddus are hit with Apoorva.” she kept away a stray hair strand behind her ear.
“Paagal…” Sharda mumbled on her daughter’s innocence.
“with your guy friend… I mean he seems a nice guy to give you his time.” her mother put the words in a sentence with difficulty wary about some other meaning being taken by her daughter.
“Oh, you meant Raghav…cant say,” she scrunched her nose on his name.
“why this Raghav Guy is an alien, he doesn't eat sweets?” Sharda was always a friend of her daughter and such banters were common between them.
“who knows…
Pallavi was about to say something when she heard some voices and one of them was her baba’s.
“Pallu, what is happening?” Sharda asked Pallavi and together they walked to the area they believed her father has gone.

He hated when people from his locality bumped him in this city, he was calm and silent but the moment one such known man or woman came to him and he saw a kind of pity in their eyes he lost it all.
The so-called Raghunath uncle, one of his father’s friend happened to be one such person and Raghav hated when people didn’t understand that he was ignoring them if they called and he pretended he didn’t hear them.
He was on his way to get something for him when he saw this man on the same corner of the road and he immediately tried to go another way but this man had to stop him for some kind of school lecture everyone wanted him to hear.
He might have left the home but home always accompanied him everywhere.
“You are so tall Raghav, just like your father, he was a handsome man back then…” the man commented after formalities and the words hit back with another bout of flashbacks he had suffered just a few days back.
“i am sure he was… but Uncle I have to complete something in an hour, i need to go.” he tried desperately to untangle himself from the man but people loved troubling him or so he thought.
“but looks like you were making way to the liquor shop… Guys nowadays…thought you might have changed after the accident…
Raghav’s blood burnt on the personal comment and his fist curled and uncurled in response.
“i think I am getting late.” his words were controlled just like he controlled his anger.
But the man was in full mood to teach him a lesson and he kept going on.
“I’ll talk to your mother about it… he could not complete the sentence as the next moment Raghav’s strong grip on his collar caught him off guard.
“did I tell you to mind my business, or did my mother ask you to keep an eye on me…I am sure neither things happen so I am warning you don’t start something you won't be alive to end.” Raghav’s eyes bore into his and this was one of the firsts of his strong reaction he knew his mother won't appreciate but at this moment the anger overpowered him.
“What kind of a guy you are to hurt an elderly man.” someone pulled him away from the man he was gripping in his hands and in another moment a tight slap followed on one of his cheeks.
His cheek burnt with the tight slap and he looked in front of him to find another elderly man who eyed him disgustingly.
“aye, Sanki budhhe , mind your own business,” he warned another set of cracked head standing in front of him.
“wow, it is very much visible with your actions what kind of a background you belong to…” the other man nearly spat on his character and background and he lost it again.
“ye tumhare generation ka dikat hai kya, tum apne kam se kam nahi rakh sakta…haan” he asked both the men and his fury reached another level when he saw the other man hunching his shoulders as if he didn’t care.
“Go home otherwise your family would worry about you, got it.” he eyed the old man unaware of two sets of eyes who had just joined the scene.
“Guys like you are the scum for the society…” Vijay told him in an attempt to leave the scene but it didn’t go well with Raghav and he grabbed him.
“aye Sanki buddhe, don’t tell things you are going to regret later.”
“How could you say something to my Baba.” a voice familiar to him warned him and his grip loosened on the old man.
He saw Pallavi along with an elderly lady making way to them.
“Pallu, don’t go beta, your baba would manage.” Sharda tried to stop her daughter but she didn’t know no one could stop this beast of a man when he grabbed his true fangs.
“Are you like this with every elderly man you meet?” she asked him coming to her father‘s rescue.
“don't talk with such guys Pallavi, lets go… these are not the kind of guys one should talk with.” Her father tried to pull her as if to safeguard her from the mad man standing in front of them.
“haan haan, take away this sanki buddha otherwise he would be killed right here , right now,” Raghav called behind them and it cracked Pallavi.
She let go of her father’s arm and swiftly walked to him,
“i don’t know what happened here but you have crossed your limits.”
With that, she walked back to her parents and left from there leaving him with his frustrated anger.
The people around them started scattering the moment everyone left the scene and he grabbed his bike and made way to the one place he found some kind of peace.
The Bar on the other side of the city.
