Broken Prithvi💔💔

As the man was walking through the terrace he could see the paintings, those lying across the wall, within a corner there was a long-heightened man who was talking on the phone keeping his one hand inside his pocket, the man was slightly taller than him.

The man disconnected the call and suddenly he could feel someone tapped on his shoulder, seeing a stranger who was wearing a mask with a beanie cap on his head and sunglasses, he became flabbergasted when he turned around.

The man got a wink from the stranger who put off his sunglasses, the man felt the touch was very familiar, but he couldn't make it out and was still in confusion.

The stranger removed his mask at the last and said “My Einstein” he curled his lower lip.

A pleasant smile appeared on his lips, his lips were quivering for sometimes everything in the surrounding goes silent, his eyes got delighted and he whispered “P...Prithvi..”

Both of them hugged each other, their eyes got moistened, they separated after a while.

“Sale, I can't imagine you will come,

“Why not Dharam, we  hardly have only 1 or 2 days to meet our friends within a year, how Can I miss this opportunity ”

Dharam looked at Prithvi admiringly “You will never be changed,”

“Tuio to paltasni jokhoni dekha hoi tokhnii phone e busy thakis,chipku[you haven’t changed much either,you are always busy on the phone whenever we meet,chipku]”Prithvi  teased Dharam

Dharam smirked “I am glad you came”[keeping his hand on Prithvi’s shoulder with so much compassion ] Now let's go inside they were waiting for us”

“You mean everybody has come except, am I late?”Prithvi asked  embarrassingly 

“No, not everyone ‘

“Then?” he asked in confusion

“Just come with me I have to meet you with someone”

Both of them were looking forward to the hall, on the way  Prithvi again put on his mask and sunglasses. Dharam was looking for Meghna but didn't find her due to the dim light of the hall. Prithvi asked Dharam who was looking here and asked “Are you looking for someone?”

“ Yeah Bro, Actually I am. He was about to say then his mobile buzzed and on the screen display the name Megh, he received  the call

On another side of the call,

“What happened to you Dharam, I am waiting for you, where have you been disappeared ?’’

“I am sorry yaar, I was taking calls from the office I was waiting for our gang I forget to tell you”

“It’s okay, she replied 

“ where are you standing ?” he asked 

Meghna told him the location and then they met again, he exhaled a sigh and also thank God yet the music of the room wasn't so much aloud at that moment.

Dharam found Meghna who was sitting on a sofa where it was less crowded. She was looking at the wallpaper one time and another moment switched off the light of the screen.

They moved towards her. Meghna looked up, she saw Dharam with a man who was 1inch shorter than him.

“I am sorry Megh for waiting for you so long” Dharam apologize once again

“It’s okay Dharam, but you can be told me about it earlier” Though Meghna spoke there was no anger shown in her tone, Dharam feels the same calmness in her voice was like before in their school life despite every worse situation she never loses her temper, Dharam knew that Meghna couldn't be talked with anyone with a raised voice, she was so much quite as deep as like an ocean.

“Dharam who is his man,” Meghna asked him through her gesture 

Dharam turned towards Prithvi and asked him to remove his disguise,

As soon as Prithvi removed his mask, sunglasses and at last his cap, Meghna was flabbergasted in the same way as Dharam a few mins ago.

Meghna kept her hands on her mouths “her eyes were glistening with happiness and she couldn’t believe her eyes “

Prithvi was also looking at her with a smiling face

Both of them hugged each other, they broke the hug “I can't believe in my eyes I am meeting you after a decade. I am so glad”

“Me too Meghna,” he said “By the way how are you? “He asked 

“I am fine” Meghna was looking at Dharam “so it was your surprise,

“Hmm” Dharam replied simply nodding his head

“But Dharam what about others, when will they come ?” Prithvi asked 

“When will both of them arrive? it’s 7.30 and the party will be started soon “Meghna checked at her wristwatch 

Dharam again got a call, Prithvi glanced at him “ Guys, they have arrived “Dharam chuckled 

All the three were waiting for their friends, they were sitting at the corner “  meanwhile in the middle of their conversation 

The handsome man was wearing a blue and black striped shirt with black jeans, he had fair skin with a gentle smile on his face. 

Everyone was astonished to see him “Raghav, “What happened to you, why are you being so late?”Dharam asked 

“Am I so late ?”Raghav asked doubtfully 

“Not so much”

“Hey bro what’s up?”Raghav asked Prithvi 

“I am fine bro,” they closed their fist and hit on the chest of each other.

“Ouch ..Sale, Is it your hand or a hammer ?”

All the three hugged each other, Raghav was working at a software company so he was very busy, due to their busy schedules they hardly were able to meet each other and now they were reunited after a long year.

“Raghav waise ek baat bata ,tu toh pehle double thana single kaise hogya , I mean itna patla kaisa hogaya?”Prithvi teased

Raghav [Among their friend's group Raghav non-Bengali,]

“Dharam do you remember in school mein, Raghav did not share a single bite of food with anyone except Sunaina ,kahi use  second time to impress Karne kya irada toh nahi hai?”

“Omago truru love”[OMG True love]Dharam jokes

“Kya tum sabbhi  na ,jao mujhe nahi baat karni”Raghav said this so cutely,he was a very sweet and cute boy during his school days “

“Arey arey ruk toh, arrey mere Bhai Tu toh naraz hogay, acha chal sorry”

, then Raghav eyes fall on Meghna

“ Mehnga! Tui ekhnae I mean tuio esechis ?Kmn achis ,koto bochor por?”Are you here,  mean You have come? How are you? How many years later? ”)

“Ami Valo achi, tui kemon achis ?”Kaku Kakima ,Dada kmn achen?”( I am fine ,what about you, how is uncle and Aunty) meghna asked happily 

“They all are fine “but what about you ,tor khobor ei nei re? tui toh dumurer phool hoygachis puro?’’ (what happened to you, there were no sign of your )

Raghav asked her

Meghna replied hesitantly “I was busy in work”

“It’s okay yar I can understand  I was just kidding with you you knew me ?” 

Meghna nodded her head positively,

“By the way guys, where is Arjun, will he come or not?”Dharam inquired

“he was busy in traffic “Raghav answered

“Okay “

Just wait for him few minutes he will arrive soon 

On the way, they meet with some of their classmates 

“Hey look, he is Prithvi the captain of the Indian football team, our school champion someone shouted from the crowd 

Everybody looked at him and come close to him, they Started clicking selfies, photos, Dharam kept his hand on Prithvi’s shoulder with affection and said “I am proud of you, actually we all proud of you” 

Prithvi so the compassion in his eyes and also the respect, love in his tone. He was feeling shy.

“Thank you yaar, thank you for supporting me those days “Prithvi replied gratefully to his friends all of them again hugged each other, they were standing on the balcony keeping their hands on the railing closing their fists.

“There is no place for thank you and sorry in friendship “A voice came out, everyone looked back towards source the sound,

It was Arjun

Suddenly the environment of the room became heavy, All the four friends hugged each other their hearts became heavy, eyes got moistened.

“You have late today too” Prithvi complain as usual

They wept their tears, again embracing each other.

Meghna was very happy and also delighted from the core of her heart, she thanked Dharam for seeing their friends group once again.

“Now let’s go inside the party will be started, Guys, “someone from the crowd said

“

On the stage there was a big nameplate made of paper in which was written “BATCH 2011” and also the school name, there was a man, holding a mic in his hand “Welcome you all guys, how are you all ?”

Everybody replied excitingly “Fantastic”

He again started “it is going to be a very memorable day for us, as it is the reunion of our batch, it has been 10 years since we left our school, today will remember our school days, once again we returned to enjoy those old memories, our all precious days, there some photos of our batches and also the videos will be played on the projector. I know we have so many talented persons who were expert in dancing, singing, poetry can show to us we all will cheer up them

The music had been started, a man came and distributed the card of a restaurant which he has established recently, basically, there was an invitation card, everybody cheers up him 

They were talking with their old friends, making jokes, and enjoying the moments.

All of them were sitting at a dinner table,

“I will get some drinks for us “Arjun

“Hey, Arjun don't forget we have ladies with us” Dharam warned

“I know, baba,

Meghna glared at Dharam

“Raghav comes with me,” Arjun asked while Arjun and Raghav were going towards the counter. He collapsed with a girl accidentally, the girl was going to fall on the floor. He held her hands and balanced her, The girl stood properly. She was about to say something to Arjun then she stopped abruptly. Both of them were looking at each other, Arjun was at the girls without blinking, she had sparkling eyes, rosy cheeks, the girl smiled at him, light music was playing there along with the Hindi Bollywood song 

Surkh wala, sauz wala, 

Faiz wala love

Hota hai jo love se jyada waise wala love

Ishq wala love

Hua jo dard bhi toh humko aaj kuch zyada hua

Ishq wala love

He recalled the girl was from another section during his school days, during that period he had a huge crush on her.

Arjun came out from his dreamland 

“Hi, Arjun,” said the girl 

“I. I am fine, what about you”

“I am also good, it’s nice to see you after a long time “the girl replied and moved away from there

Arjun was still looking at the girl who was talking with her friends. When he turned he had turned around found his friends were looking at him  with a mischievous smile on their face

They started to tease him “Hi! Arjun, Kmn this?” in a female tone 

Arjun was feeling shy 

“Arjun just think about it if Maya will present here and she sees that scene in her eyes then imagine the scenario ?”Prithvi smirked 

“By the way Guys will you remembered, Arjun was going to help Kartika on the chemistry lap but he burns the whole lap “teased Raghav

“That’s why you take chemistry Arjun after 12th standard ” Prithvi was also teased him

All of them were burst out in laughter

“By the way how many times you were scolded by Maya, did she beat you like before,” Raghav asked teasingly

“Salo, tum mere dost nahi ho, dost ke same khete ho ki uski bibi use din mein kitna baar pit hai,mujhe toh sharam aati hai , nalat hai raise Dosti parr”

“Achaaa” they raise their eyebrows “Oye Hindi movie er dialogue dishna"(don't have Hindi movies dialogue)

Arjun becomes irritated, he kept his face on another side  

“By the way Guys, who is Maya?” Meghna asked 

“Maya is my one and only dear wife “Arjun confessed lovingly

“ Are you married? But when and where why didn't you invite me Arjun  ?”Meghna complain

“Come on Meghna I wished to invite you but you have changed your contact number and Dharma was also totally unaware of your current location” Arjun complained 

“This is also the same question of mine, why Mehnga why are you disappearing like your best friend ?”The question came out from Rahgav mouth abruptly,

Everybody was looking at him when he looked at Prithvi who remained silent

Arjun glared at Raghav “why did you take her name didn't you know the truth?”

“I am sorry yaar actually it came out from my mouth accidentally “but she didn't come here, so Prithvi must be feeling better”

“It was good for us and also for Prithvi, if she had come it was a difficulty for him” Dharam claimed

Meghna feels the anger and hatred on Dharam’s word “But Dharam why are you saying so?”

“Meghna didn't you know what she had done to our friend ?”Arjun asked confusingly 

“NO, what happened, I can't understand anything “

“I was thinking that you know everything, but think about that she even not dare to say it to her one of the closed ones, I can't think she was an expert on that level to hide and play with feelings,  emotions of people”

“Please guys don’t play a hide and sick with me, please tell me the truth”

Meghna couldn't believe in her ears what Arjun had just told her ?”I can’t believe this 

“We were also couldn't but it was right we are happy for our friend that he able to escape from that trap”

“Stop it guys don’t blame her, it was a long time I mean a decade”  Raghav tried to cool the situation

“No Raghav Arjun is right and I am agreed with him” Dharam agreed with Arjun

None of them noticed that when Prithvi got up from his seat and moved away from there.

Dharma was trying to dial Prithvi’s mobile no. but he did not 

received his phone

All of them panicked for him.

Dharam, did Prithvi pick up his phone? I am very scared,?”Meghna aksed  

“No Megh, whenever I tried to call him it said that his phone is out of range “Dharam replied,

All of them were looking very tensed 

“All this occurred because of me only..only for me, if I didn't talk about her this thing would not happen,” Raghav said in disappointment. 

“No Raghav it’s not your mistake, If anyone wants to blame, it would be me, If I didn't ask Arjun then the topic of discussion will not come out,” Meghan said dejectedly 

Arjun interrupted her “No, Meghna don't blame yourself. It was 

“Stop it guys, where Prithvi is now is more  important than who was blame and who wasn't, Understand “Dharam spoke up irritatingly 

“Yes, Dharam is right,” Raghav acknowledge 

They all dial his no. and call him one by one but it seemed like all their exertion goes in vein 

“Dharam Should we ring him at his home? maybe he reached his home!”Arjun said 

Dharam was thinking something in his mind, then replied “No Arjun, if he has not returned his home then Aunty will be panicked,”

“Then what should we do?,” Raghav asked

“I am calling his elder brother mobile no. we shall tell him everything  otherwise the situation will worsen.”Dharam was going to dial the no. of Prithvi’s brother at that instant his phone buzzed 

“Where are you now? Are you insane? Why didn't you pick up your phone? Have you any idea how much we all worried for you?” he asked him in haste, everybody was astonished to see Dharam’s pitch of voice. Answer me Prithvi? when he didn’t get any response 

“I am sorry yaar! i...I am sorry to keep you all in panic, I haven’t had any network on my mobile. I am sorry yaar”

Dharam interrupted “Prithvi are you alright?” he asked him worriedly 

“Why I am fine I’m more than fine,” he said it in a raising voice

“Prithvi has you drink,” Dharam asked him by hearing his voice  

For sometimes he didn’t get an answer from him 

Dharam felt his chuckle as the way he used to do whenever he gets hurt “I am sorry ..Dharam...I can’t say lie to you, yes I drink but not much I swear on ...I swear on...I am sorry”

Dharam “

“Prithvi doesn't move from the position you are at now,  tell your location I will come, I am just coming “

“No, no Dharam, I can manage ..now I am used to it. don’t worry yaar, and I am so sorry for bothering you all, I am sorry .”

Dharam was going to say something and the call had disconnected.

Prithvi 

Prithvi was driving his car. He removed his mask but his cap was still on his head. He was looking very disturbed. His phone buzzed out there was a photo of a woman had appeared on the screen, he swept the green button and received the call 

“Yes Maa,”

Otherside of the call 

“Where are your baba [beta] ?”

“On the way, Maa, have you and Baba[father] and all had your dinner?”

“Yes baba, but why did your phone say out of the coverage area ?”

Prithvi replied the same answer, network issue, he knew well that his mother could sense his depressed mind so he made some excuse ”Maa, I will reach home within an hour, don't worry, love you Maa” he said in haste

“Okay baba, sabdhane gaari chalas[ drive safely ]

Prithvi cut the call he knew if he talked to her for a few minutes she could sense he intake alcohol, it will be shameful for him and also for her.

Prithvi was thinking all the conversations had been discussed at the party “It had been a decade, everybody had come but you didn't, Why,  I have the power, success, glory everything, you were present when I had nothing but disappear when I have everything...Strange  “He was immersed in his memory lane, on the way something had caught his glance, it was going to collapse with his car but he slammed the brake and car has to stop. He came from his car instantly. His heart was pounding. He looked here and there afterward his eyes fell on a rabbit that was sitting in front of one of the tires of his car. 

“ Are you alright, “ he asked with concern, reaching down close to the Rabbit. He exhales a sigh of relief.

Prithvi caressing the head of the rabbit, he smiled simply “What are you doing here on the road? He asked softly. What sin I was going to do, have you imagined? Why are you wandering here and there on this lonely night ...lonely night like me ?’’He asked the rabbit despite knowing the fact that how can a rabbit understand his feelings. He sat on the road beside the rabbit a few times, telling him so many things. 

“From now you don't have to remain alone, I will take you with me to my home” He was going to pick up the rabbit in his hand, but it slipped away from his grip and ran away from there.

Prithvi follows the Rabbit at which way it had gone. He crossed across a narrow street. It was late at night, though he didn't know the exact time. After a certain moment, he couldn't find the rabbit. He felt disappointed “even a rabbit did not want to take my company, how unlucky I am ?’ He felt  

Afterward, he noticed the surroundings,  the shops along the street had their shutter rolled down, everything in the surroundings felt very quiet. There were only 2 or 3 big lamp posts that enlightened the road. Suddenly his legs started to take steps, he felt that he had visited this place before.

He was looking with astonishing eyes, forgetting about the main road at which he had kept his car. The place was quiet. He saw one or two-story houses with few private cars in front of it, one municipal water tab on the footpath, smells of leathers entering inside of his nostrils. He looked around inquisitively. Perhaps it was the shoe shop area where there were so many people selling shoes at a lower price than the market. His legs started to increase its steps, his eyes were wondering everything, there were few Krishnachura trees, an electronic showroom, adjacent to it a barbershop, few grocery shops, sugar, and a spice store. Suddenly his eyes fell on the balcony, he remembered there was a dog who used to bark all the time whenever it saw anyone wandering here. After a few steps, he knew there was a man who sold ice gola during the summer period. His eyes fell on the small books store, for a moment everything paused, he took his steps slowly. He feels like his heart had stopped beating when his gaze falls on the big black iron rod made gate above which the name “ KPJ school” (it is an imaginary school it has no relation with reality)

He looked there with unblinking eyes. Prithvi moved close towards it, ran his fingers on the railings, caressing his palm on the wall.

After a while, he climbed the wall and entered the campus of the school. He turned on the flashlight of his mobile, he recalled the playground, the long corridor, huge walls, their classroom everything, he recalls his first day at school, how he made his  friends there, their little crimes at schools, the parking slot where they kept their cycles

Prithvi gradually floats on the river of memory.
