Chapter 21
[NOCOPY]Heyyyy Ghum fandom,
I am surprised to see that you guys actually liked the previous chapter.
Yeh humesha hota hai. Every time I feel like the chapter is crap you people like it and every time I think I have written something nice you feel otherwise.
Anyways, thank you so much for the lovely comments.
The second part of Luna with the Chavans is here with lots of Pakhi's beizzati and a little bit of SaiRat. Hope as usual you will enjoy reading it. See you in the next chapter.
Sai provided all the things Luna needed to make the tea and coffee and watched her work.
« You and Samrat dada are fun to watch. », Sai broke the silence.
« Haan because Sam is crazy and I love to live my life like there is no tomorrow. You and Virat also look adorable together. », Luna said.
« Adorable ? You haven't seen us fight. », Sai laughed.
« Is mein hi toh pyaar hai. », Luna winked at her with a smile.
« There is no love between us and there can never be. », Sai replied.
« Why ? », Luna asked confused.
« Long story. », Sai smiled.
« Toh short mein bata do.... Sorry it's maybe private but believe me I see love in both your eyes. », Luna said.
« Then your eyes failed for the first time. », Sai teased her and laughed.
« Naaa that's not possible. My eyes are toppers. », Luna laughed back. « Sam said a lot about you. Now I know why he loves you so much. », she changed the topic.
Sai's eyes welled up and she went silent. Luna looked up as she didn't reply and saw her getting emotional. She touched her shoulder to get her back to her.
« Since my birth I had only my Aaba... my father. My mother died as soon as I was born. I don't have any brother or sister. Not even uncles and aunties or grandparents. My Aaba died a few months ago. Samrat Dada and Mohit have always supported me and gave me that brotherly love. And Aayi, Virat Sir's mother, has always loved me like her daughter. I am really thankful to them. », Sai explained unable to control her tears.
Luna gave her a tight hug.
« Now if you don't mind having a sister then I would love to be that sister... we are also pretty much the same. We would look like twin sisters with at least ten years of difference. », Luna laughed.
« I would love to have a Di. », Sai laughed with tears.
« Wonderful, I also don't have any sister. But please call me only Luna or only Di. », Luna wiped away Sai's tears.
« How dare you take my sister away from me ? », Samrat came inbetween the girls and moved Luna aside.
« Now she is my sister too. », she pushed him aside.
Sai laughed and both Samrat and Luna hugged her each from one side. Virat came in the kitchen at that moment and watched them with a smile leaning against the door.
« Should I feel jealous ? Can you both leave my wife ? », he asked.
Luna broke the hug and whispered in Sai's ear, « He doesn't love you, you said ? »
The tea and the coffee were ready and the four of them joined back the Chavans in the living room. Sai helped Luna in serving everyone. A smile appeared on Bhavani Kaku's face.
« I agree with Samrat. This is the best tea I ever had. », Kaku stated.
« All thanks to my teenage years work experiences. I worked at a coffee shop when I was eighteen. », Luna explained proudly.
« But you come from a rich family. Why did you have to work ? », Karishma asked curious.
« I didn't work for money. I worked to be independent. I wanted to see the world. », Luna said.
Pakhi fumed silently. She didn't like that everyone was enjoying Luna's hand made tea and coffee. Even her Badi Mami was insulting her. She didn't say her tea was one of the best but the best she ever had. Pakhi knew Samrat did it on purpose to insult her. As if this wasn't enough that they were joined by Devyani.
« Sai Sai Sai where did you disappear ? Do you know Patralekha organized a big surprise party for Veeru but you both didn't come home. Achcha kya. », Devyani insulted Pakhi.
« Shhhhh Tai aise nahin bolte. », Sai replied.
Devyani's eyes fell on Luna, « Sai who is this ? Is it your friend ? »
« No Tai not mine but Samrat dada's. Come let me introduce you to her. », Sai took her near Luna and introduced them to each other, « Tai this is Luna. Luna di, this is our Devi Tai. »
« Hi Devi Tai. », Luna greeted her.
« Hi Luna. », Devi greeted her too.
Sai explained to Luna about Devyani's condition and Luna told her that Samrat had briefly explained long time ago.
« Devyani go back to your room. », Kaku ordered.
« Please Badi Aunty, let Tai have tea with us. It will make me happy. », Luna requested.
« Sai look, Luna is also good like you. Sai aur Luna achchi, Aayi gandi. », she stuck her tongue out at Bhavani.
Luna gave her a cup of tea and made her sit on the sofa. Sai brought a piece of cake for her.
« You know what Tai ? Two weeks ago, my cousin and I went to Switzerland. And guess what we did ? », Luna asked her.
« What ? », Devyani asked curious.
« We emptied an entire chocolate shop. », Luna told her laughing then took out a Cailler chocolate bar and showed her, « So I have this for you. »
« For me ? Chocolate from Switzerland ? Thank you. », Devyani snatched it excitedly.
Samrat and Virat looked admiringly at Luna and Sai. They couldn't understand how two strangers could love their sister more than the family.
« Wow this tea tastes so good. I know this is not made by Patralekha. She can't make it so deliciously. Tune banayi hai kya Sai. », Devyani asked.
« Nahin Tai, Luna di ne banayi hai. », Sai replied.
« Wooow Luna one point, Patralekha zero point. », Devyani pointed a zero at Pakhi.
Bhavani saw how this was making Pakhi sad and decided to change the topic.
« Where are you from Luna ? », she asked.
« I am from Kolkata but we barely lived there. », Luna replied.
« Toh tum Bengali ho. », Sonali stated.
« Ji Aunty ar ami jani shobay amake bhalo bashe kintu ami machh beshi khaina. (I know everyone loves me but I don't eat fish that much. », Luna replied.
Samrat chuckled. He understood that she was mocking the stereotypes of people always saying the same sentence to her « Ami tomake bhalobashi » and questioning her about eating fish.
« Sonali Mami, she is a Bengali petni. », Samrat laughed and closed one of his eyes while watching her reaction with the other one.
Luna made a poker face, « Ey petni toke chhoto chhoto tukdo kore chabiye khabe. (This petni will cut you into small pieces and chow you down.) »
« I didn't understand what you said but I know it must be something savage. », Samrat replied.
She showed him a big fake smile while he shook his head. Not far from there Virat signed something to Sai which she didn't unerstand so he walked to her and went really close to her. She looked at him surprised. He gently wiped away the excessive sindoor that got smudged probably due to the earlier group hug. She closed her eyes. His caress procured her a strange kind of pleasure. He was so focused on her and the vermilion that he didn't realize everyone's eyes were on them. He loved her with the vermilion so much that he wished she could wear it every day but he wasn't ready to share this wish with her.
« Well I think I should leave now. It's quite late. », Luna diverted the attention on her.
« Already ? », Samrat asked.
« Alvida alvida humari rahe alvida. », Luna sang.
« Alvida alvida ab kehna aur kya jab tune keh diya alvida. », Samrat sang as reply.
« Thank you for inviting me and thank you all for such a warm welcome. I had a great time. », Luna thanked everyone.
« Thanks for coming. », Samrat said.
Luna said goodbye to everyone and hugged Mansi. Mansi loved her caring side. She also hugged Ashwini because she made her feel like a family member. She then hugged Devyani and Sai. Samrat accompanied her to the car.
« You shouldn't have brought so many gifts, Moon. », he said.
« The first time you came to my house, you brought a whiskey bottle for dad, a Kashmiri shawl for my mom and lots of chocolate for my brother. Did I say anything to you ? Then why are you being so formal with me ? », she asked.
« Ok Moon, you have a point. », he replied.
Luna gave him a friendly hug and got in the car. He watched her drive away before going back to the house.
Later that night, Virat went to the balcony to get some fresh air before going to bed. Pakhi was already there. He didn't want to stay but she stopped him.
« Are you trying to avoid me Virat ? », she asked.
« Why would I do that ? », he asked.
« Don't you even feel guilty ? How Virat ? Do you have any idea how it feels when your so called husband taunts you because you accepted to organize a surprise party which was anyway requested by Badi Mami ? Don't you even feel bad that all my efforts were wasted because you preferred to spend some alone time with your wife. », she questioned him.
« I am sorry if Jeeva taunted you because of me but I am not sorry for spending time with my wife away from everyone. », Virat made it clear.
« Waaah Bhandara mein tum dono ke beech aisa kya ho gaya ki tum toh aapni biwi pe fidaa hi ho gaye ho. », she taunted him.
« It's non of your business Pakhi. », he replied.
« It is my business. Anyone and anything that's related to you is my damn business. », she shouted.
« Pakhi listen, Samrat has given you a chance. Try to know him. You will see what a wonderful man he is, probably much better than me. », he tried to reason with her.
« Yeah right so that you can be with your wife without any guilt. », she said.
« Goodnight. », he turned around and left.
Pakhi threw away the cushions from the patio sofa. Virat entered the room and found a smiling Sai checking her phone. She then shook her head and talked to herself « Kuch bhi. ». He walked to the bed on his tiptoes and sat next to her.
« Who or what is making you smile like this ? », he asked curious.
She startled and looked at him, « Luna Di. »
« Ohhh and what is she saying ? », he asked.
She blushed, « Girls talk. »
« Achcha ! Toh phir pakka meri aur Jeeva ki burayi ho rahi hai. », he said.
« Nahin sirf aapki. », she teased him.
He faked being annoyed and turned his back to lie down. She built the pillow wall and switched off the light. She smiled at Luna's delusion. She had taken a picture of them when Virat was removing her sindoor and has sent it to her with the caption « When the entire world around you doesn't exist anymore it is called love. ». Her smile disappeared when she remembered that feeling love for each other was impossible. They had immense respect for each other and there was definitely a special bond between them but that coudn't be called love.
Luna typed a text message to Samrat, « Tomorrow I am leaving for the mission I told you about the other day. If something happens to me, know that my last memory is with you. Thank you for bearing with me for so long. Take care and goodnight. »
Samrat hated her pessimism. He angrily wrote back to her, « First of all best of luck. I only wish good for you and my prayers are always with you. Thanks for pissing me off with your negative thoughts. If something really ever happens to you then I will never forgive you. Just for that I know you will return in one piece. Let's see whose prayers are accepted by God. »
Luna replied, « I love you too Mr. Pagal. » to which he immediately replied « I don't think you do. »
