Sai: mera dil todne ki vajah aap bataana chahte hai to bata dijiye kyunki iske baad mai aapko dobara kabhi nahi milne wali... Aur galti se agar hum takra bhi gaye na to please mere side se aise nikal jaaiyega jaise mujhe jaante nahi, mai bhi aisa hi karungi kyunki is Virat Chavan ko to mai nahi jaanti...

Still Virat Chavan doesn't open his mouth...

Shivani: hairaani ho rahi hogi na Veeru, hai na...kya laga tujhe ki Sai kone me bethkar royegi...zindagi bhar Tera wait karegi (sahi waqt)...agar sai se faasla nahi karna tha to Shruti se shaadi ka faisla nahi karna chahiye tha...

Still Virat's mouth is shut...

Sai: Virat sir, please sign kariye...agar koi objection ho to bataaiye nahi to please sign it fast...

Still Virat doesn't...

Virat: meri ek shart hai...tum pehle sign karogi...

Sai: apni zindagi me ehmiyat dete waqt mujhe sabse peeche rakha aur rishta todne ka waqt aaya to mere peeche khade hona chahte hai?

Agar aap ye chahte hai ki pehle sign mai Karu to theek hai mai aapki ye ichchha bhi poori kar deti hu...

And then they sign with family as witness... Proceedings are done, divorce is granted...

Now SaiRat are Sai and Virat...two individuals who make it a point to never meet again...

5 years have passed...sai is an MS student in gynaecology, living in Mumbai, while Virat has been transferred to maoist afflicted GC and vidarbha region, as a punishment posting for whatever he has pulled. Sai is fully focused on studies and her goal...she misses family but has found a family in friends, colleagues, patients...the warmth is missing but that warmth is provided to her by her books...her dreams...her ambition...she stands tall, fragile from inside but tough from outside...

Virat is in guilt of what happened... Chavan family doesn't want to contact him, he doesn't want to contact sai...she didn't feel he was trustworthy when he needed her the most, so he made it a point to not see her.

Sai travels by local trains, through the years, she got acclimatized to it and her companion usually is Sandhya in her commute and most of the other things... taking difficult decisions, sharing happiness..aniket and her are Sai's backbone...Sandhya is also her housemate.

Virat happens to come to Mumbai for some official document work...he remembers sai wanting to visit Siddhivinayak temple and her wish to travel by local train...he takes a train and coincidentally it's the same station where Sai takes train back home after long day at work...

Sandhya: aaj bohot tiring day tha na sai...

Sai lost in something...ha..

Sandhya looks at her...thak gayi lagta hai... Yaha se bahar ek achha coffee shop hai, vaha coffee peeyenge, phir Ghar jaayenge, okay?

Sai: hmm...

Sai just walking in trance...unusual of alert sai to do that...she is about to bump into someone when Sandhya pulls her and shakes her out, reminding her that they are in crowded public place and that people may object if she keeps bumping like that...Sai starts searching for her train ticket from her bag when someone just comes in a hurry and bumps into her, her bag falls and things scattered out of the bag...quite a situation to manage in a crowded station...sai feels some connection with him...

Raaste me jo Milo to 

haath milaane ruk jaana...

Sandhya: oh hello! Dikhta nahi hai kya...

Sai: chhod na...

And the man turns listening to her voice...

Sandhya looking agitated, sees him while Sai is busy in keeping her stuff back...

Sandhya (shocked): Virat sir... (Sandhya knows him...she is one of the friends of Sai from MBBS times)...

Virat looks at them...he spots sai, sai looks at him for a second then remembers her dialogue of if they ever met, they will pretend of not knowing each other...

Saath me koi ho tumhare...

Door se hi tum muskaana...

And Virat smiles looking at her.. meeting in such different circumstances... knowing why sai is behaving like she did..the same jhalli sai...

Lekin muskaan ho aisi...

Ke jisme ikraar nahi

Virat (involuntarily): sai?

And Sai looks at him...have a brief eyelock.. before their eyes spoke she breaks the eye contact...

Nazron se na karna tum bayaan

Woh jis'se inkaar nahi

Maana ke hum yaar nahi...

Sai: Sandhya, chale? Der ho chuki hai...(hurt in her voice)

And they leave...

Virat keeps standing there... everything flashing in front of him...

Phool jo band hai panno mein

Tum usko dhool bana dena

Sai literally running to be far from him and his gaze...Sandhya knowing the sense of urgency in Sai...Sai's heartbeat really fast, she is hyperventilating...

Sandhya: theek hai na?

Sai: ha, mujhe kya hua?

Sandhya: Virat sir...

Sai places the index finger of her right hand over her lips gesturing Sandhya not to say anything...

Baat chhide jo meri kahin

Tum usko bhool bataa dena

Lekin wo bhool ho aisi

Jis'se bezaar nahin 

Sandhya: theek hai sai ..coffee to pee hi sakte hai...

Sai: nahi Sandhya...bohot thak gayi hu...phir kabhi...ghar chale?...

Sandhya: okay....ghar par coffee ki zimmedaari meri

And then they leave...

Reach home...

Sandhya: jaa sai...freshen up...I'll get you a coffee...sandy special...

Sai (involuntarily): I'll have a green tea...

Sai realises the return of Green tea after 5 years...with the return of someone...

Sai, mentally slapping herself: sandy...I guess I'll have a coffee only...

Sandhya: Dr. Sai Joshi...kya hua hai tujhe? This is not some life saving decision that you are so confused...

Sai: nahi aisa kuch nahi hai...vo mai bohot thak gayi hu...coffee would be better...it would have been much better had we got some food packed...koi baat nahi...aaj sai Joshi the chef is on your service...kya khaayengi...

Sandhya gets her coffee... Hmm, something light...the weather is also rainy...chal garam garam Maggi khaate hai...yummm...

Sai again taken back to the date night in Mahabaleshwar... Maggi and chai... Tears start falling from her eyes...

Sandhya: koi nahi jaane Diya... agar tujhe nahi banaana to mat bana par ro to mat...

Sai realises her tears, wipes them, resolves to overlap those memories with new ones...

Sai: aisa kuch nahi hai...coffee pee le, then I'll get you the world class Maggi ...

They enjoy their coffee, after that Maggi, when sai retires to her room... She remembers that glimpse of Virat... studies a bit with that glimpse flashing in front of her constantly... Then goes to lie down...

Tu jo soye toh meri tarah

Ik pal ko bhi karaar nahin

Maana ki hum yaar nahi...

Just then her Google photos send her a reminder from 6 years ago...her result day when everything went upside down...

Kisi daraaz ke kone mein

Teri tasveer mili hai

Phir wohi kaanton ka safar

Wahi phoolon ki gali

Wahi phoolon ki gali

She wipes her tears...switches on her playlist...

Maana ke hum yaar nahi....
