Khushi woke up late in the morning, and looked at the other side of the bed for Arnav. But he wasn’t there.

Surprised, she moved to look around, and jumped as Arnav suddenly pecked her cheek. "Happy Birthday, jaan,” he whispered, a wicked grin on his face.

Khushi laughed, and rubbed her nose with his. "Thank you, jaan!"

"Today, I will make breakfast for you," he offered, a tender note in his voice.

Khushi frowned, mentally calculating the merits of the offer. "No need. You will mess it up, as always.”

"No. You do the chores daily, but today is your day, my love," he insisted, pouting dramatically.

She smiled, pecking his nose."Aww, okay fine.”

Khushi came out of the bathroom, humming a song. Wearing a bathrobe, she entered the kitchen breezily, before the smell of something burning teased her nostrils.

Startled, she realised that the toaster was burnt, and the smell of smoke from the messed up kitchen was becoming stronger.

Fuming inwardly, she turned towards a sheepish Arnav. “Hey, tumne mera kaam aasan karne ki jagah badha diya.”

"Sorry, love. I got distracted due to a call.” He bit his lower lip, looking worried.

"Aman?” she asked.

He nodded and continued, "There is a meeting, so.."

She stepped closer. “Then you should go to the office. It’s your and bhai's dream."

"Thanks, Khush! I love you," he smiled in relief. 

"Love you too," she responded, as he rushed out the door.

Khushi had just finished zipping up her evening gown, when the door bell buzzed. It was Inspector Shindey.

"Krish's case has been closed. It was definitely an accident. I have come to give you his belongings," said inspector Shindey.

Tears pricked her eyes, as she looked at her brother's watch. She had gifted it to him on his 25th birthday. Then, suddenly, her gaze fell on something. Her eyes widened in shock.
